Chapter 877 FAW Company

The construction of a large thermal power station of 400,000 kilowatt-hour is a huge project. The construction of pipelines is second only to the power unit. The cost of a single project is at least tens of millions of US dollars. If a company wants to bid, it has to do a lot of work, and all kinds of documents must be complete. However, in Liu Lang's mouth, it seems that this is a small project and it is nothing at all.

In fact, Liu Lang doesn't value this matter much. As he said, it's of course a good thing to take it down, and it doesn't matter if he can't take it down. He just lets others see that the Northern Industrial Group is not a fictional reputation. We are not without things, but it's not time yet. Just taking out a little gadget can make you feel out of reach.

The matter was decided so, and Ma Ming and a few others didn't talk nonsense and started practicing day and night. The stainless steel pipe that was welded and scrapped in one day weighed several tons.

In a blink of an eye, five days passed. Liu Lang and Wang Zhendong took Ma Ming and the other two to Jibei City, Jibei Province, and there were six drivers.

Ma Ming and the other two had to bring handy tools, and Liu Lang and others' luggage, so there were a lot of things. However, the company bought a ten-seater Fengtian van some time ago, and this thing was completely put away.

The working environment of Northern Industrial Group is first-class across the country. Not to mention anything else, I bought three cars alone. After a while, Liu Lang was planning to buy a large bus.

Jibei Province is close to Liaobei Province, and it is about 600 kilometers from Fucheng to Changchun, the capital of Jibei Province. Jibei City, the second largest city in Jibei Province, is located more than 100 kilometers southeast of Changchun.

From the map, Fucheng is only more than 500 kilometers away from Jibei City, but there are no direct roads or railways in the two places. They can only go to Changchun first and then drive more than 100 kilometers to reach their destination.

It was already mid-January, and there were more than 20 days left before the New Year. This time, everyone went to Jibei Province to say hello to the other party in advance, and there should be no specific project involved.

With this mentality in mind, the few people were not in a hurry along the way. They first spent a day to arrive in Changchun, and then had to stay here for two days. There was nothing to do, just having fun.

Ma Ming and the other two have never left the province. The farthest place they have ever been to is Shencheng. So this time, I was nervous and a little excited. I finally left the province and I could joke with my relatives for a while after I got back.

Although they are all industrial cities, Shencheng has far less resources than Changchun can compare. The only companies that Changchun can make a name for themselves, especially the "great liberation", which can be seen everywhere as soon as it enters Changchun.

FAW's contribution to Changchun is no less than that of coal mines to Fucheng. Both enterprises support a city. Similarly, the two cities encountered the same problems twenty years later.

The coal mine in Fucheng went bankrupt, a large number of workers were unemployed, and the entire city declined. Twenty years later, FAW was also shaking under the wave of the market economy. Although it did not go bankrupt, it did not have its former glory.

The future fate of the two cities is similar, but the reasons are different. Fucheng has declined due to coal, and the problem of coal mines is inevitable. This is not an intensive enterprise and has a low technical content. It turns out that the huge costs and expenses brought by large mines with tens of thousands of people will inevitably collapse in the environment of a market economy, and the wages of tens of thousands of people alone can drag any enterprise to death.

But FAW is not like this. Look at the island country's Fengtian Company and German Volkswagen Company. Which of them does not have tens of thousands of employees around the world?

Automobile companies are intensive manufacturing companies. While owning technology, they also need a large number of workers.

FAW was once glorious. Jiefang Trucks were durable and had the shadow of "Liberation Green" on any road in the country. The engine of this kind of car was originally from a truck in the Soviet Union. Later, FAW engineers transformed it and finally made a "Liberation Truck". On the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, FAW also built the first domestic red flag sedan in order to present a gift to the country. When the red flag car drove past Tiananmen Square, this scene became the most exciting moment at the National Day celebration that year. The Chinese people themselves were able to build cars themselves.

These are the glory of FAW. If they can develop normally, after being baptized by modern technology, it will be fine to become a large company that can get the top spot. Perhaps it is not as good as an international automobile giant, but at least it can have completely independent core technology. This is the most basic thing to do.

But more than 20 years later, FAW, the number one automobile company in New China, had no products that could be produced. Jiefang Truck was discontinued three years ago, in 1986, and this kind of car was basically invisible on the market until the late 1990s. However, at that time, FAW and Volkswagen jointly formed FAW-Volkswagen. This name sounds cool, but in Liu Lang's view it was a shame. A national automobile company went to "agent" foreign automobile brands. What is this a shame?

Of course, FAW also tried to independently manufacture some brands, such as Hongqi cars, but the result was really unsatisfactory. Except for the imported engines that were pretty good, other links may not even be qualified. Although they have sold a luxury car worth millions each, this kind of car can only be regarded as a symbol in the eyes of many people, and an emotional sustenance is not very practical.

Automobile is ultimately a commodity. When the market does not recognize you, if no changes are made, a crisis will come. As a state-owned enterprise, FAW has always been ups and downs in the wave of the market economy and has not found its own position.

There are many reasons for this, but the most important thing is the system problem. Since it is a commodity, consumers must decide. From product design to manufacturing, everything revolves around the market and should never be determined by other factors. However, state-owned enterprises must obey orders. This kind of order is not issued by the market, but more from the above departments. It would be strange if a group of laymen decide on the manufacturing of goods.

Of course, these thoughts are just caused by Liu Lang's feelings. He can't control such things and does not want to care about them. Unless he buys FAW for himself... Then he will not buy them. His Northern Industrial Group will definitely build cars in the future, as long as it is done well. Liu Lang's point of view is that if he doesn't do it, he must do the best.
