Section 19 Black Wind Ridge

After drinking Wukong's rudeness, Xuanzang's conversation with Zen Master Jinchi gradually turned to Buddhist scriptures. Soon, Xuanzang discovered that the old master had a wide range of knowledge about Buddhist scriptures and had a unique understanding. He always had incisive remarks, which made him more and more admire him, and he repeatedly spoke and asked for advice like a disciple.

When it was dinner, the monks in the temple brought some exquisite vegetarian dishes. Zen Master Jinchi invited Master Xuanzang to enjoy it together. Xuanzang praised the meal and even more favorable to the hospitality old monk.

After dinner, Xuanzang still wanted to pull Zen Master Jinchi to ask for teaching Buddhism. Wukong advised: "Master, we have been on our way for many days. Why not sleep early today? Let Zen Master Jinchi go back and rest. If you really want to discuss Zen, it's better for us to stay in this temple for two more days."

Xuanzang then said reluctantly: "The old master is profound in Buddhism. I will benefit a lot from listening to your words today. Tomorrow, I will definitely ask more questions in my heart."

Zen Master Jinchi said happily: "I dare not, I dare not, the holy monk understands his mind and nature. Buddhism is actually not inferior to me. I just took advantage of how many years I was. After years of hard practice, I was able to discuss it with the holy monk, so that I could not let down what I learned in my heart."

After saying that, Xuanzang sent Zen Master Jinchi away with the courtesy of his disciples, but turned to Wukong and told him: "Wukong, this Master Jinchi is a great monk of the age. It is a blessing for him to preach for his master. You must not act rudely again tomorrow."

Wukong showed a smile and said, "Since the master is so arrogant to him, the disciples will naturally be more restrained. I will just see him without saying a word tomorrow."

After saying that, the master and apprentice each repaired their own work and then rested in the room.

Late at night, Xuanzang was sleeping soundly, but suddenly he was awakened by a noisy sound outside. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Wukong had already stood up and was standing beside him, as if he was listening to something.

He hurriedly asked, "Wukong, what happened outside? Why is it so noisy?"

Wukong smiled and said, "It turns out that he woke up his master. In such a large temple, even if something happens, the monks in the temple will deal with it. We guests don't have to worry, you just need to sleep."

Xuanzang sat up and shook his head and said, "Wukong, the Wanghai Zen Temple treats you and me so much, so we should be grateful. If there is something in the temple, we must not stop watching. Come, please go out and take a look with your teacher."

Wukong had no choice but to help Xuanzang get out of bed. As soon as the two of them pushed the door out, they saw a group of monks running over hurriedly. The first one was the two who had greeted them at the door before, and shouted: "No, no, something big happened. The holy monk of the Tang Dynasty, please save my old home owner."

Xuanzang hurriedly asked, "What happened to Master Jinchi? Dear masters, please tell me quickly. If I use the place where I am using it, I will naturally not refuse."

The leading monk said, "The holy monk didn't know anything. At night, there was a monster in the temple and captured my old courtyard owner. I don't know what the monster had to do with the holy monk. But I said I wanted to use the holy monk to replace him. I don't know what to do, so I asked the holy monk to make an idea for us."

Xuanzang was shocked and said, "What happened? Who dared to be so arrogant to come to this pure Buddhist place to catch people? But he still said that he was coming to me. Don't worry, my disciple has a strong magic power, so he will definitely have a way to save people. Wukong, Master Jinchi is not bad to me, you must help me."

Wukong shook his head and said, "Master, don't worry, Zen Master Jinchi has a very high cultivation level, which is better than the four great Vajras in Buddhism. How could he be captured by monsters casually? This matter is probably a bit strange."

The leading monk said, "Elder Sun doesn't know that the three monsters are so fierce that they are powerful. They can overturn a house with one palm. The owner of my family used Buddhist Technique to fight him. Unfortunately, he is outnumbered after all. I just regret that I only know how to recite scriptures but no one understands the real magic. I can't help at all. I can only watch the owner of the family being captured. I feel guilty." As he spoke, he was already crying.

At this time, the other monks also knelt down and bowed and said, "The Holy Monk of the Tang Dynasty, please save my old home."

Xuanzang hurriedly said, "Everyone, please get up quickly. The owner of the old courtyard suffered for me. I will definitely not sit idly by. I just don't know where the monster is now?"

The leading monk said, "The monster once said that they lived on the Black Wind Ridge two hundred miles north of the north, but they didn't know how the Holy Monk planned to save people?"

Xuanzang turned to Wukong and said, "Wukong, if you refuse to save someone, I will send you to Heifengling. I am willing to replace him with myself. No matter what, I must save the old master."

Wukong hurriedly said, "What is the master saying? With his disciple here, how could he look at you serving the demon with his body? Don't worry, I'll go and save people now, and see if there is really a powerful person who dares to attack me, Lao Sun."

Xuanzang said happily: "As long as you are willing to save people, please go and go back quickly, and be careful." The other monks also hurriedly bowed and said, "Thank you Elder Sun for your kindness."

Wukong nodded and was about to leave, but suddenly remembered something, turned around and asked, "By the way, where is my master's white horse now?"

The monks hurriedly said, "I am feeding you well in the front yard."

Goku said: "Go and take it here quickly."

The monks did not dare to hesitate and hurriedly led the white dragon horse to the outside of the wing room. Wukong nodded slightly to the horse, gave a meaningful look, and then shook his body and turned into a ray of light and headed north.

Soon, Wukong flew under a mountain and saw the black fog rolling in the mountain, as if thick smoke never dissipated all day long, and then he knew that he had found the right place.

Without anyone else leading the way, he directly found the thickest part of the black fog. He vaguely saw a cave in front of him, with three big words "Black Wind Cave" written on the gate. His mouth curled slightly, and he listened for a while, then shouted: "The monster in the cave comes out and speaks, and your grandfather Sun is here."

There were echoes, but there was no response. Wukong sneered in his heart and said, "Old Sun came to your door in person, which has given you great face. I'll call you three times. If you don't come out again, don't blame Lao Sun for being rude."

As he said that, he counted loudly, but before the three words were spoken, his eyes suddenly changed, and the iron rod in his hand crashed into the thick fog behind him like eyes.

With a tinging sound, the iron rod seemed to hit something small. However, although this thing was small, the force contained was not low. It actually hit Wukong three steps away, but his face became solemn, and he snorted coldly: "Good magic weapon."
