454 Internet Poetry

On the train back to Rotterdam, the two of them talked about their current situation. Xia Hongjun talked about his own party in Shencheng, and Professor Chen Yunji of the Chinese Department of Fuhua University told Song Zhenzhen about the translation of Tang poetry.

"It's great... I'm at Columbia University, and many foreign students like our country's poetry, especially ancient poetry. The book "The Book of Songs" you translated is very popular and the translation is great." Song Zhenzhen replied with a smile.

"You have also made contributions to this. And the "Selected Chinese Modern Poetry" thanks to your help. Song Zhenzhen, would you like to cooperate with the translation of Tang poetry again?"

"OK....."

It is of course a pleasant thing to be able to collaborate with Xia Hongjun to translate poems.

Xia Hongjun thought of another thing and asked: "Song Zhenzhen, I heard Yang Li say that you have established a Chinese poetry club at Columbia University?" Yang Xia Hongjun asked.

"Well... At first I was a little worried and afraid that no one would participate. But later I found that there were many people who like Chinese poetry, and in addition to our Chinese students, there were also many foreign students!" When talking about poetry, Song Zhenzhen became excited.

“We also set up a news group!”

"News Group?" Xia Hongjun was a little confused.

"This...oh, I can't explain it in one sentence or two. I'll find a place to tell you tomorrow!"

In the evening, Song Zhenzhen stayed in the Tulip Hotel and participated in a poetry recitation early the next morning. Just after lunch, Song Zhenzhen couldn't wait to pull Xia Hongjun out of the hotel.

"Why do you go?"

"Follow me!"

Song Zhenzhen talked directly to the waitress in English at the first floor bar.

Damn it!

It turned out to be Helen, a waiter I met in the red light district last night!

this.....

Work is quite hard, and I have to come to work during the night shift at night.

Helen also noticed that Xia Hongjun, who came down with Song Zhenzhen, did not show any shame on his face because of the chance encounter last night. Instead, she was very calm and took the initiative to say hello to Xia Hongjun.

never mind.....

We can't figure out what foreign girls think.

Xia Hongjun listened carefully to the conversation between the two girls and realized that Song Zhenzhen asked about the road to Erasmus University in Rotterdam again.

Erasmus University Rotterdam is a famous university in the Netherlands and is also famous internationally. It is named after the famous Dutch humanist thinker Desidrius Erasmus, a medieval Dutch humanist thinker. Xia Hongjun is also preparing to find time to visit this famous school specifically, but what is Song Zhenzhen in such a hurry to do?

Ask the girl, the girl won’t tell her.

Following Helen's instructions, the two took a bus to Erasmus University, not far from the city center.

Like other European universities, they are basically open-ended, with beautiful scenery and green trees. Now that the university has not yet been on holiday, Song Zhenzhen casually found a girl and talked for a few more words and went straight to the school's library.

What surprised Xia Hongjun was that Song Zhenzhen did not read books in the library but went to the fifth floor. Xia Hongjun discovered that there was a microcomputer room here! Many students were sitting in front of the computer and were doing something.

Why use a computer?

Before Xia Hongjun could ask, Song Zhenzhen had already walked in.

As a non-school student, you cannot use a computer, but the Columbia University doctoral student ID card that Song Zhenzhen brought with her played a decisive role. The teacher in the classroom gave up his hands and let this oriental girl go.

Power on, self-test...

There is no windows scene that Xia Hongjun was familiar with before on the screen, but a series of English letters.

Oh, I haven't had a computer for a long time. I forgot that Win95 has not yet come out, and it is still the world of Dos.

Song Zhenzhen was proficient in typing on the keyboard, and soon the English version of win3.1 interface appeared again. The mouse clicked on an icon like a phone. After passing, the interface full of English icons appeared.

"Xia Hongjun,! It's called the Internet in Chinese, which is the most fashionable in American universities!" Song Zhenzhen typing on the keyboard with both hands and whispered in a low voice, looking very excited.

turn out to be,

She was taking herself to surf the Internet.

But the internet speed is too slow, right? It's like a snail.

"Xia Hongjun,?" Song Zhenzhen was not surprised at all when she saw Xia Hongjun, and was a little strange.

When she first met the Internet at the Columbia Library last year, she was so excited that she didn't sleep well that night, she seemed to see another world.

Why is this guy indifferent?

"No, the first time..." Xia Hongjun said hurriedly.

Song Zhenzhen didn't say anything else. After the login interface appeared, she typed a set of account and passwords. After that, another interface appeared, as if it was an email system in later generations.

Suddenly, Xia Hongjun opened Yanjing wide, and Chinese actually appeared on the screen, which was still a poem!

"This is a Chinese version of the news group developed by our international students studying IT at Columbia University. I applied for an account specifically for publishing poetry! Many of our poetry clubs communicate through the Internet! How about it, cool, right?"

Song Zhenzhen said here with a proud look on her face.

But Xia Hongjun stood there blankly.

Online poetry is here!

His appearance, like online novels, is like a flood that has impacted physical literature.

But what is even more sad is that poetry exchanges and entertainment, creative mentality becomes more impetuous, and language presents vulgarity directly drives poetry into a place that is doomed.

The brightest pearl in the crown of the past literature was completely covered with a thick layer of dirt and was forgotten in a corner.

"An angel or a devil in the virtual world?" In later generations, Xia Hongjun once read an analysis of the pros and cons of online poetry on the Internet.

But whether you like it or hate it, it has come!

"Xia Hongjun, how is this poem I wrote? Please correct me." Song Zhenzhen's tone was a little shy.

Xia Hongjun came back to his senses from his random thoughts and looked carefully.

It's a poem:

To Us

No matter how many years I know,

Changes in the world,

Many people gathered and parted,

I am still me, and you are still you.

We, still us

.....

......

To us?

Xia Hongjun felt a different feeling from this novel.

“Very good.”

He said softly.

On the way back, Song Zhenzhen was still very excited and talked about the situation where their poetry club communicated poetry through the Internet.

"There is a member of our poetry club named George who went to school at the University of Alaska. He joined our news group by chance. He liked poetry but did not understand Chinese. So I sent him some of the poems you compiled in "The Book of Songs". He replied, "God, there are such wonderful poems in the world."

"Actually... it is the most beautiful to read the original text, right? Xia Hongjun?" The girl looked at Xia Hongjun's side face.

Xia Hongjun seemed to be thinking about something, but suddenly came to his senses by this question.

"What's wrong with you today? You're absent-minded." Song Zhenzhen was a little dissatisfied.

"I'll join your poetry club?" Xia Hongjun suddenly said.

"Okay, okay...but you are in the country, I heard that there is no Internet in China yet." Song Zhenzhen said.

"There will definitely be in the future, and it won't take long!" Xia Hongjun was very confident.

He remembers that China's first Internet company seemed to be called Yinghaiwei, and it seemed that it was in 1995 that it provided Internet services!

"Not yet, I will send you the poems written by a few of us. If you post them online, your news group will definitely develop into websites in the future, and you will become the best Chinese online poetry magazine in the world!"
