Chapter 7 Pursuit

In the spring of the sixteenth year of Kersmerd, the climate was warm and everything grew as usual, but Kersmerd did not flourish as before. Mary's death had a huge blow to him and instantly defeated him. He locked himself in a small dark room almost all day long, doing nothing, just sitting in a daze, often bursting with tears, crying silently, and sometimes he held the relics left to him by Mary's black pendant, holding in both hands, looking intently for a long time.

Day after day, after nearly half a month, he came out of extreme pain, but still failed to recover. Although he no longer locked himself in a small dark room almost all day long, he never stepped out of the monastery to walk outside. The other place he would go to was the church. In the church, he sometimes wandered, sometimes sat in meditation. The church was big, and his heart was empty. Most of the time, he would go to the top of the church tower, stop in front of the window where Mary had leaned against, and look at the distance at the sea and sky, for a long time, as if searching, as if waiting, and always at a loss...

It was not until late spring and early summer that Kersmerd finally cheered up and gradually resumed his fighting training. That spring was the most decadent time in Kersmerd's life.

Summer came, and Kersmer decided to leave, leave the orphanage, leave the car, and go far away. He set a goal for himself to pursue, and also gave himself a reason to say goodbye to the days when he could only miss Marital in a lonely and depressed state.

He often heard that Sargos had a Royal Military Academy. As long as the conditions were met, no matter whether the noble or civilian, no matter whether the rich or poor peasant, they could be treated equally. As long as they could graduate successfully from Sargos Royal Military Academy, no matter how humble and weak the student was, they could immediately fly up to the branches and turn into noble and powerful phoenixes. He wanted to try it there and bring changes to his destiny.

Finally, one day in the early summer of the year when Kersmerd was sixteen, he left a note in the orphanage that briefly explained his departure, and quietly left the orphanage and prepared to leave the nest.

The legal age of adulthood in the Kingdom of Nord was seventeen. Ksmerd understood very well that when he was seventeen, he would not appear and present him as the old pastor said. So he chose to leave the year before he was seventeen. He did not have to wait for the faith to be destroyed in the reality of his arrival as scheduled, but set off without hesitation and pursue his glory in another way.

Ksmerd knew that Sagos was in the south of Wocheze, and the two cities were only one large bay apart. Therefore, he took a boat and left by boat and arrived at Sagos soon. However, he had never been penniless and had no money to buy a ticket, but he had an idea.

He quietly left the orphanage late at night, carrying a small linen bag containing a bottle of water and a few pieces of bread. He tied the linen bag around his waist, and after a long and moon-riding run, he traveled several blocks to the port where the woks were docked.

During the day, he stayed in this port for almost a day, constantly searching for the target and paying attention to the movement and changes of the target. He did not leave temporarily until it was completely dark. At this moment, he returned to the port, and he did not have to worry about finding it at all, and he discovered his target. It was a medium-sized cargo ship, the ship he was going to take, and it stopped in front of him at this moment. In addition to the raven flag flying above the ship that marked the national prestige of the Nord Kingdom and the raven flag symbolizing death and strength, three black characters "Sagos" were strikingly presented on the stern.

When Ksmerd saw the three big words "Sagos", he was as excited as if he saw Sagos waving to him. The big and thick cable tied the boat tightly to the dock, just so that Ksmerd would climb onto the boat with the help of the cable while the sailor was on the other side of the boat. He was agile and capable, and the cable was not too long. He climbed onto the boat in less than ten seconds. The sailor did not hear the sound of him falling onto the boat, nor did anyone else hear it. Ksmerd kept quietly down and came to the bottom of the boat. There was a big and dark room at the bottom of the boat. After closing the door, he reached out to see his five fingers.

At first, Ksmerd was anxious to see if there were any windows in the room, but then he thought that he was at the bottom of the boat at this moment. Perhaps the room was lower than the sea, so of course there would be no windows. Ksmerd slowly groped in the darkness where he was unable to see his fingers, and touched many wooden boxes half of his body. Later, he found that in addition to the boxes, there were many linen bags in the cabin.

Kersmerd found that there was only a few bags in a corner, and if someone came, he could hide there. However, that should not be possible. At least no one would come to observe the place before arriving at Sagos. Because during the day, he heard someone on the ship saying that it would set sail early in the morning. That is to say, as soon as the sky was dawn, the ship would leave immediately, and now it was less than two hours before dawn. Moreover, most people are now immersed in their sleep. On this ship, except for Kersmerd and the sailor who patrols the night, there would probably be no one to wake up. After dawn, when the ship drove, and until the ship arrived at Sagos, there should not be anyone coming to this dark place. Thinking of this, Kersmerd felt relieved.

Ksmerd believed that the boxes and bags on the ship were obviously transported to Sagos. He accidentally found that there was a large bottle-like object on the top of one of the boxes, so he took the bottle down with both hands. He held the bottle with both hands and put it in his ear and shook it, and found that the bottle contained some kind of liquid, which seemed to be half a bottle.

He opened the bottle plug and smelled a strange and familiar smell. He put his fingers into the bottle, and then sniffed his fingers carefully. The smell was a bit heavy, but it wouldn't be very bad. It seemed that this liquid was some kind of wine, but it might be something else. Kersmerd had never drunk wine, but had smelled the wine and felt that the smell of this liquid was a bit like the wine. Maybe he could drink this bottle. Kersmerd took the bottle off the box and then lay down comfortably on the bags. If he had to stay at sea for a long time, it would be good to have this bottle of drink around him.

Before he knew it, Ksmerd fell asleep. Not long after, a noisy sound above woke Ksmerd up. He opened his eyes suddenly and found that there was still darkness in front of him, but he obviously felt that the hull was moving, and the ship should have started sailing. The continuous darkness made him immersed in a confused, dreamy feeling. It was not until a moment after the ship set sail for a long time that it suddenly disappeared.

At this moment, he suddenly had an inexplicable ominous premonition, as if something was wrong. He sat upright from his lying down like lightning, facing the darkness ahead, his eyes opened and closed. He knew that he had gradually left the car and was about to go to Sagos, but at this moment he couldn't help but worry whether he could arrive at Sagos safely.
