Chapter 3

Fortunately, I finally caught him, but the golden retriever was still barking.

Suddenly a cat meowed from behind Gu Shaoan. He turned around and looked into the dark store. Through the faint light of the streetlight, he could see an orange cat. It leaned forward and its head was rubbing against the glass.

Door.

Gu Shao'an raised his hand and scratched the back of his head in confusion. He remembered that he had cleaned the floor before closing the store and did not see the orange cat at all, but it was possible that the cat was hiding in the corner.

Bai Yan tightened the dog leash and asked in a formal tone: "It's the neighbor's cat nearby, haven't you seen it?"

Gu Shaoan was stunned for a few seconds, and then responded calmly: "No, I just moved here a few days ago."

The answer he gave was similar to Bai Yan's previous guess.

Bai Yan was about to ask more questions, but he saw that Gu Shao'an had already taken out the key from his pocket. He stepped forward and opened the glass door, revealing a small gap to let the cat out.

The cat seemed to have shadowless legs, running along the corner of the wall as fast as flying, and soon disappeared from their sight.

Golden Retriever stopped barking and squatted at Bai Yan's feet, making no movement.

Gu Shaoan locked the glass door and put the key in his pocket again. He turned around and found Bai Yan staring at him solemnly.

But they didn't speak any more, and then they all headed home in opposite directions with a tacit understanding.

Soon it was midnight. Bai Yan raised her hand on the mouse. She stretched out of habit and rubbed her sore eyes. Then she lowered her eyes and looked at the time in the lower right corner of the computer. It was already ten in the morning.

It's past two o'clock.

Bai Yan turned off the computer and got up. Probably because she stayed up a little late, she fell asleep within a few seconds of getting into bed.

After falling asleep, she dreamed again...

As before, Bai Yan was conscious in the dream, but this time she was able to control her legs to walk.

The scene in the dream was in a nearby street. The passers-by seemed to be mosaic, and Bai Yan couldn't see their faces clearly.

She suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in front of her. The man's back was slightly hunched, he looked quite old, and he was wearing ordinary clothes.

Bai Yan quickened her pace and stopped in front of the man. After seeing the old face clearly, Bai Yan's pupils dilated slightly. Her eyes were full of disbelief. The old man in front of her turned out to be someone she hadn't seen for several days.

Shop owner!

The old lady is completely different from the mosaic passers-by around her, and her facial features can be clearly seen.

Strange, why do you dream about the old lady in the convenience store? Bai Yan almost mistakenly thought that he could only dream about Gu Shaoan.

The old lady didn't seem to notice Bai Yan in front of her at all, and continued to walk forward.

The main reason is that the old woman is relatively short, and the top of her head only reaches the bridge of Bai Yan's nose.

It wasn't until the old lady passed her by that Bai Yan came back to her senses. She hurriedly followed her. She walked for who knows how long, and finally followed her to a narrow street.

The courtyard walls of most houses on both sides of this street are not very high, and the decoration style is brick and tile, which is more Chinese-style.

The old lady stopped at the door of her house, then took out her house key from her handbag and went to open the door.

Bai Yan was instantly attracted by the key in the old woman's hand. She always felt that it looked familiar.

Bai Yan tried his best to think about it, and suddenly realized that Gu Shaoan seemed to have taken the same set of keys when he opened the glass door last night.

Bai Yan didn't understand the content of this dream. Why did he go to the streets near his home and meet an old lady...

When Bai Yan was distracted, he suddenly heard the sound of bicycle bells coming from the street, and the voices of two women talking, "Isn't that Grandma Gu's grandson? He is really filial and much better than her son."

.”

"Yes, his name is quite nice. He seems to be Gu Shao'an."

Bai Yan suddenly came to her senses. She turned around and looked at Gu Shao'an, who was riding a bicycle not far away.

The dim light of the evening shone on him, and Gu Shaoan, wearing a school uniform, looked full of youth.

The hot breeze blew some of the bangs in front of his forehead. I don't know if it was because the schoolbag was slung casually on his left shoulder, or it was something else. Gu Shaoan looked different from usual at school, and he looked a bit more handsome inexplicably.

Bai Yan also noticed that there was a plastic bag in the basket of Gu Shaoan's bicycle. He could vaguely see it, and it contained fruits, vegetables, pastries and the like.

Gu Shaoan's bicycle riding speed was not slow. In less than half a minute, the distance between them was so close that there were only a few steps left.

Bai Yan raised her lips. She wanted to ask Gu Shaoan a question, to confirm his relationship with the old lady, and to test whether she could speak freely in her dream.

But before she could say anything, she felt her eyes going dark.

Immediately afterwards, Bai Yan woke up from her dream. She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling in a daze. After a few minutes, she picked up the mobile phone on the bedside table to check the time.

It’s already past nine o’clock!

Bai Yan never sets an alarm, and has always been willful about when he wakes up and when he goes to school.

She got up quickly, washed up, and went out before having breakfast.

Chen Ju had been waiting in front of Bai Yan's house for a long time, and had played two or three games during this period. He was about to play another game with his friends when he suddenly heard the back door of the car being opened.

Chen Ju quickly canceled the match. He turned off his phone and put it aside. Then he looked back at Bai Yan, who had just sat down, and asked, "Why did you come out so late? Did you stay up late again last night?"

Bai Yan hummed very coldly.

Chen Ju started to nag: "I really don't know how your mother educated you. You are late for school almost every day."

Bai Yan pretended not to hear, and turned to look out the car window, recalling the details of the dream in her mind.

Bai Yan actually suspected that her visit to that street might have something to do with Mo Wenwen. After all, she had made such a good friend since she was a child. Bai Yan had never made any friends before junior high school, not even classmates he could talk to.

rare.

There is also the reason that she is considered a homebody and usually prefers to stay in the bedroom and play games, so there is not much reason for her to go to that street for no reason.

Sure enough, two hours after arriving at school, during the lunch break, before Bai Yan could say anything, Mo Wenwen took the initiative to mention to her that her brother's birthday was tomorrow.

Bai Yan has been in contact with Mo Wenwen's brother several times before. This year's summer vacation, Mo Wenwen's brother even came over to attend Bai Yan's birthday. He also used his pocket money that he had saved for a long time to buy Bai Yan a more expensive birthday party.

Gift.

There are indeed many places selling things near that street, which is very suitable for picking out gifts. From this point of view, it can be completely connected with the dream.

"Yanyan, there's something else I need to tell you. You can't let me give you a gift tomorrow. I lost in the Ludo game with my brother last night. My brother's condition is that I take you home tomorrow.

"

Bai Yan's mind was not focused on what Mo Wenwen said. She immediately agreed without thinking, "Okay."

In the blink of an eye, school was over in the afternoon, and Bai Yan was dropped off at the door by Chen Ju as usual. Bai Yan's mother was still not at home, so she took out the key from her pocket and opened the door.

Bai Yan didn't stay at home for too long. She took the cash and went out to the street.

Maybe it was because he arrived a little early, so Bai Yan hadn't seen the old lady yet.

Looking at the unfamiliar faces of the passers-by, Bai Yan suddenly had some guesses. Their faces in the dream were mosaic, maybe because they were less likely to encounter them in the future, or because they would not appear again in the dream.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Bai Yan finally saw the old lady walking not far away.

Bai Yan quickly turned his back, pretending to be waiting for the traffic light.

The old woman quickly walked up to Bai Yan. It was exactly like the scene in the dream. The old woman didn't recognize her at all and just passed by Bai Yan.

Bai Yan waited for the old lady to walk some distance and followed her. She still didn't know how far she had walked before she followed her to the narrow street. But this time, Bai Yan didn't go inside again. She was afraid of being seen by Gu Shaoan.

It's hard to explain sometimes.

Bai Yan suddenly caught a glimpse of many trees and flowers beside the street, which would be enough to block his body if he stood there.

Bai Yan walked over, but the next second, the familiar ringing sound on the bicycle sounded from behind her.

Bai Yan's mind was buzzing. She had been thinking a lot just now, but she didn't think about where Gu Shaoan would pass by...

Gu Shaoan actually saw Bai Yan from all the way. He stopped the bicycle next to Bai Yan, put one foot on the ground, and asked curiously: "What are you doing there?"

Bai Yan didn't care about embarrassment before. If someone made her uncomfortable, she would scold him directly. But now, she actually wants to find a gap to get in.

Seeing that Bai Yan ignored him, Gu Shaoan continued doubtfully: "If I remember correctly, your home is not here."

Bai Yan adjusted his mentality and retorted coldly: "What does it have to do with you?"

After she finished speaking, she walked away calmly. It wasn't until she heard the neighbors talking in the narrow street that Bai Yan turned around, just in time to see Gu Shaoan stop at the door of the old lady's house and go in.

It turns out that Gu Shaoan is really the grandson of an old woman! No wonder he works in a convenience store...

The next afternoon, Bai Yan didn't ask Chen Ju to pick her up at school. She planned to take Mo Wenwen's car there and let Chen Ju pick her up after the birthday party.

On the way out of school, Bai Yan always felt empty in his heart. No, it seemed like his hands were empty!

Bai Yan lowered his head suddenly and looked at his hands. The gift he bought for Mo Wenwen's brother was not in his hands.

"I forgot to get the gift, please go out and wait for me." After Bai Yan finished speaking, without waiting for Mo Wenwen's response, he turned and walked towards the teaching building.

School had just ended, and there were still students on duty in the classroom. Two students on duty peeked several times after seeing Bai Yan come into the classroom, and some even whispered, but Bai Yan didn't pay much attention.

But the next moment, Bai Yan didn't find the gift box at her place. She clearly remembered it clearly and had brought it over in the morning and stuffed it in the drawer.
