Chapter 9 Homecoming Trivia

In the early morning, the sound of drizzle, footsteps coming and going outside the tent, and vague conversations woke Kane up from the dream world.

Get up, stretch, pick up the weapon next to you and put it on your back.

Walking through the living tents, blocking the dazzling sunlight with my hands, I looked for office spots around the camp square.

There seemed to be more staff coming and going around than yesterday. I wonder if it was Kane's imagination.

Finding the temporary office tent, Kane opened the curtain and walked in.

The huge tent was crowded with an equally huge table and scattered stools, making Ben's spacious tent slightly crowded.

President Gordon, whom he had met by chance yesterday, was sitting at the head of the table, wearing glasses and writing and drawing on the documents piled on the table. He was so busy that he didn't seem to notice Kane's arrival.

Nando, who was standing behind the president, was talking about something. When he saw Kane's appearance, he stopped talking and possessed the president's ear to remind him of Kane's arrival.

Gordon raised his head and saw Kane, standing up slowly like a normal old man. If Kane didn't know that he was a color-level strongman, he would have taken it seriously.

His beard showed up as he stood up, from three long braids yesterday to five equal braids today.

"Did it disturb your work, President?" Kane scratched his hair and asked embarrassedly.

Gordon shook his head and said calmly, "Don't take it to heart, tedious paperwork is always meaningless and endless."

As soon as he finished speaking, a mist appeared and disappeared in his ears, as if he had received some message, and then there was an obvious magic wave coming from his body.

"If you have any questions, you can ask Nando, he will answer it for you." After leaving these words, Gordon disappeared directly from the place with the release of magic.

"Ahem!" Nando's voice drew Kane's attention back.

"Now if you have any questions, you can ask me, and I will tell you everything, sir," Nando said, holding his hand.

"Oh, okay, then I'll trouble Mr. Nando." After saying that, Kane began to raise his own questions.

"What exactly is a dungeon? What does it represent? What does it bring?" After listening to Kane's question, Nando slowly said

"Dungeons are the 'food' of our world. According to existing theories, dungeons are the product of the world absorbing fragments of other worlds, and those of us who rely on the world to survive need to go in and explore, consuming the energy of the dungeon.

The monsters inside are copies of the original life in their place, helping the dungeon to prevent people like us from helping the world digest it."

Nando paused, took a sip of water and continued.

"So the monsters in the dungeon will be resurrected indefinitely before the dungeon runs out of energy, and they are full of hostility when they see explorers like us. Of course, some dungeons are special, and you can only understand these by yourself later."

"And when we help the world, the world will give back to us. Various power systems from other worlds are absorbed and learned by the world, and then fed back to us in the form of skills.

Novel knowledge, culture, systems, and races make the civilization of our world colorful and develop rapidly."

"So after these monsters die, the equipment that falls out is also a reward in the world, right?" Kane asked the last question.

"Of course, this is just the most basic gift of the fog. There are still many magics in the fog waiting for you to explore," Nando said with a smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Nando, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions for me. I won't disturb you anymore. I'll take my leave now."

"If you are ready to become an explorer and explore more magical dungeons, you can come to the camp and we will provide you with a free teleportation."

Nando clearly understands the appeal of exploration and adventure to young people. Not to mention that this is a new Mist Warrior who will need this opportunity.

"Thank you, I'll bother Mr. Nando when you're ready." After saying that, Kane said goodbye and left.

Kara town at noon

The town at this time is the busiest time of the day, with merchants, workers, and villagers from surrounding villages infusing vitality into this small town.

Kane was walking on the gravel road in the township. The drizzle in the morning made the road slightly muddy.

This short journey allowed him to discover magical reactions that were not found in several small towns. These people were all armed and wandering on the road in groups of three or five.

There were also many minor nobles and officials from small towns standing on the roadside whispering. The place where these people appeared was originally from a small town 50 miles away, not this small town in a remote mountainous area.

I quickly came to Uncle Gemu's house and knocked on the door. The person who opened the door was Uncle Gemu's son.

When Little Gemu saw the person coming, he said in surprise, "Dad, Brother Kane is back."

After saying that, he whispered to Kane, "I wanted to find you yesterday, but dad said you went hunting. Did you succeed in hunting? Did you hunt any monsters?"

Kane smiled, touched his head, and put the bird eggs he picked up on the way back into his arms.

"Ah" Little Gom exclaimed, then lowered his voice and sneaked upstairs with the bird eggs, not forgetting to wink at Kane on the way.

"What's wrong with this kid?"

"nothing"

"Then why are you still standing at the door? Come in quickly." Uncle Gemu came over and patted him on the shoulder, inviting Kane into the house.

"Have you got a meal yet?"

There are a total of 3 eggs in the "eaten" bird's nest.

After asking Kane to sit down, Uncle Gemu came over with two cups of green tea.

"I heard that a dungeon in the woods has been opened, and there are a group of wolf corpses next to it. I was wondering if you were introduced there. Now that you are back, I feel relieved. I don't know if it was the unlucky guy who was introduced.

Go in, and I heard it's a copper-colored dungeon." It seemed that he was reassured after he was sure it wasn't Kane, and he started chatting with Kane while holding a tea cup.

"Uh..." Kane was speechless for a moment.

"What's wrong?" Seeing Kane's hesitant expression, Gemu asked in concern.

Kane frowned and said with an embarrassed look, "I'm the unlucky guy."

"Oh, so you are the unlucky one." Kane didn't seem to realize what he meant.

"What! Are you the unlucky guy who was lured into the dungeon?" He seemed to be so shocked that his voice broke.

He threw away the teacup in his hand, grabbed Kane and turned it over and over to see if he was injured.

After some troubles to confirm that there was no external injury, he still asked uneasily, "Are you injured?"

"No, don't worry," Kane said helplessly. The Gorm family were the best people to Kane after his parents left. It can be said that they raised him as their own son, so he didn't dislike Gorm.

care.

"That's good. If you do anything wrong because of my entrustment, your aunt will never forgive me in her lifetime."

"Stay for dinner, and then tell us all about your experience in the dungeon. I'll go out and ask your aunt to buy more vegetables, and pick up your commission money on the way."

After saying that, he didn't give Kane a chance to refuse and walked straight out. Of course, Kane wouldn't refuse.

Sitting on the stool, looking at the ceiling, thinking about how to say goodbye to them at night.
