Chapter 21 Airborne Combat

Chapter 21 Airborne Operations

On the drop deck of the Macragge's Glory.

A hundred Space Marines waited for airborne orders amid the humming sound of machinery.

The battle to eliminate the plague fleet continues.

From time to time, you can see gorgeous light beams streaking through the cold, quiet space, very bright.

On the battlefield, the scene of some plague ships disintegrating in flames and shattering silently was also very shocking.

The flagship was destroyed, and the combat effectiveness of the Plague Fleet also plummeted, and it was slaughtered and harvested by the Imperial Fleet.

Other warships are still chasing down those plague ships that are trying to resist or escape, adding another layer of glory to their glorious record.

Macragge's Glory gave up this great opportunity for glory.

Compared to the vain glory, Guilliman cares more about what happens on the surface.

Those plague warriors must be planning some terrible and evil ritual again.

There's absolutely no harm in stopping them as soon as possible.

These one hundred Space Marines come from two different Chapters, forming a unique spearhead force.

Guilliman tried to mix different chapters to fight together, so that they would no longer be the old model of independent and lone wolves.

He was determined to adopt a brand new system. During guerrilla warfare, these groups could fight independently, but when gathered together, they could fight on a large scale and in an organized manner like during the Great Expedition.

In that case, he can invest tens of thousands of perfectly coordinated Space Marines in certain large-scale battles at one time, overwhelming all enemies. He can also let the war groups fight independently on specific battlefields to improve efficiency.

Among the one hundred Space Marines, fifty were from the Ultramarines Chapter. They wore the dark blue armor unique to the Ultramarines. The Ultramarines veterans in the front row even all wore Terminator armor.

The other fifty were from the Dawn Chapter, a sub-group of the Ultramarines. The armor was painted gray with blue accents.

This chapter is not as wealthy as the Ultramarines. There are only two or three veterans wearing Terminator armor, and the rest are standard armor.

On the deck, hundreds of technical experts and machine slaves were busy back and forth, preparing for the landing of the Space Marines.

Space Marines wearing Terminator armor are performing self-checks with the help of the Mechanic-Priest to ensure that the armor is in good operating condition and that their terrifying combat effectiveness will not be greatly reduced due to poor maintenance.

Space Marines wearing standard power armor were equipped with tall assault shields with the assistance of armed servitors.

Standard power armor lacks the sheer thickness of Terminator armor. In the coming air raids, the bulky assault shield will enhance their survivability in close combat.

With a rumbling sound, the elevator lifted the ammunition stored on the bottom floor to the deck.

The regiment's servants in smart uniforms, with the help of mechanical slaves, distributed the ammunition to each warrior.

At the same time, all Space Marines conducted a final pre-battle inspection of the armor and weapons on themselves and their comrades.

The Chapter Chaplain strode among the ranks, listened to the warriors' oaths, and affixed the oath papers to their armor with wax.

With a hissing sound, the seal of sacred hot iron was sealed on the wax lid.

Thanks to years of training, every member, whether a warrior or a servant, is working perfectly and efficiently.

"The Macragge's Glory has entered the orbit of the planet, and the airborne operation will begin in ten minutes."

The announcement was swallowed up by the noise and bustle of the preparations going on, but was not repeated.

The Space Marines' hearing was enhanced, and they all heard this command clearly.

Immediately, a deafening horn sounded on the deck.

All the Space Marines and servants stopped what they were doing, stood at attention and saluted, looking in the direction of the arch with burning eyes.

In their expectant eyes, a majestic giant wearing a blue armor of destiny strode towards him with a loud horn sound, followed closely by the Glory Guard.

The person who came was none other than the Imperial Regent, the Lord of Ultramar, the genetic father of the great Ultramarines, and the Thirteenth son of the Emperor - Guilliman.

Guilliman wears the Gauntlet of the Hand on his left hand and the Silent Emperor's Sword at his waist.

The strength and will shown in his every move would make anyone hold their breath.

"Are you ready?" Guilliman looked at the many Space Marines and made a low voice.

"My lord, everything is ready." The first company commander of the Dawn Star Chapter said loudly.

"Awaiting your dispatch at any time, my lord." Sicarius, the second captain of the Ultramarines Chapter, said.

The other Space Marines all stood upright, looking at Guilliman with awe and admiration in their eyes.

Admiration shone like light on their faces, and they were ready to die at any moment for this great man.

"Very good." Guilliman looked at all the Space Marines firmly, "It's time for those traitors to see the consequences of rebelling against the Empire and humanity. The Empire will surely win."

"Must win."

"Must win."

The Space Marine roared, his loud voice drowning out all the noise.

Some of the Space Marines, including Sicarius, were loaded into the drop pod, and were thrown to the planet Sara by the ejection device like flowers, turning into flowing fire and falling to the surface.

This is the most common airborne method used by Space Marines. It is fast. When landing, it can also use the violent impact caused by falling from high altitude to bring a wave of bombardment to the opponent, causing first-hand damage.

Guilliman and some other warriors took a Thunderhawk transport plane to conduct a landing operation.

The original bodies and terminators were too big to fit into the airborne pods, so they could only be transported using heavy-duty aerial vehicles.

Planet Sarah has been surrounded by miserable green plague gas, and the ejected airdrop pods are like cannonballs, rushing into the billowing cloud of plague poison.

"Forty seconds, get ready for battle." Sicarius shouted as the airborne capsule was rapidly entering the atmosphere of Planet Sara.

The high-speed descent brought about an extremely strong and sharp sound of airflow, and even the thick bulkheads of the airborne cabin could not completely isolate this harsh sound.

The other soldiers did not respond, they all remained silent, always keeping themselves in the best state of preparation.

As the atmosphere became denser, the rocket thrusters at the bottom of the airborne capsule also began to activate, releasing powerful propulsion flames and accelerating the descent.

The space capsule falling at high speed trembled violently, the interior gradually heated up, and the huge friction turned into noise and high heat.

The entire airdrop process will not take more than five minutes, including the time the airdrop capsule flies in space.

Once it comes into contact with the target planet's atmosphere, the thrusters will be started to accelerate the descent, and it will fall from high altitude to the ground within tens of seconds.

Landing from an altitude of 10,000 meters in a few tens of seconds, this kind of airdrop method is undoubtedly seeking death for other troops, and it is impossible for the body to withstand it.

But it's not a big deal for the Space Marines.

This way of airborne also demonstrates the power of the Space Marines.

Sicarius tried hard to control his mood. There was only noise around him. He could not see the enemy he was about to fight, nor could he see his comrades in the same airborne pod.

There was nothing he could do until the drop pod landed completely.

Compared to this way of entering into the sky, he prefers the surgically precise deployment and swift attack of the Storm Bird.

Guilliman had a very valid reason for deciding to use the drop pods to release his troops.

Smashing the Space Marines known as the Emperor's Angels onto the enemy's rear positions without warning can cause a more devastating psychological shock, overwhelming the opponent by three points.

With a rumbling sound, the door of the drop cabin exploded outwards, and the restraints restraining the Space Marines also popped open at the same time.

They landed very accurately on a traitor's artillery position.

Before those cultists with various blasphemous symbols tattooed on their faces and bodies could realize what was going on, they were already blown away by the huge shock wave caused when the airborne capsule landed. Some of the cultists who were close by

The body was directly shattered, and a little bit of flesh and blood was scattered.

"For Guilliman." Sicarius, who activated his power sword and held a bolt gun, let out a war cry.
