6, knock on the door(2/2)

The young boy nodded again.

"What a coincidence." Xie Xingyin suddenly reached out and snatched away his Rubik's Cube, raising his hand and placing it out of his reach. The young boy looked at him with beautiful dark eyes, but still said nothing.

"I'm not a good person." Xie Xingyin said.

Seeing the young boy's indifferent expression, Xie Xingyin shook his head. He was so good.

"Poor little boy, what's your name?"

The little boy still didn't speak.

Xie Xingyin usually doesn't talk much, so it's hard for him to keep nagging for so long alone: "You should know your last name, right?"

"My surname is Lu." Even if he spoke, the number of bytes he said was still pitiful.

"Okay, little friend Xiao Lu," Xie Xingyin smiled, rubbed his head, and returned the Rubik's Cube to him.

"Call me, brother, and I will protect you."

But Xiao Lu refused to scream and only looked at him with his beautiful dark eyes. Xie Xingyin no longer insisted.

"I always feel that you look familiar. Have we met somewhere?" Xie Xingyin asked, "...Xiao Lu, are you also from Hengcheng? Where do you live?"

Xie Xingyin thought he wouldn't answer, but he didn't expect him to speak: "Chengbei Mansion."

Xie Xingyin said "Hey": "That's no wonder, we live in the same place."

No wonder this kid looks familiar.

The time here is different from the outside world. Xie Xingyin's survival time countdown has indeed stopped, but the clock hanging on the wall is spinning normally.

The second hand rotates tremblingly, and the minute hand gets closer and closer to 11 o'clock.

When the access control time came, the chandelier suddenly went out.

"Go to sleep."

Xie Xingyin had pushed the bed that was originally placed in the center of the room to the wall, letting Xiao Lu sleep on the inside in case something quietly dragged him away in the middle of the night.

He pulled the quilt up for Xiao Lu and asked, "Are you afraid?"

Xiao Lu shook his head.

"That's good." Xie Xingyin smiled and told him, "If you are afraid, you can hold your brother to sleep. Remember, never open the door at night, and don't get up to go to the toilet alone. If something happens, you can wake me up, okay?

?”

Xiao Lu looked at him but still said nothing and nodded.

"Bang, bang, bang--"

There was a knock at the door.

The sound was neither light nor heavy, neither slow nor urgent. But the rhythmic percussion sounded particularly clear in the silent night.

The clock on the wall pointed to one o'clock in the morning.

The quilt on the bed was scattered on one side, and Xie Xingyin lay on his back and fell asleep. He slept unprepared, completely unaware that the child who originally slept next to him had disappeared and turned into a young man instead.

It was as if the man didn't hear the knock on the door. Not only was he unmoved, he even covered Xie Xingyin's ears.

After a long time, I didn't get the response I wanted. The knock on the door seemed to be boring and finally disappeared.

Lu Fen let go of his hand and lowered his eyes to look at the young man lying beside him. Xie Xingyin turned over unconsciously in his sleep, and put his arms and calves on him.

Through the thin fabric of his shirt, his body temperature and heartbeat could clearly seep through. Lu Fen looked away, never having thought that he would ever have such emotions as "I'm sorry" in his lifetime.

Dim light came in from the window and sprinkled on the bed.

After a long while, Lu Fen pursed his lips, the corners of his lips slightly raised as if he was interested, and whispered two words:

"elder brother."

Early the next morning, Xie Xingyin was awakened by a knock on the door. His head was groggy. When he opened his eyes, he saw Xiao Lu holding one of his arms, sleeping obediently.

Xie Xingyin put on his clothes and looked out through the peephole. Li Wei was standing outside the door.

"Brother Xie." Li Wei looked a little panicked.

"Did something happen last night?" Xie Xingyin saw that her expression was not good and he opened the door quickly.

Xie Xingyin turned sideways and motioned for her to come in, but Li Wei didn't move.

"Brother Xie, look out the window."

Xie Xingyin opened the curtains and was stunned. It was already early morning, but it was still dark outside the window and the full moon was hanging high.

"There seems to be no daylight in this apartment."

Xie Xingyin's heart trembled, this place was really evil.

Li Wei's frowning eyebrows did not relax for a long time. She pointed to the corridor and said in a low voice: "There is another strange thing. I woke up early in the morning and found that the body of the rooster head was missing."

Xie Xingyin's expression became more serious and he looked at the clock on the wall. It was just five minutes past six in the morning.

He twisted the quilt for Xiao Lu, who was still awake, and followed her out to take a look.

At the end of the corridor, the body originally wrapped in white cloth was no longer there, leaving only reddish-brown traces of dried blood on the ground.

"When did the body disappear?" Xie Xingyin's expression was serious. From the corner of his eye, he noticed that the doors to other rooms were still closed.

"I'm not sure. It looks like it was last night." Li Wei squatted down blankly and stared at the pool of blood. "I was so scared that I couldn't sleep all night. As soon as the access control was lifted, I ran out to look for him.

You knocked on your door after seeing that the body was missing."

Xie Xingyin nodded. It was unlikely that one of them had taken away the body in such a short period of time.

"If you ask me, my worst guess... you know we are here to find the human-faced dog." Xie Xingyin squatted down as he spoke, tilting his head to look at the footprints on the ground through the light and shadow.

When they moved the body last night, they left a lot of footprints scattered around in a mess, and it was impossible to tell whose footprints belonged to them for a while.

He knew what Li Wei meant. If no one had touched the body, it could only be something else. "Maybe it was the monster that did it. It is near us."

If the human-faced dog is a monster that eats human flesh, then their situation is in danger.

"I'll go see if the others are alright first." Seeing that there were no clues here, Li Wei shook her head and stood up.

Xie Xingyin said "hmm" and remained in a half-crouched position without moving.

He clearly remembered that he had seen the body of Cockscomb Head last night before he finally entered the house. Since no one came out at night, how could the body disappear out of thin air?

There was the sound of Li Wei knocking on the door from behind. She knocked on the doors of other rooms one by one and asked.

Xie Xingyin kept his original posture and did not move. In fact, from what he could tell, it was Li Wei who really had the time to commit the crime.

But this idea is too exaggerated.

Suddenly, Xie Xingyin caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. When he looked up, he found that it was Xiao Lu who had run out at some point.

"Are you awake?" Xie Xingyin smiled at him.

"Yeah." Xiao Lu blinked and suddenly handed something to Xie Xingyin.

They were Lao Liang's spectacle lenses. He saw Xiao Lu playing with them last night.

Xie Xingyin originally wanted him to stop making trouble, but through the dark lenses, he actually caught a glimpse of the dried blood on the ground emitting a faint green light.

Xie Xingyin reached out and took the lens.
