Chapter 49

Jiang Lan's breath suffocated. She subconsciously slowed down her steps and tiptoed to get the charger on the table.

She plugged the data cable into her phone and it only took two minutes. As long as the phone could be turned on, it was enough.

But it backfired. Less than a minute after she charged it, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped. She unplugged the charger and ran out of the bedroom quickly.

"stop!"

Jiang Lan paused and stopped at the door. She bit her lip and held the charger tightly with her fingers, not daring to look back.

The sound of footsteps came from behind, and then a man chuckled.

This laughter contained so much information that Jiang Lan felt her face flush with embarrassment.

"turn around."

Jiang Lan squeezed the charger's fingers tightly. She turned around and saw the man's smooth chest and a bath towel around his waist.

There were still water stains on his chest, slowly flowing along the lines of his abdominal muscles and into the bath towel.

"Didn't you just leave so easily? Why did you come back?"

Jiang Lan raised his head and showed him the charger in his hand.

The smile at the corners of Lu Jingchi's mouth faded a bit, or in other words, only the corners of his mouth were raised, not smiling.

His tone was a bit colder, "You are so courageous. I also bought the phone. Who told you to take it away?"

Jiang Lan lowered her eyes. She held the charger tightly. She wanted to borrow money from someone. She didn't have a mobile phone or money... How could she keep this child?

Lu Jingchi's words undoubtedly cut off all her options.

She couldn't help but begin to wonder, could she really survive if she left here?

What happened last night was still vivid in her mind, and just thinking about it made her feel terrified.

The always slender palms were spread out in front of her, and the meaning was obvious.

Jiang Lan put his hands behind his back and hid his cell phone and charger as if to hide it.

Her action made Lu Jingchi laugh, "Bring it here."

Jiang Lan closed her eyes, slowly stretched out her hand, and placed the phone and charger in his palm.

The phone spun on his fingertips. He played with it and glanced at Jiang Lan, "You can go."

Jiang Lan lowered his head, turned around and walked out.

Lu Jingchi rubbed the screen of his mobile phone with his fingers, staring straight at the slender back, but his eyes became cold.

After walking out of the villa, sadness and sorrow filled her throat. Jiang Lan couldn't help but shed tears. She covered her belly and sat down on the steps next to the villa.

She still couldn't keep the child.

She doesn't deserve it. Someone like her can't even survive on her own, so how can she deserve a child?

The baby in her belly probably doesn't want a mother like her...

She buried her head in her knees and cried uncontrollably. Unfortunately, she couldn't make a sound and couldn't even express herself in the most basic way.

She sat there alone, with the faint sunlight falling on her body, making her look so small and lonely.

Jiang Lan had been walking for a day and didn't eat much yesterday. She was tired and sleepy. It's not clear how she lost consciousness in the end.

She went into a dream and had a long dream, which was filled with every detail of her relationship with Lu Jingchi.

The boy in the dream was cool and calm, tall and thin, wearing a clean white shirt.

He was waiting for her to finish school at the school gate, with his head tilted and a smile on his face.

At that time, he attracted the attention of countless girls. At that time, he... only had eyes for her.

He was her hero, always lending a helping hand when she was in trouble. His tall and majestic shadow made it feel blasphemous for her to even look up to him.

As an ignorant youngster, she didn't know what love was, she only knew that wherever she looked, there was his shadow.

What I hold in my heart are all the memories of every time I spent with him.

But every time he said, "I am her brother," all her delusions would be brought back to their original state.

She felt that her thoughts were too dirty and her wishful thinking had tarnished him and the friendship between them.

She is like a mouse hiding in the dark, her love is invisible to others.
