Chapter 67 A Bunch of Crazies

Chapter 67 A group of madmen

Sheng Hai pursed his lips, found all the name tags of the victims among the wreckage, and put them in his breast pocket.

The originally empty chest suddenly bulged. In this operation, twenty-six people came out, but ten companions were lost as a result.

"Then we will split up and take back all the information we can."

He endured the grief and ordered, and then the team members walked through the empty door frame together, and then split up to look for useful information.

Fortunately, the institute's solar power supply system was not damaged, so the lights in the institute can still be turned on.

Ying Xian and Shu Kongdu went straight to the staircase in the corner leading to the second underground floor. It was quiet under the stairs, so they went down with peace of mind.

Surprisingly, the downstairs is divided into two areas. There is a large glass wall on the left. Inside the wall are two operating beds and a pile of research equipment that I don’t know what they are. There are also five neatly placed in the corner.

A round transparent water tank filled with blue liquid.

Two of the five water tanks contained a man and a woman respectively, their bodies soaked in azure liquid, with several parts from different creatures attached to their bodies.

Shu Kongdu used his metal power to directly destroy the locked glass door, and walked to the water tank with Ying Xian.

The man and woman in the water tank had no vital signs, floating quietly in the blue liquid like dead fish.

"These people are simply crazy!" Ying Xian cursed secretly and moved his eyes to the whiteboard beside him.

This underground research institute had been abandoned by those guys, and they seemed to be in a hurry when they left, not even having time to wipe the whiteboard clean.

Ying Xian could barely tell from the remaining text that they were conducting an illegal experiment to modify humans, and they had also obtained something from a place that could change genes by inhaling it.

She then remembered that the time when the zombies broke out was twelve o'clock, and a bold idea suddenly flashed through her mind.

Perhaps this zombie outbreak is not a natural disaster at all, but some kind of inhaled virus created by these madmen, causing a large part of the world's people to inhale and become infected.

But...where did the superpower come from?

She asked Shu Kongdu to go upstairs to find Sheng Hai, while she continued to rummage on the second underground floor.

That group of people had taken away most of the important documents when they left, and the rest had basically no research value and could even be said to be waste products.

When the team gathered on the second underground floor, they were all shocked by a man and a woman in the water tank.

"These guys really don't care about human life!" Sheng Hai's eyes flashed with anger. Ying Xian pointed to the remaining words on the messy whiteboard and asked him to take a closer look.

The group of people put all the documents and research materials in this room, including the whiteboard, into the space of the space system user, and then gathered outside another room on the second basement floor.

With the giant zombie as a precedent, no one dared to open the closed door directly.

Ying Xian directly put his ear to the door and listened for a while, "There is no sound inside, you should be able to go in."

The sound of the giant zombie was heard by Ying Xian before. Sheng Hai did not doubt that he was there and directly asked the gold superpower to open the door lock.

The moment the door was pushed open, an unspeakable stench instantly poured out and entered everyone's nostrils through the masks.

This stench is many times more disgusting than that of rotting zombies. It seems like various substances have been fermented together and then rotted, but there is no place to discharge them, so they can only gather in such a confined space.

Everyone was so smoked that they couldn't open their eyes, so they had to hide in the corridor and wait for the smell to dissipate before going in.

Ying Xian tilted his head towards Shu Kongdu and spoke next to him in a weak voice, "It smells like corpse odor, but the strange thing is that ordinary zombies don't emit such a strong odor at all."

"Have you put on the mask?" Shu Kongdu opened his eyes from the stench, glanced at Ying Xian, and saw that she was wearing the mask tightly, and then he felt relieved.

After the smell dissipated a little, Sheng Hai took the lead and entered the room first.

The moment the light is turned on, the entire room is illuminated.

What was revealed to everyone was a large, somewhat empty space. The entire wall on the left was lined with one-person-high water tanks filled with blue liquid. At a glance, there were at least a dozen of them.

In each water tank are strange corpses, which are similar to the horned and beaked zombie we encountered before.

On the other side are several single rooms separated by iron bars and walls. They are more like prisons than single rooms.

There was a grotesque corpse lying in each of the single rooms. The iron railings of one room were damaged. It seemed that the ox-horned and beaked zombie escaped from here and then locked the door unconsciously before being trapped.

basement one.

Between the water tank and the single room are two operating beds, some surgical instruments, and several medical equipment.

There was a restrained corpse lying on the operating bed. Blood stained the entire operating bed. There were also some animal parts and human body parts scattered on the ground. It looked like someone was in a panic when he just wanted to start human experiments.

Forced to leave under circumstances.

There were several iron cages covered with black cloth at the end of the room. Ying Xian walked over and lifted the cloth, revealing the dead animals lying quietly in the cages.

Shu Kongdu's face became a little unsightly after seeing the animal's remains. When he saw the dead animal again, his whole face turned pale instantly.

"What's wrong with you?" Ying Xian, who noticed something was wrong with Shu Kongdu, immediately ran back to him, "Would you like to go out and take a breather?"

Shu Kongdu shook his head, and his tone was a little conceited, "It's okay, I just remember that when I was a child, there were people who tortured and killed animals next door to my house, which made me feel a little uncomfortable."

This explanation is too feeble, and what caused his current reaction must be psychological shadow.

His neighbor is by no means a simple animal torturer, but Ying Xian couldn't ask clearly, "Okay, but I can't stand this scene. Do you want to go out with me and sit for a while?"

Seeing that Ying Xian was thinking about himself, Shu Kongdu did not refuse and nodded lightly.

Ying Xian and Shu Kongdu were sitting on the ground outside, but his expression was still very bad, he just lowered his head and said nothing.

Ying Xian looked a little worried and took out a bottle of Coke from the space and handed it to him, "Although it smells a bit bad now, drinking some Coke might make you feel better."

After drinking the Coke, Shu Kongdu's face finally looked better.

Sheng Hai and his people were in that room looking for things that the mad scientists might have left behind before they left. Ying Xian waited until Shu Kongdu's expression returned to normal before returning to the room.

Ying Xian walked to the cabinet in the corner and opened the locked cabinet door with the key inserted in the cabinet.

A row of files with different names printed on them lay quietly in the cabinet. It seemed that the group of people had not had time to take them with them when they left, or that they were not very important to them.

Ying Xian's eyes swept across the rows of names, but suddenly stopped on a name called "Wu Shaobin".

This is the pseudonym my father used when he was performing latent missions...
