Section 165: Che Chi Country

In the main hall of Donglai Island, the Buddha Donglai sat upright in the middle, Emperor Donghua sat on the side, and below were several confidant Bodhisattvas standing, as well as the three stars of blessing, longevity and wealth coming from Sanxing Island.

The Buddha Donglai still had a smile on his face. After listening to Emperor Donghua's intentions, he said: "Emperor, it seems that the Jade Emperor has found out the matter and made this decision just now. In this way, although my Dongtian has lost some disciples, his strength in the Heavenly Court has increased a lot, which is a matter of gain or loss."

Emperor Donghua frowned and said angrily: "In the Jade Emperor's will, although the Jade Emperor has added eighteen divine general positions to my Dongtian in the Lei tribe, it also asked Xitian to send one more great Bodhisattva into the Middle Land, but I don't know what the purpose is?"

The Buddha from Donglai shook his head slightly and said with a smile: "Can't you see this? The Jade Emperor's move is to supplement the losses of my East and West Heaven, and to remind you and me that there is someone else behind the affairs of the Wuji Kingdom. We must not lose our minds and let the real culprit go."

Emperor Donghua was stunned and said, "The affairs of Wuji Kingdom were clearly taken by people from the West, but why did it say that there was another person?"

The Buddha from Donglai sighed: "The emperor should not pay too much attention to appearance when he sees things, but he ignores the most critical result. As soon as this happened, I lost eighteen gods in the east, but there was a big bodhisattva who stood alone in the west. No one can take advantage of it. Who is the person behind the scenes? Isn't it a big shot?"

Emperor Donghua was not a fool after all. After hearing this, he suddenly said: "Is it actually the Taoist sect's actions that were to weaken the strength of the Buddhist sects in the east and west at the same time?"

The Buddha Donglai nodded and said, "Yes, I have always advised you not to rush to take action. It is precisely because of this speculation that it seems that there is no mistake now that the Jade Emperor's will is verified."

Emperor Donghua said angrily: "So, my eighteen disciples, Lingji Bodhisattva under your seat, by the way, the deaths of the disciples of my Futang are actually all secretly attacking the Taoist sect? How could I let it go with him when these three purities bully me Dongtian like this?"

The Buddha Donglai smiled slightly, and two rays of light shot out from his eyes, saying, "Of course, we can't give up. Someone must pay some of the blood debts of the disciples. However, I, Dongtian, should not act rashly, so as not to fight against him and make Xitian free."

Emperor Donghua hurriedly said, "What the Buddha said is very good, but he doesn't know how to act?"

The Buddha Donglai was silent for a while, and suddenly changed his mind and said, "By the way, I'm going to calculate the days. The master and disciple of Tang Monk who was seeking scriptures have passed the mountain, right?"

The Huangmei Bodhisattva below said: "Report to the Buddha, there is indeed news that Master Xuanzang and his disciple had just crossed Mount Hao three days ago and had a little upset with the child of the Great Saint of Pingtian. He has continued to travel west now."

The Buddha from the East pondered and said, "The mountain is the branch of Kunlun. Walking forward further, it is the foot of the real Kunlun Mountain. Kunlun Mountain has been the temple of Yuanshi Tianzun since ancient times. If that group of people had something to do, I am afraid that the Taoist sect and the faces of the West may not be able to sit still.

Emperor, your little disciple Tianpeng is also among the group. It would be better for him to provoke trouble and force the Xitian to take action first, and I will wait for an opportunity to act in the east, so that we can make the best decision.”

Emperor Donghua heard the name of Tianpeng and was silent for a while. After saying, "Buddha, although Tianpeng is my disciple, he has already gone to the Heavenly Court to be an official. Later, he was punished by the Jade Emperor, and I have never come forward to protect him. I am afraid I am already resentful. Now that I think about it, he has come forward to report the news about Lingji and Wuji Kingdom, but it may not be An's kindness."

The Buddha from Donglai sighed: "Human hearts have always been unpredictable, and it is not impossible. In this way, the emperor should hand over this matter to Tianpeng. If he really has two hearts, he will inevitably be exposed. If everything is just a coincidence, we should not blame the good people."

Emperor Donghua suddenly said when he heard this: "Yes, let Tianpeng stir up a dispute between Master Xuanzang and Taoist sect. If you can go forward, you can kill someone with a knife, and you can retreat. You can test the spy. It is indeed a killing of two birds with one stone. Everything is based on the Buddha's order."

After saying that, he discussed the details with the Buddha Donglai and led the Three Stars of Fushoulu to leave Donglai Island.

Besides, the four masters and disciples of Xuanzang left Hushan and continued to travel westward. In less than a month, they came outside a bustling city. When they looked up, they saw three big words written on the city gate - Chechi Kingdom.

When Xuanzang saw the people coming and going in the city, the people were living and working in peace and contentment, he couldn't help but sigh: "I heard before that although the Western Regions are located in a remote place, the small country and the people are happy, and now it seems that it is true. The Baoxiang Kingdom, the Wuji Kingdom, and the Che Chi Kingdom in front of him all seem to be quite prosperous. The people are happy, and they are not much inferior to the Tang Dynasty. I just hope that everything in Che Chi Kingdom is safe, so we should not cause any trouble."

But Wukong said, "Master is saying this badly. Our master and disciple have never caused trouble. But those things come to the door and cannot be avoided. Look, the people who come and go to see us, they all avoid us from afar, as if they have encountered a plague god. Lao Sun is afraid that there is still some trouble in the city."

Xuanzang was stunned when he heard this and hurriedly looked around. The people were indeed avoiding their masters and disciples, and they were shocked and said, "As it turns out, is it because you three are too ugly and scared these people?"

Sha Seng interrupted, "Master, according to what my disciples see, the people in Chechi Kingdom may not be afraid of the appearance of the three of us, but the identity of our monk."

Xuanzang said strangely: "Mns have always been kind and do not fight with the world. What are the people afraid of us?"

Sha Seng pointed to the mountain not far outside the city and said, "Master, that mountain is the famous Kunlun Mountain among the Three Realms. It is the place where Yuanshi Tianzun, the head of the Three Pure Land, is. The Chechi Kingdom is at the foot of Kunlun Mountain, and is naturally a place where Taoism flourishes. When we see people from Buddhism, we will inevitably feel alienated."

Xuanzang suddenly said, "So that's it. Although the two sects of Buddhism and Taoism are both educating the world, there are still differences in sects, and it is inevitable that one will rise and fall. Since this is the case in Chechi Kingdom, we don't have to force it. Just go to the city to meet the king, hand over the letter of the country, and leave as soon as possible."

The disciples all claimed yes and followed Xuanzang to the city.

Unexpectedly, when he arrived at the city gate, the soldiers guarding the gate surrounded him and asked four people to pay the taxes entering the city to let go. Monks did not pay taxes, which has always been the rule of all countries in the world. Unexpectedly, it was not easy to use in this country.

Xuanzang was not willing to make trouble, so he had to pay the money obediently, but a few Taoist priests happened to pass by. Not only did the soldiers not ask for money, but they were respectful, which also caused dissatisfaction among the three disciples.

Such a derogatory despise Buddhism and worship of Taoism is the only one that can be seen along the way.

Bajie was about to have a fight with the soldiers, but fortunately Xuanzang stopped him in time and paid more money. The master and disciple entered the city safely.
