Chapter 3 Under the Abyss

Looking at everything around him beyond his understanding, Kesha overturned her previous cognition-the underground world was not dim and light.

But the light in front of her didn't feel very good about her. She couldn't say that it was strange, but there was always a kind of uneasiness like a vulture circling in her heart.

The ghostly purple light emitted from the cave wall, and the glowing dents arranged in parallel vertically on the ground, just like a purple fluorescent heart emitting clear light through the ribs. The light was hazy, as if it was separated by a layer of fascia, and the essence could not be seen clearly.

The young Kaisha couldn't help thinking about the tunnel with ribs on both sides.

But what creature has such long ribs? It seems that it would be more suitable to say that it is in a huge insect pupa.

Kesha followed the light downwards, walking and eating the scattered water bags and rotten peaches that she had found in the ruins.

This was exactly what she needed, and after three days of hunger, anything that could fill her stomach was precious to her now.

Kane was still following her like a ghost, but he was not as light as Kasha after all, and he was gradually being pulled apart.

He carried a few kilograms of food and water, and held a spear that was slightly heavy for a ten-year-old child in his hand, dragged a disabled body, and lowered his voice to prevent Kesha from discovering... It was already very difficult to keep up with her.

But he didn't dare to speak out at all to let Kaisha stop, for fear that she would miss her adventure and lead her destiny to an ending where no one survived.

He prayed to Nethers in the dark, praying that the two of them would see the sun in Shurima again.

Although he knew it was useless, Nathus lost himself in the yellow sand at this time, and he could not hear a child's prayer.

Thinking of the danger that was about to face, Kane felt that it would be better to expect Nathers than to expect a sudden "tinking" in his mind, activate some system.

However, he quickly abandoned these unrealistic ideas, because if he didn't follow up, he might be lost.

The end of the spear was stuck on the hard ground, leaving no traces.

Kane noticed that the rocks under his feet were very smooth and flat, and the reason for the formation was not the flow of lava, but because the coming and going of those things were often smoothed out.

He knows what that is...

The Void creature, what he will face next is at the end of this tunnel.

...

At the end of the tunnel is a huge cave that suddenly opens up.

Here, the light is more concentrated and brighter, and the swaying ghostly purple light illuminates the entire cave.

The tunnel under your feet twists and circles here, and then extends elsewhere like a bifurcated one.

Upward, downward, and all-in-one.

Above Kesha's head was a spiral passage, and she might be able to climb out along the steep narrow path that was protruding like a spinal squad.

Just as she thought of this, a commotion sound came not far from her body.

"What is that..."

She subconsciously covered her mouth, and her eyes followed the suddenly sunken slope, and saw a large group of creatures rustling under the abyss.

Naturally, it is impossible to give birth to such an extremely weird and ugly existence. Just a glance can make people feel nauseous and fearful.

Clusters of needle eyes emitting warm purple light stared at her, even more complex than the starlight in the sky.

They are like creatures from another world, with their distinct limbs hooking the edge of the abyss and dragging out strange and terrifying bodies.

The structure of these creatures is primitive and terrifying, covered with rough purple-black armor, protruding from bone protrusions, and the skin and flesh are pale in the pale color of stillbirth.

On the hard gums, there are fangs that are as dense as comb teeth but uneven. The bloody mouth cracks to the throat, and the dirty sticky saliva is fully revealed.

Corresponding to the huge diamond-shaped head are their connected chest and abdomen and protruding spine, which store the part that can be called biologically the heart.

But that was not the real heart, but a collection of energy emitting ancient purple light. The ghostly vicious purple light illuminated the rock wall through the fascia in the gap between the chitin carapace.

"It's a monster!"

Kesha instantly remembered the terrible stories her father told her.

The underground world is full of monsters, lurking in the darkness, dragging the passing travelers down, and no one has been able to return in a constant state.

In the past, she only thought that it was a story, but when they were alive in front of her, hunger was replaced by fear again!

This group of evil void creatures had already discovered Kesha. They were driven by endless hunger and, with an uncomfortable urge to kill, climbed up the slope and swarmed towards the girl.

Kesha held the dagger tightly in both hands, trying her best to protect herself.

A monster with a size similar to that of Kesha was the first to pounce on it. The young Kesha rejected the ugliness in front of her from the inside out, and coordinated her whole body and mind that she had never had before, stabbed the dagger in her hand with all her strength.

She was thrown to the ground, and her bladed limbs easily cut off the delicate flesh of Kesha's forearm, and the splattered blood splattered onto the chitin shell of the surrounding monsters, and was absorbed greedily.

But at the same time, the blade of the dagger in her hand also accurately stabbed the monster's pulsating heart with a pulsating light.

The monster's thrust brought a huge impact force to push her to slide to the slope, and both rolled down deeper into the abyss.

Kane, who was late, had only time to see Kesha rolling down at the entrance of the cave. He widened his eyes, as if he saw an invisible rope. At this moment, both ends tied the waists of the two of them.

And the rope called fate suddenly tensed up and pulled his body and began to run forward.

He burst out of the tunnel at an unprecedented speed, and before the sickle blades popped out on both sides cut off his knees, he broke through the dense swarm of insects and rushed down the abyss.

But he didn't know how steep the slope was. After a brief scramble to the sky, he fell heavily on the hard rock ground and rolled down the abyss in an extremely embarrassed manner.

...

Kane was awakened by the new pain. When he wanted to sit up on the ground, he found that there was no feedback on his left arm except for pain.

Fortunately, my ribs did not break again, but my lungs, which had slightly improved, were squeezed and started coughing up blood.

But none of these are the most important ones, what matters is Kesha...

The unconscious Kaisha was lying in the corner of his eyes, beside him was the monster that had been pierced by his heart.

The things in its chest were dimmed and no longer radiated purple light with rhythm as if it were breathing.

According to Kane's knowledge of the Void creature, the monster is dead.

Kane moved his knee directly and walked over. What he saw next made him breathe rapidly and almost coughed up blood. Kesha's injured forearm covered with a strange layer of skin.

The breastplate that originally belonged to the monster is now firmly attached to her forearm!

"I endured for three days, and this step... I finally succeeded!" Although the whole process was invisible, Kane had an unparalleled sense of participation, as if he was the one who completed the symbiosis now.
