Chapter 395 Rolling all the way along the long river of history

The court debate on October 11th ended with the complete victory of Liu Xie and Zhuge Liang's interest group.

The clown jumping and clown led by Yan Xiang, the chief clerk of General Wei, finally completely admitted Zhuge Liang's facts and meticulous calculations, and therefore had to temporarily give up the accusation against General Cheqi and Cavalry, Dong Cheng, who was assisting in the administration.

Those remarks that slandered that "Dong Cheng coerced the emperor, causing the emperor to dare not establish a new queen" and the initiative to transfer Dong Cheng from the center also disappeared.

After the court meeting ended, Dong Cheng also adjusted his psychological expectations of guarding against the princes from all sides.

Originally, since Liu Bei killed Li Jue in May, Dong Cheng once regarded Liu Bei and Yuan Shao, the two strongest princes in the world, as the imaginary enemies with the greatest potential threat, in order to preserve his glory and wealth.

When Dong Cheng initially imagined, he did not consider whether the princes themselves were loyal to the emperor and whether they valued the court. He only looked at who had the most soldiers and food, and felt that who had the most ambition to take over the center to control the emperor to drive him away.

It was not until after this that Dong Cheng realized that although Liu Bei and Yuan Shao had many soldiers, they really didn't want to hold you up. Instead, Yuan Shu was more dangerous.

To put it bluntly, this understanding is not a profound thing. Liu Bei, Yuan Shao, Cao Cao's three relatively high IQ princes had already understood it (Yuan Shao's intelligence is a little lower, and he understood it with the help of Yang Xiu), but he couldn't resist Dong Cheng's IQ was low. He had to be threatened to learn from his mistakes before he could understand it.

On the other hand, although Yuan Shu tried to break the central guardian general and disrupt the situation failed, part of his purpose of sending Yan Xiang this time was still achieved, that is, to persuade the emperor to accept the candidates for concubines sent by the princes of various places, and to enthrone the new queen as soon as possible. Who made Yuan Shu and Yan Xiang take the blame for this matter?

Liu Xie finally issued an edict to collect from the governors of various states in late October. In order to prevent disturbing the people, he clearly stated that there were not many people and that they were chosen to be concubines, rather than enriching the palace maids.

This move is actually a bit of a poison to quench thirst. When the situation in the Han Dynasty was stable, there were no powerful women from so many generations to be appointed as queens, because they were afraid that the relatives themselves would be too powerful. Liu Xie was at the end of his journey, knowing that the princes were only left to respect themselves in name, and in order to eliminate local suspicion, he had to come up with this inferior strategy and continue the court first. Even if there are more hidden dangers of internal struggles in the future, he can only talk about it in the future.

After receiving the orders in the local towns, there were only princes such as Liu Bei and Liu Biao. Because his surname was Liu, he could not send the royal family daughters. Liu Bei only returned some escaped palace maids to Liu Xie, and Liu Biao casually found a few daughters from the famous Jingzhou family.

Others who are not named Liu, if they have daughters, they will give them to them, or if they are given to them.

Yuan Shu had a daughter who was abducted by Sun Ce in history after Yuan Shu was defeated and died, and later became Sun Quan's concubine. Now, this daughter has been sent by Yuan Shu.

Cao Cao also sent his daughter, but it was not the Queen Xianmu in history. Because Cao Jie had to be married to Liu Xie in 18 years of Jian'an in history. It is nearly twenty years early, so Cao Cao gave his other eldest daughters. These are all later stories.

Sun Ce himself is still too young, let alone without a daughter, even his youngest sister, Sun Shangxiang, is only 5 years old. Sun Shangxiang was born about a few years before Sun Jian's death. In history, when he married Liu Bei in 208, he was less than 20 years old.

Fortunately, Sun Jian has three daughters, Sun Shangxiang is only the youngest, and two older daughters are younger than Sun Ce and older than Sun Quan. Sun Quan is thirteen years old this year, so the age of "Sun Ce's second sister Sun Quan's second sister" is still appropriate.

Sun's family is fourteen years old this year and married Hongzi, a famous scholar in Qu'a in history. Hongzi was not qualified to be mentioned in the Romance of the Romance. There is only a brief record in "The Three Kingdoms" and its main achievement was to recommend Zhuge Jin to Sun Quan for appointment. In other words, in history, Zhuge Jin entered the Eastern Wu office by Sun Quan's brother-in-law.

Now, everything has changed. The fourteen-year-old Sun family was also sent away. However, the journey from Jiangdong was long, and Liu Xie issued an order in half of October. It was already the twelfth month when he was spread to Danyang. Sun Ce heard that the emperor would move to Luoyang after the New Year, so he asked his sister to wait for a while before setting off in the first month, and went straight to Luoyang, saving the trouble of going to Hongnong.

...

It took the emperor a few months to expand his harem, and there is no need to repeat it for a while.

Let’s talk about Zhuge Liang’s brilliant performance in the impeachment of Yuan Shu’s court, Liu Xie felt that there were a lot of things he wanted to ask for, so he tried to keep Zhuge Liang in the court for a few more days and don’t rush to go back to Chang’an.

At the same time, Liu Xie also issued several decrees on "adjusting official ideology". In addition to flattening Dong Zhongshu's lowering of the Maling as mentioned earlier, the Dong family tablet in the Confucius Temple was removed.

He also removed all the regular abnormal celestial phenomena that Zhuge Liang could currently summarize from the scope of the warning of the will of heaven, and asked Zhuge Liang to further revise the fine-tuning calendar, and even asked Zhuge Liang to review and improve the part about astronomical calculations in "Zhoufeng Arithmetic" and "Nine Chapters of Arithmetic".

Of course, these long-term work are not rushing to be completed in a short time. After all, it took several years for the ancient dynasty to practice the basic simple and repeated calculations, and the basic mental labor is not worthy of Zhuge Liang doing it himself. He must find tools to calculate.

Because the noise was too big, many famous mathematicians from other places came to Hongnong to discuss with each other. These people did not oppose the emperor, but were reluctant to give up because of their path dependence and sunk costs, and did not want to make drastic corrections and re-learning the mathematical knowledge they had learned throughout their lives.

The most typical example is that even Zheng Xuan, who is now living in Beihai County, Qingzhou, can't help it, especially Zheng Xuan heard that the disciples he followed Liu Bei, Xi Lu and Cheng Bing could not count as Zhuge Liang, and admitted Zhuge Liang's academic career, while Guo Yuan was busy in the rear to repair water conservancy and not intervened in this matter.

Zheng Xuan actually arranged a trip to Hongnong and Zhuge Liang to calculate academic qualifications and test which model is more accurate. But unfortunately, no matter how many years Zheng Xuan has been studying, he is just an equivalent of a Ptolemy's geocentric scholar who has calculated the tools such as the equal round of this round and the ultimate.

No matter how well you master mathematical tools, they are not as advanced as others' underlying modeling than you. Just go to the heliocentric theory. Zhuge Liang doesn't need to accumulate profoundly in operations and physics at all. He can use the simplicity of mathematics to defeat Zheng Xuan in one move.

Therefore, Zhuge Liang answered Zheng Xuan's challenge one by one within two months. Finally, Zheng Xuanxin was convinced and said, "The fifth school of calendar is the most difficult thing."

Of course, Zhuge Liang also benefited a lot during the one- or two-month exchange with Zheng Xuan. At least he compared physics and mathematics with history, used Zheng Xuan's rich experience and insights to confirm his algorithms, and understood many of the physical principles behind the ancients' practice.

For example, Zhuge Liang followed Zheng Xuan to learn about the time, characters, and strange stories in the process of practicing history since the Qin and Han Dynasties, and how much difference is there between the previous one after practicing the practice.

Zheng Xuan knows much more about these historical stories than Zhuge Liang. Moreover, Zheng Xuan was originally the number one master of mathematics in the calendar before Zhuge Liang was born, so he naturally said that it was very clear.

Zheng Xuan carefully mentioned in detail how many years the Zhuanxu diligence was adjusted when Emperor Wu of Han sent Sima Qian to repair the Qin Dynasty (not only Sima Qian was cultivated by himself, he was just the Grand Historian, so he was the chief astronomer. The main astronomers in the world were Luo Xiahong, the surname She, and Deng Ping. Luo Xiahong was also the first person in history to create a mud elephant. Zhang Heng of the Eastern Han Dynasty only improved mud elephant)

Then when Emperor Cheng was in the late Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xin was in charge of Tianlu Pavilion and compiled Sima Qian's "Taichu Calendar" as "Santong Calendar". How to adjust the precession and reduce the error.

At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xin was known for knowing the destiny of heaven and was also a Taishi Ling. His character was similar to that of Sima Qian. "The Strategies of the Warring States" and "Shan Hai Jing" were compiled by him and his father Liu Xiang, and "Three Tong Li" was compiled by him. It was also this Liu Xin who discovered the prophecy and divination of "Liu Xiu should be the emperor" and then changed his name to Liu Xiu and wanted to respond to the destiny of heaven, but was killed by Wang Mang.

The "Three Tong Calendar" took seventy or eighty years later. By the time of Emperor Zhang of the Eastern Han Dynasty, around 85 AD, the then Grand Historian editor Xin, Li Fan and others discovered that the cumulative error of the Three Tong Calendar was quite large, so they compiled the calendar again and changed the "Three Tong Calendar" to the "Four Fen Calendar". Zheng Xuan also introduced the historical details in a very good way, which allowed Zhuge Liang to broaden historic horizons.

Some people may wonder: Why is Zheng Xuan so familiar with these? This has to be said that Zheng Xuan actually has a significant historical contribution to mathematics and calendar, that is, after the "Quanjing" was calibrated in 85 AD, it was run for seventy or eighty years. When it arrived at Huan Ling, it was actually not accurate. The cumulative error of the celestial sphere exceeded one day, so Zheng Xuan temporarily calculated it at that time, adjusted the error value and calibrated the "Quanjing" delay.

The reason why Zheng Xuan was later famous in the academic world and became the world's top academic master of "Cai Yong of the Liberal Arts and Zheng Xuan of the Sciences" was closely related to his mistakes in the quarter calendar. They were all major official mathematics achievements that only once every decade or so in nearly a hundred years.

However, after Zhuge Liang communicated with Zheng Xuan, his cognition became even more profound, because Zhuge Liang learned modern physics knowledge with Li Su, and knew that Li Su let him liberate his mind, boldly doubt, and boldly believe that everything in the universe is circling and moving, and the sun may not be the center of the universe.

Zhuge Liang, from the Qin Dynasty to the Qin Dynasty's revision of the calendar, to the later Sima Qian's "Taichu", Liu Xin's "Three Tongs", Li Fan's "Four Fen", and Zheng Xuan's "Four Fen" were keenly aware that "every seventy or eighty years, the error amount will naturally accumulate more than one day, resulting in the calendar having to be readjusted."

Zhuge Liang applied it into the algorithm given to him by Li Su and thought about it himself, and finally calculated that "the sun itself must be rotating around a larger center of void, and the arc of this rotation is very huge, which is almost difficult for him to express. However, the precession caused by this arc can be calculated, which will cause a one-day lag error for every 71 years of operation."

Of course, Zhuge Liang didn't know that the virtual "vacuum point around the sun" that only existed in his formula is actually the center of the Milky Way. He does not have this cognitive ability yet, but he has at least plugged this loophole from a mathematical level.

In this way, the ancient Chinese calendar was no longer necessary to "get paid again every seventy or eighty years" like Sima Qian, Liu Xin, Li Fan, and Zheng Xuan.

Zhuge Liang directly eliminated the work of these simple and repetitive brain workers. After he practiced the "Fourth Century" again, he only needed to postpone the Hunxiang Tiantu for one day every 71 years, so he no longer had to make special legislation.

Later, the set of "Square-center Calendar" summarized by Zhuge Liang was named "Zhuge Four-center Calendar" and was not revised until the end of the feudal system of Chinese civilization.

When Zheng Xuan, when Zhuge Liang summarized all the contributions from Sima Qian to himself in a concise formula, his expression was simply wonderful, like losing his parents.

"From Sima Qian to Liu Xin, to Li Fan, to I, those ancient people who had been wise and calculating for 350 years, were not people who knew the destiny of heaven. But the efforts of each generation of them only allowed the way of heaven to calculate for more than 70 years.

Zhuge Lingshi was able to study the heavens and man, and let the three hundred and fifty years of wise calculations work hard for a day, and then continue to use it for thousands of years without any need to completely push it back. I am 68 years old in vain, and today I am an eye-opener.

I vaguely remember that more than 40 years ago, I studied under the fifth school of the governor of Yanzhou. My teacher taught me that the way to count academic qualifications is to pay attention to talent; a genius, who is not as good as a young man, can reach a height that a foolish person cannot do in his entire life. I didn’t believe in this evil back then, and thought that diligence could make up for his shortcomings, but today I believe it.”

After Zheng Xuan finished speaking, he said goodbye without any regrets. He took a few of his later disciples who accompanied him to return to his hometown in Gaomi County, Beihai County and lived in seclusion. When he left, he just asked Zhuge Liang to give him some drafts so that he could go back and re-examine and repair the imperfect theories he learned from the fifth type.

Xi Lu and Cheng Bing, the disciples of Zheng Xuan who are now officials in the court, all went to see him politely, and they sent him to Luoyang before giving up and returning to Hongnong. Zheng Xuan's admiration along the way also made Xi Lu and others fully realize how terrifying Zhuge Liang's horror in computing power was.

My mentor Zheng Xuan, the world's most famous mathematics master, has always been at a disadvantage after several masters like heavenly masters!

Within a few days, this story was spread unwillingly through the mouths of Xi Lu, Cheng Bing and other disciples of Zheng Xue. Within one or two months, it was spread to the territory of Cao Cao, Yuan Shu, Yuan Shao and Sun Ce.

Although some warriors and warlords never pay attention to mathematics and calendar calculations, they at least know Zheng Xuan's reputation, especially Zheng Xuan is also a nominal teacher of Yuan Shao, and Yuan Shao has asked him to learn some classics.

With Zheng Xuan's willingness to accept the disadvantage, the princes of course understood this explosive news. Even if they were not interested, it would be a good story for a while.

"Have you heard that? A young man next to Liu Bei, who was fifteen years old and Li Su's disciple, was just expressed as Lingtai Ling a few months ago, and was assigned to the power of the Taishi Ling.

Unexpectedly, in just a few months, he talked and laughed at the first time and refuted the Yan Xiang, the leader of Yuan Shu, and several famous scholars in Nanyang, Yingchuan. Then, Zheng Shangshu, who had already retired, came to the door to seek discussion, but was actually impressed by his easy analysis of the calculation.

I heard from Shangshu Zheng that Zhuge Liang's computing power is Sima Qian, Luo Xiahong, Liu Xin, Li Fan, and Zheng Shangshu himself, all of them are not as good as him! I am afraid that this is not another person as arrogant as Li Su. Not only should he be the most contemporary in his studies, but he would also beat the ancients for three hundred years!"

Such feelings often appear in chats between Cao Cao, Xun Yu, Guo Jia, and occasionally in drinking feelings between Yuan Shao, Ju Su, and Guo Tu. Yuan Shao and Cao Cao all unanimously admit that Zhuge Liang was the first mathematician of the Han Dynasty, but they did not know that Zhuge Liang's computing power could be applied in many aspects.

When Li Su criticized Dong Zhongshu and shouted at Cai Yong, did he just express the meaning of "I am not targeting you, I am saying that the great scholars of the Han Dynasty in the past 283 years were all spicy in front of my theory."

Zhuge Liang's move was to beat mathematicians who had been going back to the timeline for 71 years and 4 generations, with a total of 284 years, and he beat philosophers one year more than his mentors.

People are no longer willing to compare themselves with living people of their contemporaries, so what is the sense of accomplishment?

I chased along the long river of history and cut from the first stream of Nantian River to the East River in Penglai. This is what makes me feel.
