Chapter 807: The wool comes out of the sheep

. "Then how did you answer?" After returning to the hotel in the evening, Shen Ying asked Fan Wubing on the bed.

"What else can I do?" Fan Wubing shrugged, "List No. 1 can speak at a rare moment. Just such a small request, can I still push it off? Of course, I agreed."

"But how do you deal with so much wool?" Shen Ying was very troubled by Fan Wubing.

New Zealand is the world's third largest wool producer, with wool production accounting for about 14% of the world's world's second largest wool exporter, and wool export trade accounts for about 12% of the world's world.

The sheep farming industry in New Zealand began in the late 18th century and was first brought into it by British colonists. In the 1850s, a large-scale sheep farming industry was launched on natural grass along the coast of the north and south islands, with the total number of sheep raised to more than 300,000.

At the end of the 19th century, with the emergence of New Zealand's gold mines and the influx of foreign immigrants, the demand for mutton continued to increase. In addition, after the emergence of frozen ships, mutton could be exported in large quantities. The sheep breeds raised in New Zealand gradually transitioned from merino sheep, which mainly produces wool, to British sheep, which uses both wool meat.

By the 1930s, the number of sheep raised increased to 30 million, becoming one of the world's major wool producers and exporters, and basically formed a pasture management pattern that produces semi-fine wool sheep and wool meat and uses sheep.

After World War II, New Zealand first applied and promoted aircraft sowing grass and topsoil fertilization in the world, turning most natural pastures into high-yield improved pastures. They generally adopted fence-raising sheep, and carried out sheep selection and breeding according to local conditions. They adopted advanced sheep breeding technology and management systems. Together with Australia, they became an advanced sheep breeding country. By 1971, the sheep breeding volume reached nearly 60 million.

Later, after the UK joined the European Community, New Zealand lost its traditional main export market, and the trend of the sheep farming industry was suppressed. Since then, the New Zealand government continued to implement high welfare policies and subsidize industrial and agricultural products exports. In addition, the popularity of natural fiber clothing has led to an increase in wool consumption in the world market. New Zealand's sheep farming industry has recovered. The early 1980s was the most glorious period of New Zealand's sheep farming industry, with the number of sheep heads exceeding 70 million, setting a record high.

However, since the late 1980s, due to the weakening of the comparative advantages of the sheep farming industry, New Zealand's sheep farming industry has shown a downward trend, and the sheep feeding volume has decreased to more than 40 million.

The sheep farming industry is the main industry on which New Zealand farmers and herdsmen rely for survival. One out of every twelve people in the country is engaged in sheep production.

"I have read the information. The way New Zealand wool circulation is sold through the wool auction market and purchased directly from wool producers by individual retailers. The former accounts for more than 60% of the total wool sales. Therefore, changes in the price of the New Zealand wool auction market will guide the overall price trend of New Zealand wool." Fan Wubing said to Shen Ying, "But if we deal with the official directly with the government, we will probably suffer a loss in price. This is why Chief No. 1 asked me to take over this business."

In recent years, wool exports have been affected to a certain extent due to the cancellation of subsidies for agriculture by the New Zealand government. In recent years, wool exports have been below 200,000 tons. Last year, due to the impact of the Southeast Asian financial crisis, the demand for wool in the Asian market was not strong, so New Zealand's wool exports will probably drop to about 150,000 tons this year, which can be said to be the lowest level in history.

It is precisely for this reason that the New Zealand government is considering establishing good relations with China in order to recognize China's market economy status in exchange for solving this important issue that is enough to affect New Zealand's economy.

The New Zealand wool export market is relatively scattered, among which China and the United Kingdom are the two main export markets, and about one-third of the wool is exported to China and the United Kingdom. In the past two years, China's wool textile raw materials demand structure has shifted to worsted raw materials, while the UK has a strong demand for hybrid wool. Therefore, the number of wool exported to the United Kingdom by New Zealand has shown an upward trend year by year. Due to the prosperity of the wool market in mainland China, New Zealand's wool exports to China have also been greatly affected.

"In other words, once you agree to this matter, it is very likely that you will lose money?" Shen Ying leaned on Fan Wubing's back and watched him check the various information he had just collected on his laptop. "And the sudden increase in the import of New Zealand wool will also cause a relatively large impact on the domestic wool market, or it may be strongly opposed by the pastoral people."

"This is not the case." Fan Wubing shook his head and said, "There are still some differences in wool. There are still some differences in the uses of domestic wool and imported wool. As long as it is used properly, it will not cause any big impact."

In fact, the current competition for the domestic wool import market is Australia and New Zealand. As the two largest wool exporters in the world, Australia and New Zealand are inherently competitive.

In recent years, Australia's relationship with China has not been very harmonious. In addition, the production of wool in mainland China has also expanded, so Australia's wool exports to China have been greatly affected, and New Zealand has suffered heavy losses.

However, domestic wool production also has very serious defects. For a long time, in my country, the government has invested funds in most years to purchase good varieties to support fine wool production. The achievements that my country's fine wool production today account for about 40% of the total wool production are inseparable from government support.

Since the reform and opening up, especially in recent years, the country has continued to provide policy preferences and financial support for dairy cattle, beef cattle and beef sheep, but has no investment in wool improvement. The state does not support it, and farmers and herdsmen have gradually faded from comparative benefits, so the overall improvement of wool improvement is in a state of pause and half pause, and at the same time, there has been a resurgence and reverse modification.

The mixed-grade problem of domestic wool mixed has existed for a long time and has not been able to be solved well. This is related to the indifferent hierarchical concept of farmers and herdsmen and has been following the traditional method of hair shearing for many years. It is also related to the main body of hair collection in the circulation link being individual traffickers, with low quality and indifferent hierarchical concepts. In addition, sometimes wool sales are strong, so there is no need to care about so many things, and the basket is full of vegetables.

"There is a very serious problem now, that is, although the domestic wool production has increased, the quality has decreased. Therefore, it cannot be used in high-end clothing fabrics at all, and it is mainly imported wool." Fan Wubing looked at the information and scratched his head. "The biggest problem now is that domestic companies cannot digest so much high-quality wool."

In recent years, due to the impact of the Southeast Asian financial crisis, raw material prices have risen, domestic and foreign textile markets have not yet disappeared, consumption demand for wool textiles is not strong, and product prices have declined.

At present, in addition to some light and thin, high-split wool fabrics and products that adopt new technologies, new processes, and new functions in the market in various places, the mixed wool, coarse wool fabrics, wool sweaters, suits and other products of old faces are still seriously backlog due to their lagging design and traditional varieties.

The dual pressures of rising raw materials and falling product prices have increased the operating difficulties of wool textile enterprises, decreased operating rates and decreased efficiency. According to statistical analysis by the Domestic Wool Textile Industry Research Institute, most of the domestic listed wool textile companies whose main business wool worsted spinning declined, and the losses of state-owned enterprises have increased, and the losses of the entire industry exceeded 60%, which is the serious losses of the state-owned textile industry.

It is true that China is the world's largest consumer market, but if New Zealand wool wants to acquire this potential market in China, it will have to deal with a series of severe technical and marketing challenges.

Competition from other fibers is also very fierce, including artificial fibers at the textile industry level and cotton fibers at the consumer level, and wool gives way to these fibers, especially cotton fibers.

There is a certain gap between the requirements of wool and Chinese consumers. When Chinese consumers are becoming rich and seeking fashionable and high-quality clothing, wool has not communicated with consumers in time. Therefore, consumers are losing interest in wool and do not understand this fiber and what it can be used for?

"Then have you come up with any solution now?" Shen Ying asked Fan Wubing with great concern.

"There are always methods, but there are difficulties and easy things, and it is difficult to decide for a moment." Fan Wubing replied with some reserve.

"Then let's talk about it quickly-" Shen Ying was wearing a thin silk pajama and rubbed her back behind Fan Wubing, making him feel a little angry for a moment. After all, she was newlywed and the young man was full of energy.

"Well——" Fan Wubing came back and grabbed Shen Ying, then pressed her on the bed, and said with a little unstable breath, "One of them is to open several large clothing manufacturers to digest these wool by themselves and produce high-end fabrics. This cost a lot and the effect is slower."

"It's really troublesome to do this. When your factory is built, the wool should be wormed." Shen Ying said as she twisted under Fan Wubing's body.

"There is another simpler." Fan Wubing quickly entered Shen Ying's body.

"What? Oh——————” Shen Ying asked.
