2. Life summary (please refer to "History of the Later Tang Dynasty: The Original Annals of Taoism")

Li Luo (3954-4029), native of Didao County, Longxi, Yongzhou, was a descendant of the former Tang royal family (Longxi Li family), with the courtesy name Zhongzheng, and the founding emperor of the Later Tang Dynasty.

When Li Luo was born, both Jin and Xixia had been destroyed by Mongolia, and the Li family in Longxi had completely declined. At that time, the Mongol Yuan whipped the world, and China was about to fall. Li Luo was determined to restore his ancestral property at a young age. He and his wife Cui Xiuning (Empress Wenming Yide) were in Dongzhou, and met Yan Duo, the royal family of the Jin Kingdom (Zong Yizong of Tang).

Li Luo and Yan Duo became father and son. Yan Duo's old subordinates swear to serve to the death, train the local heroes, and develop Haizhou as the foundation. Later, Li Luo endured humiliation and joined the Yuan court, transferred refugees, and actively planned the great cause of anti-Yuan revival.

In 3981, Li Luo raised the banner of rebellion in the name of Duke of Tang, recaptured Jiangnan, formed an alliance with Xiao Liang and Zhao Song to rebel against the Yuan Dynasty, and basically restored the south. In 3983, Li Luo defeated the coalition forces of Liang, Dali and Song, who allied to attack Tang, and unified the south, proclaimed himself emperor in Jiangling, with the country's name Tang and the reign of Hongwu. Li Luo was the Taozu of Tang.

After Tang Daozu became emperor, he launched three Northern Expeditions, completely drove the Mongol Yuan out of China and restored the great cause of the Han family.

After Tang Daozu became emperor... (more than 10,000 words were saved here) On the first day of October of the 36th year of Hongwu (4018), 64-year-old Tang Daozu abdicated and retired to the Supreme Emperor. However, the imperial court's important military and political affairs still required the consent of the Emperor. In 4029, Tang Daozu died in the Taiji Palace in Chang'an, with the temple name Daozu, and was buried in the Daoling Mountain City of Tangling.
