Chapter 15 The Last Summer

This year's summer feels like it's coming a little earlier than in previous years. After every spring rain, the weather gets a little hotter. It feels like we've just passed the New Year and it's time to get sweaty just looking at the sun-drenched streets.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, the sun was setting in the west.

The fan on the second floor is spinning slowly, and the wind it blows can only create a 'warm barrier' that covers a person. Occasionally, a natural wind blows in from the balcony, and the balcony curtains are slightly disturbed. The light spilled into the living room changes with the disturbance of the curtains.

There were flickering lights, and just in time a dark orange light climbed onto the face of a certain boy on the sofa, and then slid down as the curtains moved, repeated several times, like a giant goldfish swimming around his body.

The calendar hanging on the wall occasionally lifts a page and falls again, and the wind chime tied to the balcony never rises or falls for a long time.

Feng Wuli looked at the balcony. The old residential buildings across the old street were dazzlingly white from the sun. The sky was clear and the cicadas were chirping continuously.

The zombies are dead and no one is willing to go out.

The balcony faces the street, and there are noisy sounds below. Residents in the old street are chatting while fanning their big sunflower fans. The voices of children in twos and threes are getting louder and then gradually disappearing. The tofu seller’s shouts are lingering in the air, mixed with a few barks and scoldings of dogs.

Angrily, when someone passes by on a bicycle, the bell rings loudly and the sound can carry far away.

Until the last chirping sound of the cicada disappeared in the summer afternoon, the wind disappeared, the calendar and wind chimes fell, the balcony curtains remained motionless as if they were not the ones blooming just now, the world was so quiet except for the sound of TV cartoons and the whirling fans, I always felt like it was over again

It's a bit hotter.

He was sitting quietly on the sofa on the second floor, holding the remote control in his hand and watching TV intently. Recently, Wang Xilou planned to go through the enrollment procedures for him.

She said she planned to send him to kindergarten for one year and then start first grade next year.

Feng Wuli suspected that it was because he was competing with her to watch TV.

I can watch TV now because I gave her a leg beating all morning.

Ye Ji on the side despised him.

What can Feng Wuli do? He is weak, pitiful and helpless.

Wang Xilou has no humanity.

Wang Xilou likes to watch costume dramas, and every time she watches them, she always curses around him, but there is a look in her eyes that he can't understand; she likes to listen to operas and can hum to herself, and he thinks Wang Xilou can hum better than on TV

It sounded good; she also liked to watch TV commercials, and she secretly hid in her room several times and called to ask. She said that she actually preferred listening to the radio, but the radio from many years ago was broken and she didn't know how to repair it.

Feng Wuli felt that Wang Xilou was a very old-fashioned person. He was obviously a youthful city girl, but the things he liked were very outdated. It felt like she herself was about to become outdated.

When Liu Xiaoxiao came to play with him that day, they found out that their computers at home were not connected to the Internet. Feng Wuli asked Wang Xilou what the Internet was. She scratched her head and muttered, "I don't know, either...", Congxiao

From the smiling expression, networking seemed to be the correct use of computers, but Wang Xilou said with a smile that he didn't know how to do it, and he bought the computer after seeing others fix it. At that moment, Feng Wuli felt that both she and the radio were being used.

Times have passed.

Everything has a shelf life, fruits have a shelf life, canned dace also has a shelf life, Wang Xilou’s shelf life is eight hundred years ago.

Feng Wuli listened to Wang Xilou, who was singing folk songs with a tone that was different from today's Chinese, and saw her coming up the stairs humming a song and holding a plate of watermelon.

First the brain.

Then the body.

Finally, all the long white legs appeared from the stairs.

Taking a brisk but perhaps not very smart step.

Wearing home-style gray cotton shorts on the lower body and a cool white suspender on the upper body, these are the clothes that are most relevant to this era. She tossed her slippers casually and sat next to him.

Even though the sofa was so big, she still squeezed herself away.

Wang Xilou likes to have fun just like the crows in the village. For the sake of the fruit, Feng unreasonably endures the humiliation.

"Pleasant Goat, please slow down, Boiling Goat, push Pleasant Goat."

Wang Xilou suddenly turned his head to watch TV and found that it was a normal picture. He turned around and said to Feng Wuli blankly: "What cartoon are you watching? Turn the channel."

Feng Wuli pressed the remote control.

"Wen Cai, hurry up and prepare glutinous rice and black dog blood. Buy them back before dark."

"Master wants to eat sticky rice."

"What are you going to eat with glutinous rice? Go as soon as you are asked!"

The show was a Hong Kong movie that has been popular for many years. In it, an old man with unibrows and a yellow coat was preparing to open a forum to fight zombies.

Wang Xilou's face darkened.

"What? Want to learn some moves to deal with Master?"

"Can the zombies in this zombie movie compare to me? Are they afraid of glutinous rice? What kind of garbage are they?"

"She looks so ugly!"

Feng Wuli didn't give it to her. He beat his legs all morning to get it. He could watch whatever he wanted.

She started commenting on the TV.

"Wang Xilou, I don't want to go to school." He tried to make his voice heard.

Wang Xilou looked at his bun-like face. She didn't know how to persuade him as she had no parenting experience. She crossed her legs on the sofa and said, "Why don't you go to school?"

I just simply don’t want to go. It’s too willful to say this, and Feng Wuli can’t say it out loud.

"Now, it's a good era. Everyone can go to school, everyone is like this, and you can make a lot of new friends when you go to school."

He shook his head and said, "It's enough for me to have Wang Xilou."

It is always easy for children to say what adults are hesitating about. The way to express emotions is straightforward and the tone is plain but matter-of-fact. He just expresses what he thinks and does not need others to guess.

Wang Xilou grinned, pulled him over, and put one hand around the little guy's neck: "Master is master, friends are friends, people need friends."

"Does Wang Xilou have any friends?"

"..."

This little apprentice is so annoying!

"Yes, yes." Wang Xilou stiffened his neck.

"How come I haven't seen it before?"

“I can’t even count you if I take you to meet them when I have time!”

"I don't need friends."

"What about Xiaoxiao? Where's Yeji? Aren't Yeji and Xiaoxiao your friends?"

"..."

Does it count?

Forget it.

Needless to say, Ye Ji always talks about being condescending, but in fact she is a tsundere cat with a certain twist.

Liu Xiao's family lived nearby, and the little girl often came to play with him since that day. Even if he didn't pay much attention to her, Liu Xiao's enthusiasm was always high, and his big eyes were brighter than the stars.

"Those two are enough."

"Not enough."

Wang Xilou's body felt cool, and the heat wave suddenly left him. The two masters and apprentices were sitting on the sofa watching zombie movies. He listened quietly to Wang Xilou's continued words.

"As a teacher, I will give you the first task of making a hundred friends. When you complete it, then..." She was still thinking, and she frowned: "How about I take you to the amusement park?

?”

"Amusement park?" Feng Wuli was a little confused.

"It's just a fun place to have fun. There's a roller coaster, a carousel, and a pirate ship."

"Wang Xilou wants to go to the amusement park?"

Wang Xilou's beaming face fell: "What do I want to go to? It's a place for children to play. Master is not here for you to give you a happy childhood!"

Feng Wuli found out that Wang Xilou wanted to go to the amusement park, but because it was only for children, he was too embarrassed to go alone.

Although he has a quiet temperament, he is very good at observing, especially Wang Xilou.

He only has one problem.

"I have made a hundred friends, will Wang Xilou be happy?"

Wang Xilou was stunned for a moment, with a smile on his face, and nodded: "Yes."

"good."
