Chapter IV Interrogation(1/2)

Ministry of Magic.

Tenth floor underground.

"Umbridge, is everyone here?"

Fudge stood outside the door of the first courtroom and turned to ask a woman beside him.

"Yes, Mr. Minister." Umbridge lowered her voice and said, "The Wizengamot Councilors have arrived, and the prisoners are already in place, waiting for your call."

Fudge nodded, looked down at his clothes, then took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

The courtroom is a deep dark room.

The walls around here are made of black stone, and the light from the torches is dim and eerie.

On both sides of the room are rows of empty benches that gradually rise. On the highest benches, there are many wizards wearing purple-red robes with a delicate silver W embroidered on their left chest.

They had been whispering just now, but when the heavy door closed behind Fudge, they all fell silent.

"Good afternoon everybody."

Fudge greeted everyone with a smile.

Some members of the Wizengamot also responded with smiles.

But more people had sullen faces, acting as if they didn't care much about Fudge.

Fudge didn't care either.

He took Umbridge to sit on the referee's seat at the deepest part of the courtroom, waved his hand and said:

"Now that everyone is here, let's take the prisoner."

The Auror guarding the door immediately pushed open the door of the courtroom.

Soon, another group of Aurors pressed Michael into the courtroom.

Michael looked very haggard at this time.

In just a few days, his blond hair had turned completely white.

The dry and messy hair that looked like withered grass covered his head and face, and combined with his sluggish expression, made him look like a madman.

The Aurors almost dragged the ragged Michael into the courtroom, and then pressed him on a chair in the center of the courtroom.

On the armrests of the chair are chains on the left and right.

The moment Michael sat down, they seemed to come alive, tying up the defenseless Michael tightly.

"Good, let's get started."

Fudge said loudly, "The trial on July 13th! The former Auror - Michael Townley, codenamed 'Townley', violated Article 3, Article 21, Article 21 of the Magical Laws - Measures for the Management of Wizarding Behavior"

Article 23, Article 47..."

Michael was accused of many crimes.

Fudge read for five or six minutes before closing the materials in his hands, raising his head and saying:

"Interrogators: Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic; Amelia Bones, Director of the Department of Legal Enforcement; Dolores Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary.

The defendant, Michael Townley, will now elaborate on the first charge against you.

On August 31, 1994, you attacked and imprisoned former Auror Alastor Moody, a move that violated Article 3 of the Regulations on the Management of the Behavior of Adult Wizards!

Michael Townley!

Do you admit the above charges against you?"

Fudge's answer was endless silence.

It was as if Michael had been cast by a spell. He looked dumb and stupid, tied to a chair without saying a word.

"The defendant, Michael Townley! Don't think you can escape trial with this negative attitude! We have collected all the evidence, which is enough to prove your crime!"

While speaking, Umbridge came out and distributed the documents in her hand to every Wizengamot member present.

"Look, everyone, this is the testimony of Alastor Moody. We have rescued him!" Fudge said loudly, "Due to physical and mental reasons, Moody himself is unwilling to appear in court. But.

He still admitted to being assaulted by Michael Townley!"

The congressmen looked through the information in their hands and let out a series of exclamations.

Seeing this, the corners of Fudge's mouth slightly raised and he continued:

"Then move on to the next charge! Defendant Michael Townley, on September 1, 1994, you impersonated former Auror Alastor Moody to sneak into Hogwarts and stayed in Hogwarts for a long time.

Conducting activities of lurking and persecuting students inside. This behavior violates Article 21 and Article 23 of the "Regulations on the Administration of Wizard Behavior"! Do you admit the above charges against you?"

Michael remained silent.

Seeing this, the smile on Fudge's face became even brighter.

It's all part of his plan.

All the evidence chains have been completed, and Michael Townley himself has been cursed, unable to refute.

As long as he announces the charges one by one and presents the evidence, Michael Townley will be thrown into the abyss.

Then, he will hold a press conference with the trial results.

Let the Daily Prophet spread the word.

In this way, not only is his promise to the goblins fulfilled, but he can also win the hearts and minds of the people!

However, just as he was about to call the next piece of evidence, Percy Weiss broke into the courtroom and ran quickly towards the referee's chair.

This scene made many congressmen present frown.

Fudge was even more dissatisfied.

As a small liaison officer who had just been transferred from the Department of International Magical Cooperation to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Percy was not qualified to enter this kind of trial venue.

But when Percy leaned into Fudge's ear and whispered a few words, Fudge's face instantly turned pale.

Gringotts, something happened!

Just now, someone actually raided Gringotts!

That man not only released the fire dragon in the underground vault, but also poisoned the underground vault!

According to current rough estimates, although no wizard was harmed at the scene, the death toll of goblins reached hundreds!

And this number keeps rising!

"Mr. Minister, Gringotts requires us to immediately send all the elite Aurors to support." Percy said nervously, "Do we... really want to do this?"

This question is completely nonsense!

Fudge roared in his heart.

Gringotts was his middleman in making deals with the French goblins.

Currently, the first batch of 30,000 Galleons of resources promised by the French goblin is lying in Gringotts!

At the same time, Gringotts is also one of the windows for him to show his friendly attitude towards the goblins.

No matter what, nothing can happen to Gringotts!

Well, something has happened at Gringotts!

But even if something goes wrong, he must show a positive attitude towards handling it!

"Get the Auror headquarters ready right away!" Fudge gritted his teeth and said, "I will personally take all the Aurors there in a moment!"

Percy was shocked and said:

"You want to go in person? But what about the trial? And... the men who will escort Michael Townley will be escorted later..."

Fudge interrupted:

"Stop talking nonsense! I will handle the trial! As for the escort manpower, separate two teams of Aurors and follow me. The remaining team of Aurors should be enough to escort Michael Townley!"

After saying that, Fudge waved his hand to drive Percy away, then put on a serious face again and said:

"Everyone, considering the passive resistance of the defendant Michael Townley, and to save everyone's time, I have decided to use the rapid interrogation mode next."

Upon hearing this, Umbridge immediately understood.

He took out a large stack of information from the bag and began to distribute it to every Wizengamot member present.

Fudge began to recite the accusations against Michael Townley one by one and recount the relevant chain of evidence.

By the time he finished reading everyone's words, the Wizengamot councilors were already in a mess.

Fudge's words and the information he gave are really shocking.

If everything is true, then Michael is simply a more terrifying demon than Voldemort!

For a time, the whole courtroom was extremely noisy, and the members of the court were all arguing among themselves.

But Fudge didn't give them much time.

"Now, please vote! If you support the establishment of the accusation, please raise your hands!"
