12, Chapter 12(1/2)

Chapter 12

The boy's voice was so low that other students in the class and Lao Lintou couldn't hear it clearly.

But just looking at Shang Yan's posture, it didn't seem like he had said anything nice.

Lao Lintou raised his eyebrows:

"Shang Yan, don't bully a little girl."

When Shang Yan heard this, he straightened his body slowly and smiled lazily: "How can I give it up, teacher?"

The boys in the back row of the class burst into laughter——

"That's right, Brother Yan is so compassionate and cherishes the beauty!"

"He's not a bully of little girls, isn't he?"

"New classmate, don't be afraid."

"..."

Those joking voices were getting more and more intense, but Shang Yan turned sideways and scanned the classroom behind him.

Everyone fell silent for a moment.

Old Lintou frowned with an ugly expression.

"Shang Yan, please sit down first and then——"

"teacher."

Shang Yan walked out of the table, picked up a new chair from the front, and placed it on the empty seat next to the girl with one hand.

He licked the roof of his mouth, half-smiling.

The eyes are dark.

"I can just sit here."

"..."

Old Lintou glanced at him in surprise.

Except for Li Zhe and a few others, the uninformed students in the class were also stunned.

After a few seconds, Old Lintou came back to his senses.

"Okay, let's go to class quietly."

When there were still five minutes left before the end of get out of class, Lao Lintou finished the lecture in advance.

He turned his head and looked at the clock hanging in front of the classroom. When he turned back, his expression was a little meaningful.

"There is still some time left, let me collect the 'homework'."

These words made the students stunned and looked up at Lin Zheng in confusion.

——

The homework in the class is collected in all subjects in the morning, so there is nothing left for the teacher to collect after class.

But when they saw Lin Zheng's eyes falling on the first row, the students suddenly realized.

Then they all quickly lowered their heads helplessly.

Sure enough, Lin Zheng was heard speaking the next second.

"Shang Yan, you were late and absent from class last week. I made you recite the full text of "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" from the elective textbook. Have you memorized it?"

The students in the class choked.

The full text of "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" is 840 words and 120 sentences, which is quite a large composition.

It's impossible for any of them to memorize that when they have nothing to do, let alone Shang Yan.

——

Who in the grade doesn't know that Shang Yan has excellent grades in all subjects, especially physics and chemistry. No matter how difficult the paper is, he always gets perfect marks.

Results in other subjects are also among the best.

Only Chinese...

Compared to other subjects, those results can only be described as miserable.

As expected, Shang Yan stood up, his voice sounding a little lazy and sleepy.

He was still a little dumb when he spoke:

"No back."

Lao Lin raised his eyebrows, "Why didn't you memorize it?"

Shang Yan was a little impatient, "I can't carry it."

Old Lintou suddenly laughed angrily——

"Can't memorize it? You shouldn't, right? You memorized the periodic table of chemical elements from beginning to end in front of the whole school last Monday! Can "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" be more difficult to memorize than that!?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the classroom fell silent.

Next to Shang Yan's hanging hand, the soft hood that had been quietly nestled in for the entire class suddenly moved.

The white and tender fingertips exposed from the cuffs clenched the pen in his hand a little nervously.

...like a soft-furred creature that tentatively stretched out the tip of its small nose and sniffed at the entrance of the cave.

Shang Yan caught a glimpse of it from the corner of his eye, and his thin lips couldn't help but curl up slightly.

This made Lao Lintou, who had been staring at him, very angry——

"Are you still laughing?!... Your scores in all subjects are so good, but Chinese is like sleepwalking every time - let me tell you, if your Chinese scores improve, you can compete for the top spot in science, but if you don't, you won't be able to do anything else.

!”

Lao Lin's hair was on fire, his face was red, and the whole class was frightened into silence.

Shang Yan, who had taken the most firepower, looked much calmer, just standing there with a slight frown.

The sunlight approaching noon poured in from the window, casting a faint shadow on the cold white and deep facial features.

Old Lintou took a long breath and sighed, finally suppressing his anger.

He looked at Shang Yan with a cold face, and also glanced at Li Zhe and the others in the back row.

"Either you memorize it yourself, or you can ask those of your guys who fool around every day to memorize it for you - if you can't memorize this article today, from now on you will stand back and listen to my Chinese classes!"

"..."

There was silence for a few seconds in the dead-silent classroom.

Several boys around Li Zhe in the back row couldn't hold back their anger, and some were already swearing in a low voice.

Seeing that the conflict was about to intensify, Shang Yan stood at the front and lowered his eyes to suppress the dark coldness in his pupils.

He sneered softly.

Without saying a word, Shang Yan turned around and walked to the back of the classroom.

At this moment, Su Miao Miao, who had been struggling for dozens of seconds next to him, made up his mind and reached out to grab the corner of Shang Yan's shirt.

"..."

Shang Yan was pulled to a halt.

He turned sideways and looked over.

I saw the girl who had not said a word since entering the classroom standing up uneasily and hesitantly.

She loosened her fingertips from Shang Yan's clothes and spoke in a very low voice.

"Teacher, can I carry it for him...?"

Lin Zheng was stunned and frowned subconsciously.

"You want to recite "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" for him? The whole thing?"

"……Um."

So, for the next three minutes of class, plus two minutes of procrastination, the whole class was stunned until finally they were completely numb, listening to the girl standing in the corner of the front row of the classroom reciting "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" word for word.

When the last sentence "This hatred lasts forever" fell, the whole class fell into dead silence.

Even Lin Zheng was stunned for a few seconds before he came back to his senses and looked at the girl with great admiration.

“There’s not a single pronunciation error, it’s incredible.”

——

If other students might have listened to their request to Shang Yan last week and went back to review, then the girl in front of her who had just transferred to the class obviously did it entirely out of personal accumulation.

Being able to recite "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" fluently and proficiently, Lao Lintou felt like he had seen his future protégé.
