874. Old Sloan (Part 1 5K)(2/2)

But when playing inside the Grizzlies, impact is more useful than skill!

There are two Bears, Tony Allen and Paul George, and Sun Ce, the defensive coordinator. This combination is even more fierce than the Grizzlies' strongest defensive combination last season. They grinded the defense from the beginning and gave up to the Bulls at the beginning.

A heavy blow to the team.

Of course, the Bulls' defense is also very good, switching defenses very quickly and full of confrontation.

In the first 4 minutes of the game, the Grizzlies only scored 7 points. Sun Ce scored 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. Randolph had 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist. Paul George counterattacked and received Randolph's pass and scored two points.

.

But the Bulls only scored 4 points in the opening game!

Boozer scored on a second attack, and Hamilton got out of a switch and hit a jumper after Noah's point ball.

Rose started with 1 defensive rebound and made 0 of 2 shots!

The Grizzlies are here to block Rose!

Sloan called a timeout after Paul George scored two points with a counterattack dunk.

When he met the Grizzlies, Sloan had a terrible headache. This team was so disgusting!

Playing with this team is simply torture, torture in every aspect! The 11-man rotation does not take into account physical issues at all! Sloan feels that the opponent is just trying to disgust anyone to death.

It's true that the opponent only leads by 3 points, but this defense is disgusting.

But Sloan has to endure!

After this stage, Sloan replaced Hamilton with Korver. Hamilton had no three-pointers, and the space was not wide enough after all. Moreover, Hamilton was not in his prime anymore. Let Hamilton play like he did with the Suns in the last month or so of last season.

His performance is unlikely. The long offseason will have a great impact on Hamilton, who is about to turn 34 and his condition is average.

Sloan couldn't defeat the Grizzlies through defense. Except for the Pistons and Spurs eight years ago and the Celtics four years ago, no team could defend against this Grizzlies team.

So Sloan chose to add a three-pointer to open up the space and weaken the Grizzlies' interior defense.

And the tactics have also changed...

The Grizzlies replaced Randolph with Battier to enhance their mobility on the defensive end. They also wanted to open up the space more. Sun Ce, Tony Allen, Paul George, and Gasol continued to play.

After the timeout, the opponent replaced Korver with Hamilton, Boozer, Rose, Luol Deng, and Noah continued to play.

However, the Bulls' style of play after the timeout caught the Grizzlies by surprise.

The Bulls' tactics actually revolve around Korver, a pure shooter!

This forced the Grizzlies to expand their defense to the outside, causing Boozer to receive the ball on the left side of the three-second zone and beat Gasol one-on-one to score two points.

It's true that Korver doesn't score high, but he doesn't dare to miss his shots!

Sun Ce was surprised by the opponent's tactical change. He used a threatening shooter to contain the defense, and the basket scorer cut in from the weak side... Sun Ce seemed to have seen the way the Warriors would play in the future!

It is said that Steve Kerr relied on the Splash Brothers to apply the three-point tactic that his predecessors occasionally used but could not use frequently on his own team. Sun Ce used to think that he was deliberately trying to discredit Steve Kerr.

But combined with the future of the Warriors after losing the Tsunami trio, and the fact that they have seen a lot of tactics used by Steve Kerr in the past two years... now it seems that it is not just a black game.

Of course, Steve Kerr's ability to use the tactics of his predecessors is also his ability. Originally, NBA head coaches must learn from the experience of their predecessors and integrate them into their own tactics.

Although Korver cannot match the role of Curry or Klay Thompson, their breakthrough players and cutting players are very good. If they want to compete with the Grizzlies' super defense in a short period of time, they can still do it.

If coach Hollins hadn't replaced Randolph with Battier in advance to enhance his defensive ability, the Bulls might have been beaten.

At 6 minutes and 39 seconds of the first quarter, 13 to 12, the Grizzlies led by 1 point and entered the official timeout.

Sun Ce scored 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block in a little more than half a quarter. The block was Noah's catch and shoot.

Although he was leading by 1 point, Sun Ce felt that the start was not ideal, as he brought out his strongest defensive lineup. The head coach also successfully predicted that the opponent might suffer from a pitcher, but the opponent in today's critical opening stage,

They developed tactics around Korver, avoided confrontation, and created scoring opportunities inside. As a result, most of their ideas of consuming the opponent at the start fell through!

Moreover, Rose took the opportunity to score 4 points and also had two assists!

4 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Fortunately, Rose had no pick-and-roll assists because he had to develop tactics around Korver.

It’s just that this game is not easy to win!
