Chapter 1 Endgame(1/2)
Chapter 1 The End
The thick lead-gray clouds are boundless, covering the entire sky in sight, as if they are slowly pressing down, making the room become more and more dim.
He sat on the edge of the rooftop, lifted his right hand, and in the thin sky light, he looked carefully at the wounds that were still seeping blood on the back of his hand, his eyes a little complicated.
"Is that today?"
After a while, he put down his hands, closed his eyes slightly, raised his head to feel the slightly wet breeze blowing on his face, smelled the fresh air brought by the wind, and relieved the discomfort caused by the strong bloody smell behind him.
"Prophet..."
Suddenly, he heard a weak and low female voice sounding behind him.
He slowly turned to look.
There was a bloody and terrifying scene on the rooftop, with corpses rising upside down on the ground, almost all of whom were shot and killed, and pools of blood and bullet holes could be seen everywhere.
Obviously, a tragic gun battle broke out here.
Among the corpses, a short-haired woman with pale face struggled to get up from the pool of blood.
The originally delicate and expensive white suit on her body was almost completely dyed red by blood, and the injuries on her chest and abdomen were still oozing blood.
But the short-haired woman still trembled and straightened her upper body, knelt on the ground, held the gun with both hands and pointed the gun at him.
On the blood-stained rooftop, he was the only one sitting cleanly on the edge of the rooftop, incompatible with this scarlet area.
He stared at the seriously injured short-haired woman with no sadness or joy on her face. He seemed to not care about the dark muzzle, but just said, "You are still alive."
"Thank you for your reminder."
The short-haired woman held the gun and stared at him with her eyes tightly, her eyes filled with unspeakable shock.
After a while, she said in a low voice: "I finally understood... No wonder you were surrounded by us, and there was no way out and there was no support outside. You can still be so calm... No wonder you said that all of us would die under gunfire. It turns out that you knew that we were two groups and would die together..."
"No wonder they are so eager to kill you, and they also want your body and brain..." Her face was full of incredible, "It turns out that the 'Prophet' is not just a nickname, you... can you really predict the future?"
He was silent and did not answer.
The answers to some questions are long destined, and it doesn’t make sense to answer them.
"But..."
The short-haired woman took a deep breath, suddenly pulled the trigger with her fingertips, and sneered: "Prophet, should I say you are arrogant or trusting your prediction too much? You actually revealed in advance that I would die of a bullet's headshot. I tried to wear a helmet, which made me escape..."
He still didn't say anything, just looked at her quietly, but there was a hint of pity in his eyes.
The short-haired woman felt a little nervous when she saw him calmly, but she had a gun in her hand, and the man in front of her did not have any weapons in her hand, and there was no chance to take out or pick up the weapon, which also gave her more confidence.
"The future you predicted has changed." She said calmly and coldly: "Since I am still alive, you will die."
And he still sat there silently watching her.
It seems that I am waiting for fate to come, but it seems that I don’t want to talk to the dead.
"Don't you want to say something before you die? For example, buy me?" The short-haired woman slowly clamped the trigger, "or have you predicted the future where you will be shot by me and gave up resisting?"
"well……"
He sighed and finally spoke.
"Correct your two mistakes." He said slowly: "First, I did 'see' the end of my death today, but not by you, but by electric shock."
"Electric shock?" The short-haired woman was stunned and then sneered: "No wonder you have suddenly lived in a remote place where birds do not shit. The whole building is not allowed to be powered on, and even all the wires were removed. She lives like an ancient person. It turns out that you are also afraid of death?"
She pulled the trigger fingertip and began to force her: "Don't worry, I will help you change the future. You will not die from electric shock, but from my gun..."
“Change the future?”
He smiled when he heard this, and his sarcastic smile seemed to be laughing at her, and also to mock himself, "This is the second mistake... What I see is not the future, but... destiny."
"Is there any difference?" the short-haired woman narrowed her eyes.
"The destiny cannot be changed. I just saw your 'end' in advance." He looked at the woman with pity.
"Yeah?"
Perhaps it was angered by the pity in his eyes that the short-haired woman was infatuated with namelessness. Driven by inexplicable uneasiness, she sneered and pulled the trigger.
At this moment—
It seemed that because of excessive bleeding, she suddenly felt a darkness in front of her eyes, and a strong sense of dizziness hit her scalp, causing her already weak body to shake, and her muzzle aimed at the other party was also tilted.
"Bang!"
After a gunshot, the bullet hit the cement wall on the edge of the rooftop. As a little sparks splashed, the bullet was also bounced away.
As soon as she recovered from waking up, she felt a sudden pain in her forehead, as if she had been hit by a heavy hammer. Blood quickly flowed down from her forehead, blurring her vision.
"I...why..."
The short-haired woman struggled to support her body, tremblingly raised her hand to touch the wound on her forehead.
"Who... who fired the gun?"
Then she instantly realized that after her shot hit the wall, the stray bullet bounced over from the bullet just now hit her own forehead!
"How is it possible..." The short-haired woman was trembling all over, looking at him almost dull, then fell to the ground weakly.
Before she lost consciousness, she heard his sigh and suddenly recalled the prediction that the other party said—
'You'll be killed by a bullet.'
At this moment, she finally understood what he meant by "destiny".
Immediately, her consciousness fell into permanent darkness and fell to the ground.
The rooftop became completely quiet.
"This is your ending, your life..."
He shook his head slightly, and looked at the scene on the rooftop that looked like Shura's purgatory, which made him feel even more and more sad.
This is exactly the same as the future he foresees.
"I can't escape..."
Close his eyes, a small memory slowly emerged in his mind.
——The whole body was twitching in the numbness of the current, and everything in front of him was constantly becoming blurred. He seemed to have fallen on the ground, and he could only see his right hand, which was close to him, and blood was still oozing out of the wound on the back of his hand. In just a few seconds, the picture was completely in darkness.
This is the memory he received a few days ago.
So, when he found that his right hand was injured in the enemy's attack and saw the same wound on the back of his hand, he understood-
I will die from an electric shock soon.
Since an accident a few years ago, he has found that he often sees the deaths of others, and the future he foresees cannot be changed no matter what.
A friend’s terminal illness, a colleague’s bankruptcy, and a family’s accident…
His life experience is like a movie. He accidentally turned to the last page of other people's scripts and saw the ending of these people in their life experiences in advance, but he could not make any changes.
It's like a destiny that cannot be violated.
He called this ability "foreseeing the end."
A few days ago, he also foresaw his final outcome.
——Death from electric shock.
Although he knew that the ending he foresaw never went wrong, no one would be willing to die, so he tried to eliminate all the threat of electrocution and wanted to try whether he could escape this disaster.
However……
When he was attacked this time, he had already tried to change the future. He clearly informed the enemy of all the situation in advance, but the final result still did not escape the outcome he foreseeable.
"Is it really impossible to change..."
"Since the ending is already destined, what's the point of letting me know in advance? Do you like to give me spoilers so much?"
He sighed, looked up at the dark sky that seemed to be about to be oppressed, and felt more helpless in his heart.
And the sky above his head naturally would not respond to the anger in his heart.
"I don't believe it."
His eyes gradually became cold, "The circuit of the entire building was dismantled, and there was no electricity within a range of 500 meters. All potential threats that could form current were extinguished. Even if the reinforcements reached, I would not go downstairs and just leave by helicopter. Can I still electrocute me?"
He didn't know how he was electrocuted, but the enemy attacked this time came up from downstairs. Perhaps the enemy still had power grids and other means in the corridor?
He will avoid all threatening possibilities.
Suddenly, a cold raindrop fell from the sky and fell into his eyes.
“It’s raining?”
He subconsciously closed the eye that was hit by the raindrops, but an incredible thought suddenly arose in his heart.
rain?
Wait... Could it be...
At this moment, when he looked at the sky with clouds, he suddenly woke up as if he was shocked when he saw the flashing and wandering light among the dark clouds, he stood up suddenly and ran towards the entrance of the rooftop.
To be continued...
