Chapter five hundred and eighty first: the last resort

On the other side of the river bank, Xuanzang walked slowly along the fine sand, frowned, and looked back from time to time in the direction where the monkey and the turtle were.∷,

The screams of Feng Jie still lingered in his ears, and the feeling made him feel a little restless.

Tianpeng, who was always following him, saw it and whispered: "Master Xuanzang doesn't need to take it to heart. That turtle and monkey have some connections. Logically speaking, the monkey will never kill him. As long as he does not directly lose his cultivation, no matter how much injury he suffers, when he takes action to remove the magic, there will naturally be a way to heal him."

Xuanzang sighed faintly and said, "I have a technique of seeing the mind. If you use this method, you don't know what?"

"That is his innate ability." Tianpeng looked back and said, "Even if he knew the formula, he would not be able to use it if he changed someone. Therefore, he could only force him to untie it himself."

Xuanzang snorted helplessly, shook his head, and stepped on the fine sand to continue walking forward.

Holding the Buddhist beads, he asked lightly: "If he does not understand the magic, it will be difficult for us to continue to go west. If we cannot continue to go west, we will not be able to attain enlightenment. All sentient beings in the three realms will not be able to pass on... Therefore, if you do big things without paying attention to the details, otherwise, it will become pedantic. Is this the truth?"

Tianpeng replied: "It's true."

Xuanzang smiled faintly and said, "But if we go westward, we will pass through all our lives, but in the end we will bring pain to other people... Is the Tao we have attained in this way still what we originally wanted?"

"What Master Xuanzang said means..."

"Everyone has its suffering. What we have attained is the way to save all living beings. It is to resolve the suffering of sentient beings." Xuanzang sighed softly, "Then the sage suffered by his father's grudge. Now he appears in front of me. Not only can't resolve it, I still have to watch him endure new pain and sit ignoring."

Hearing this, Tianpeng was slightly stunned.

After a little silence, Tianpeng said, "Then, Master Xuanzang has a good idea?"

Xuanzang shook his head slowly, lowered his head and stared at the mud and sand at his feet, and still walked forward step by step.

This is the biggest dilemma encountered when traveling west.

The water of Heishui River can block perception. The mud and sand at the bottom of Heishui River can be adjusted at will with magic arrays, which makes people disorient. However, it is not the Heishui River that really blocks the journey westward, but the dilemma in front of you.

Everyone has their own suffering. In order to reduce their own suffering, they often impose their own suffering on others. After a few times, they are vicious cycles, so there is a saying that the sea of suffering is endless.

Traveling west is to find a way that can strangle this vicious cycle and pull sentient beings out of the sea of suffering of despair.

But if you continue like this, isn’t traveling west a new kind of suffering?

After thinking carefully along the way, Xuanzang suddenly smiled bitterly.

Tianpeng asked softly: "What did Master Xuanzang think of?"

"I suddenly figured it out."

"Did you figure it out?"

Xuanzang nodded and said, "Since last night, I was wondering whether I should stop the Great Sage from punishing. Stop it. First, I have no reason. Second, I cannot come up with a way to break through the Black Water River. We will be trapped on the banks of the Black Water River and cannot go west. If we do not stop it, we will stand by and watch the suffering of sentient beings. The ambition of crusades made by the monk for the universal crusade will be invalidated. But if we stop it, we will be trapped on the banks of the Black Water River and cannot go west. Wouldn't that ambition of crusades be invalidated?"

Tian Peng thought for a while and asked in confusion: "Then... what did Master Xuanzang figure out?"

When he smiled at Tianpeng, Xuanzang stretched out his finger and said, "This is the suffering of me. I don't know how much I am in the suffering."

After saying that, he took a deep breath, turned around and strode back along the path he came.

At this time, the original sad face had already been wiped out.

For a moment, Tianpeng and Roller Cloud were a little confused and quickly chased after him.

...

On the bank of the river, the monkey and the black bear demon inserted the golden cudgel into the water and observed it carefully.

The waves on the Black Water River opened roll after roll, rushing on the golden cudgel.

After staring at the lines covered by water on the golden cudgel for a long time, the monkey spitted fiercely: "Damn, they must have blocked the downstream!"

"What should I do now?"

"What should I do?" The monkey slowly stood up with his knees, put the golden cudgel into his ears, and snorted with anger and said, "If it was normal, if the heavens didn't work, I would go to the ground. Anyway, this ground has not been pierced, so I don't believe that this magic circle can still be effective in the underworld! Besides, the water flows to the underworld, so will all the problems be solved?"

As soon as these words were said, the black bear monster suddenly shrank his neck.

The monkey reached out and patted the black bear spirit on the shoulder and said leisurely: "Don't worry, this is the last solution. You won't be able to use it until you have to. Otherwise, wouldn't we have not taken the sutra yet, and these three realms are rotten first? Come on, let's continue playing!"

As he said that, he turned around and walked to the dying Feng Jie, lifted him up, and said viciously: "Don't worry, this water won't bother me. At most, I'll pierce it and let the water flow to the underworld. At that time, no one of them will want to live!"

This was almost roaring, and the sound slowly echoed between heaven and earth.

Lu Jie still clenched her teeth and said nothing, but the three demon kings at the bottom of the Black Water River were already scared and sweating.

"You guys say, will he really break it and let the water flow to the underworld?"

Just as the three demon kings were hesitating whether to evacuate first, Xuanzang had already arrived beside the monkey. He first folded his hands together and bowed to the monkey, which made the monkey stunned.

"Great Sage, why not let me talk to him."

"You talk to him?" The monkey looked at the little white dragon lying not far away and said, "Do you have confidence?"

"Let's try it out."

The monkey let go slightly, and Feng Jie fell to the ground with a "thump".

"Then you try it." After saying that, the monkey turned his head and walked, standing on the edge of the riverside, looking back and forth at the Heishui River.

Nodding at the monkey, Xuanzang bowed and straightened the turtle, letting his head rest on the rock.

The injury was too serious. Although one of them was not injured, there was no inch of intact skin on the body and no bones that were not broken. Many of them were even cured by monkeys several times and then interrupted again.

During this move, Hu Jie hummed repeatedly, and sweat beads were already hurting on her forehead, mixed with blood stains and slowly slid down.

With his eyes slightly opened, he looked at Xuanzang hazyly and whispered: "I...I will never untie it, you don't need to think about it."

Xuanzang smiled faintly and nodded, "I know."

After saying that, he turned around and used the wooden basin transformed by the monkey to fill some water from the Black Water River, and wiped away the blood stains on his body bit by bit.

From beginning to end, Huo Jie looked at Xuanzang vigilantly.

Not far away, Tianpeng slowly walked to the monkey and stood side by side with the monkey.

“Can’t it be solved?”

"The bones are very hard, and I will not convince him for a while." After looking back, the monkey sighed: "The water is already rising, and those turtles block the downstream. It won't take long to be completely submerged here. In a short period of time, it may be useless to use torture."

"What should I do next?"

"He just said that this matter was related to Ksitigarbha, right? Otherwise, I will flood the underworld directly? It's also considered revenge."

Tianpeng immediately snorted and laughed, shook his head and said, "Sometimes I admire you very much, and I dare to think of any method. However, this method really doesn't work. First, you flooded the underworld and felt like you had revenge on Ksitigarbha. In fact, the suffering of those ghost messengers and sentient beings in the three realms is the suffering of those ghost messengers and sentient beings in the three realms. Second, if you really dare to do this, aren't you afraid that Tathagata would come out to trouble you under the banner of saving the world? Wasn't that just the excuse back then?"

Upon hearing this, the monkey hesitated again.

If he is alone, what if Tathagata really comes out? At worst, there will be another battle between reality and reality, and no one can do anything to anyone.

But the worst thing is that he is not alone. Even today, more than 600 years later, he still has many weaknesses. Isn’t the journey west just to solve this problem?

With his lips smacked, the monkey looked up at the sky and said, "You said, I'm poking the hole smaller, and then blocking it with a golden cudgel to prevent the water from flowing down. Will it be better?"

Tianpeng laughed out loud on the spot, patted the monkey on the shoulder and said, "What they need is an excuse. It doesn't matter whether you have caused damage."

Hearing this, the monkey suddenly seemed to have a deflated ball.

It is said that cultivating immortals should not be involved in the world and ignore common things. If you put it in this matter, you will really tell them the right thing. People who have the same cultivation and the same strength have been involved in the world and manage common things have indeed many times more weakness than those who are dedicated to practicing.

Putting aside the matter of immortality, there is really no benefit in cultivating immortality. After increasing strength, I think I am superior to the mortals, but in fact I just stepped from one cage to another. I was still trembling with countless unhappiness.

Thinking of this, the monkey couldn't help but remember the words that Feng Chin said in front of the gate of the Secluded Moon Sanxing Cave: "Human happiness depends on the width of his heart..."

Thinking of it, he sighed in a low voice: "I am so unhappy, it must be because of my narrow mind."

"What?"

"No, just random thoughts."

Putting one hand on the monkey's shoulder, Tianpeng slowly said: "Now let's discuss another issue. Suppose we can't let the selves unravel the magic before the river floods, then we will definitely fall into the bottom of the river. If we walk, we will definitely not be able to get out. The other party is determined to trap us, so we have to prepare for a long-term battle. There is nothing else, Master Xuanzang has no cultivation and needs a vulgar material body... I'm afraid it won't last long."

...

At this time, as Feng Jie adjusted her breathing by herself, her face looked slightly better than before.

Xuanzang was concentrating on helping him clean the wounds, and suddenly asked, "Lingzun, how many years have you passed away?" (To be continued...)
