Chapter 5 Embroidered handkerchiefs

"Milk! Milk! Come out quickly! Auntie has caught a fish!"

Before they even entered the door, Erlang started calling, and Mrs. Zhang came out with a broom in her hands, making her face look very angry.

"Where's the soul calling? I'm not deaf yet!"

"Milk, it's fish, my aunt caught it!" Shen Erlang put down the basin, and Mrs. Zhang saw two large crucian carps in Jiang Miao's hands at a glance.

"Hey, how did you catch this?" Mrs. Zhang took it with a look of surprise on her face. It's not easy to catch fish, otherwise everyone in the village would be able to eat the meat.

"My aunt used her clothes to carry her into the water..."

"Going into the water? Are you going into the water?" Mrs. Zhang's face turned cold. The Qingquan River was not shallow, and people drowned every year. She had repeatedly warned her children not to go near the river. It would not be worth the loss to lose one's life because of a stutter.

"Mom, I'm standing by the river. This fish is not afraid of people, and it caught it in one pocket!" Jiang Miao had a flattering look on her face, and her already soft appearance made her lose her temper even more when she acted like a good girl.

"No next time, Erlang and Daya are not allowed to go to the river alone, do you hear me?"

"I know, milk!" Both of them nodded before Mrs. Zhang gave up.

"Put it in a tank and keep it until the third child takes a bath."

Jiang Miao burst into tears in her heart. There were still three days until Shen Yanqingxiu took the bath, and she wanted to eat it tomorrow.

"Mom, my husband is studying hard and has lost weight. My wife wants to make some fish soup to replenish him tomorrow..."

Shen Yanqing was her lifeblood, and Mrs. Zhang hesitated after hearing Jiang Miao's words.

The third child studies hard and often stays up late to study, so he really needs to catch up.

"Then I'll make one tomorrow and leave the remaining one for the third child to eat when he comes back."

"Hey!" Seeing Jiang Miao's happy eyes narrowing, Mrs. Zhang was a little funny. After all, she is a teenage girl and she is still greedy for meat.

Forget it, the men of the Shen family are busy with work, and Mrs. Xu is also pregnant, so they all need to take supplements. Let’s have a good meal tomorrow.

"You go to town tomorrow to deliver the handkerchiefs, and by the way, bring some food to the third child."

Jiang Miao nodded in confusion, "Paja, what kind of veil?"

When she returned to the room, she saw the sewing basket on the bedside. There were several handkerchiefs that had been embroidered. The white silk cloth was embroidered with red and pink flowers. They were pretty and cute. It could be seen that the original owner's embroidery skills were very good.

Jiang Miao touched the unfinished embroidery handkerchief. She had memories of the original owner being sold to the Shen family, but the previous memories seemed to be covered with a layer of white mist. She racked her brains and couldn't recall them.

The original owner was a little cannon fodder in the book, and her family was probably from the countryside. They sold her when there was a disaster. Jiang Miao didn't think much about it anymore, she put it on the original owner and lived a good life in her place.

After Jiang Miao sorted out her memories, she picked up a needle and embroidered a butterfly on the handkerchief. She combined modern painting techniques and embroidery skills. The butterfly was lifelike and it seemed to come alive when it landed on a small flower.

Jiang Miao was a little surprised. She had found a way to make a fortune.

She originally thought about selling snacks, but selling food would cost money. The Shen family had never done business, so Mrs. Zhang would definitely not give her money, but selling embroidery was different.

The original owner was well versed in selling embroidery. Jiang Miao loved tinkering with these small items in her previous life. She has many ideas and has seen many tricks in modern times. As long as she finds business opportunities, there is no need to worry about making money.

Jiang Miao was full of energy for a while, and her dreams were sweet.

The next day it was Jiang Miao's turn to cook, and Mrs. Wang was worried about staying in the kitchen.

Jiang Miao was a little embarrassed. In the past, the original owner either burned the food intentionally or left the rice raw. She would do anything to be lazy. In the end, it was Wang who cleaned up the mess for her.

"Sister-in-law, let me do it." She wiped her hands and took the kitchen knife.

"Can you do it?" We are still cooking fish today. The Shen family has not eaten meat for half a year. If she cooks it badly... Mrs. Wang is a little suspicious.

"I want to make fish soup for my husband with my own hands," Jiang Miao's face turned red. Such shameful words came out of her mouth and she almost felt ashamed.

Mrs. Wang nodded and said no more. She couldn't stop this young couple from loving each other.

Jiang Miao washed and cut the fish, put oil in the pan and fried both sides until golden and fragrant. Mrs. Zhang ran in and took a look.

"Why put so much oil!"

Jiang Miao's heart tightened, "Mom, add more oil to make it more fragrant. It's good for your body. My husband also likes it..."

Mrs. Zhang's face was stern. Did she know that adding too much oil would make the dishes fragrant? Seeing that Jiang Miao had no idea, her heart was in knots, but she had done all the cooking and still gave it to the third child. Mrs. Zhang didn't

There was nothing to say, so he just stood by the pot and stared at her.

Jiang Miao fried the fish, poured in water, and added chopped green onions, ginger, and garlic. The fire started rolling, and the fish soup gradually turned white, and the fragrance overflowed. Several women in the kitchen swallowed silently.

This fish soup...is so delicious!

Jiang Miao pulled another radish from the vegetable field, cut two pieces of tofu and put them into the soup to cook together. The fish soup was fragrant, and the sweetness of the radish was mixed together, not to mention how delicious it was.

Shen has a large family and she cooks a lot, so she can definitely share a bowl.

When the fish soup was ready, Jiang Miao put on a few palm-sized pancakes, which were delicious when paired with the fish soup.

Mrs. Zhang packed up Shen Yanqing's portion, picked up the fish belly meat, put it in a large bowl, and handed it to Jiang Miao along with the basket.

"Go and deliver food to the third child. Go early and come back early. I'll keep your share for you."

"I know, mother."
