Chapter 18 Gawain’s Wrath

Calling scumbags and criticizing weirdos made Gawain feel very happy.

She thought that these people should not appear in front of her for a while, which would make her unhappy.

But she didn't know that her good mood quickly dropped again.

"Xiaolan, why is there so little rice left?" Gawain asked in confusion.

Ding Xiaolan was still frightened because of Gawain's reprimand just now. Now Gawain's loud voice made her shrink into a ball in fright, and her body could not help but move away from Gawain.

Seeing this, Gawain's eyes felt distressed.

His voice couldn't help but become much gentler: "It's okay, I just want to know what's going on?"

Before leaving, Gawain asked Ding Xiaolan to make rice for lunch.

But just her and Ding Shiping, how could there be so much less?

Ding Xiaolan calmed down and replied. She was afraid that Gawain would beat her if she didn't say anything.

From her stammering words, Gawain figured out the reason.

It turned out that the three members of the Gao family had been here in the morning, and even if Gawain was not there, they still had to wait for her return.

Gawain seriously suspected that they were just here to earn money.

Ding Xiaolan was too timid to let Wang Xiu direct her around in a daze.

Not only did the rice for the three of the Gao family be cooked, but all the meat and vegetables in the family were also cooked.

Siblings Ding Xiaolan and Ding Shiping didn't eat anything.

Just now, Ding Xiaolan thought she was making dinner for the Gao family, so she made it for the four of Gao Wen.

Can we have a lot of rice for two meals?

After hearing the end, Gawain's face was filled with rage.

"You and Xiaoping have been hungry until now?"

Ding Xiaolan's eyes flinched and she whispered "Yeah".

Gao Wen's face turned completely dark. Seeing that Ding Xiaolan was afraid of him again, he quickly adjusted his expression.

She looked around and saw Ding Shiping squatting in the corner.

The things she asked Ding Shiping to bring in were placed on the chopping board, untouched.

Gao Wen picked up the bag containing the buns and handed it to Ding Xiaolan, asking her to warm it up.

Ding Xiaolan hurriedly responded, and after hesitating for a moment, she asked: "Sister-in-law, there is no meat at home, what should we cook?"

She didn't know that the Gao family had left yet, and she was afraid that she would neglect them and make Gao Wen unhappy.

Gawain remembered that there were vegetables in the vegetable garden in the backyard, but they were not big.

Now it is impossible to get food from the supermarket, we can only rely on the vegetable garden.

"I'm going to the vegetable garden to see what vegetables are edible, so don't worry about it."

After scanning Ding Shiping with his peripheral vision, Gao Wen paused and said, "Xiaoping, come with me."

After Ding Shiping raised his head, he first looked at Ding Xiaolan. Ding Xiaolan shrank her eyes and turned her head sideways.

Gawain didn't wait for him and walked towards the backyard. Ding Shiping had no choice but to run after him.

In the vegetable garden, there are three rows of cucumbers, two rows of beans, two rows of onions, one row of tomatoes, one row of eggplants, one row of radishes, and some peppers on the edge of the rows.

The one or two plots of land are fully utilized, and the vegetables grown here are all commonly eaten here.

Gao Wen saw in the county town that the vegetables sold were larger than those at home. He didn't know whether they were shipped from other places or because they were planted earlier.

Ding Shilei and the others probably thought that the vegetables she brought out yesterday were bought by her.

Of course, it may also be a gift from someone else.

Gawain looked at it and found that the cucumbers were just enough to eat.

Asking Ding Shiping to follow her, Gao Wen picked each one and handed it to him. He picked all the three ridges, there were only five small ones, and one plate of frying was enough.

Gawain took three from Ding Shiping's hand, he took two, and walked back together. When he saw someone's figure, his eyes paused.

Ding Shilei blocked the entrance to the backyard, and Gao Wen didn't even look at him.

But she muttered: She must be afraid that she will bully Ding Shiping.
