Sixty-seven. And go home

No one knows who the businessman is - for an exorcist who has no ambitions and only treats exorcism as a job.

Such as Hades.

But the mystery of businessmen is real. Most of them wear dirty cloaks, carry old and heavy backpacks, wear shabby scarves that can cover their faces, and are silent.

They will take the initiative to come to the door of the famous exorcist, bringing goods, but the content of the transaction is not limited to the goods in the backpack. Obscure and hidden information, bartering, and strange small objects are all within the scope of the transaction.

Psychic guns, silver-plated bullets, and delusion candles are the things Hades buys most often.

It is rare to hear the words "I can't do it, find another one" from their mouths.

As long as they accept the deal, they will bring you what you want on their next visit.

They usually knock on the door early every morning, and leave after the tenth knock without answer. The time of appearance is variable, and may come once every few days, or it may come every few weeks.

This is all Hades knows.

He specifically reminded Lu Li not to do stupid things like attacking merchants. There was once a greedy exorcist who did this, and then no merchants traded with him anymore, even if they repurchased from other exorcists.

The closest guess at the moment about the merchant is that he is related to the secretive Demon Slayer Association.

This explains why they would choose to deal with the Exorcist rather than anyone else.

Lu Li thought thoughtfully, merchants sounded a bit like an enhanced version of Hades. Correspondingly, the help they could bring was greater than Hades.

Of course, the corresponding price is also greater.

Unfortunately, they could not be found. If he wanted to contact them, Lu Li could only wait for them to show up outside the detective agency.

Lu Li asked others: "How much do you know about the night watchmen and investigators?"

"Investigator?"

Hades behind the bar looked at Lu Li with a strange look: "Most people don't know about this group of mysterious guys. Have you met them?"

Lu Li did not answer and acquiesced.

"It sounds like something happened in the Shadow Swamp..." Hades rubbed his chin and murmured thoughtfully. "Of course I can tell you the Night Watch and the investigators, but..."

"I haven't given you the reward for the Light Fruit yet." Of course Lu Li knew what Hades was going to say.

Hades' narrowed eyes suddenly widened, and he knocked on the table with an angry look: "You actually threatened me with the remuneration you owe me!"

Lu Li responded calmly: "You just turned a few pages of the book."

"Well……"

Hades, who was in the wrong, played a long tone and quietly retracted the red hand behind his back: "It can be summed up in one sentence: investigators are responsible for looking for trouble, and night watchmen are responsible for solving trouble."

Both investigators and night watchmen are affiliated with the Council of Elders and have official backgrounds.

The former is loosely organized and operates alone, walking on the ground and in the ocean, exploring mysterious and treacherous no-man's land and bizarre and dangerous situations. The latter is strictly organized and operates in small teams to solve the dangerous areas explored by the former.

It's hard to say which of the two is more dangerous.

Investigators need to face all kinds of indescribable things, understand and remember those things that will reduce their sanity. Under the truth that the more they know, the faster they will die, they are like moths to a flame.

The Night Watchmen need to solve these mysterious and strange dangers. They will block out most of the things that reduce their sanity and only retain the mission goals. But solving troubles means facing the troubles head-on. They will inevitably have to confront those entities until one party

disappear from the world.

From Lu Li's perspective, the investigator is more in line with Lu Li's knowledge-seeking mentality.

"How to contact them?"

"I have no idea."

Hades really didn't know.

In order to maintain his "ignorance", he doesn't even know the sanity value.

Hades might be able to guess something, but he would not take the initiative to learn more about it. This was a guy who valued life more than anything else - except for shillings.

Realizing that he would get nothing more from Hades, Lu Li left. Not long after he left, a roar sounded in the detective agency.

"Where's my money! Bastard!!!"

The sky is almost dark, and the sky in the west is dim.

Lu Li sent the carriage back to the rental agency, got back the deposit, and walked back.

Under the rain curtain, slender figures under umbrellas were walking on the relatively quiet bluestone road holding a faintly bright oil lamp.

The houses on both sides of the street lit up, preventing the street from being completely dark. The number of pedestrians on the street began to decrease, and no one was walking at a steady pace like Lu Li.

After visiting Shadow Town, Lu Li began to avoid the night.

How does the night in Belfast compare with the cabins in Shadowmoor? Sailors who have seen hurricanes will no longer be moved by huge waves.

The lighthouse on the rocks of the bay penetrates the darkness and rain, illuminating a sea area and pointing the way to lost ships.

Lu Li stood quietly by the fence. There was a beach in front of him, and the tavern block behind him was deserted and quiet.

For a while, Lu Li stared at the silhouette of a lighthouse in the rainy night on the Belfast beach until he felt a little cold. Lu Li turned around and walked towards a laundromat on this street.

Not far away, a slowly approaching black spot appeared at the end of the line of sight.

It was a man with unkempt hair and a beard. His steps were light and his body was swaying, and he was muttering something in a low voice.

"Evelin...Evelin..."

When he passed by the man, Lu Li suddenly spoke.

"Haben?"

"You...you know me?" The man raised his head blankly and looked at Lu Li with his dull and cloudy eyes.

It was a pale face filled with pain, and soaked linen clothes clung to his body.

Lu Li lowered his head and looked at his little finger, which was half missing.

"Go back, your wife and children are waiting for you at home."

Those bloodshot and numb eyes became a little more awake because of these words.

Haben raised his head and stared blankly at the face under the umbrella. He wanted to say something, but Lu Li had already moved past him.

Haben watched the figure go away and disappear behind a shop.

He withdrew his gaze and continued to stumble. The purpose that had been forgotten in his mind that was in severe pain became clear again.

go home……

The staggering Haben came to Sailor Street, and everything here seemed familiar yet strange to him. It was as if someone was calling him from somewhere.

He walked towards a long house and opened a half-open door.

The corridor was silent. Haben stood behind an unlocked door and walked gently into the room...

The warmth isolates the cold outside, and the oil lamp shines softly.

A woman holds a curled up little boy lying on the bed.

"Evelin..." Haben stood in front of the bed, calling with a trembling tone. Tears flowed down like a dam. His dirty, calloused palms stretched out and gently touched Evelin's cheek.

"I'm back……"

Evelin opened her eyes and slowly sat up from the bed. The face of the little boy in her arms was still stained with tears.

She looked around confusedly, but the door was still closed.

Evelin's eyes showed deep sadness.

She just felt her husband beside her.
