Chapter 7 Tears in the City God Hall (Part 2)

Before he went to the battlefield, Wang Yang actually had some ideological preparations.

He thought that the battlefield would be cruel, but as a soldier, he had to go to the battlefield and fight against the enemy. Of course, it was not a life-and-death life.

Even Wang Yang thought that he had been hunting with his father since he was a child, and he was a person who had seen life and death, and he still had a certain ability to bear it in his heart.

But now...

But Wang Yang found out that he was wrong, and it was outrageously wrong.

It turns out that on the battlefield it is not just about life or death, but also about innocent killings and cruel massacres.

At this moment, his head buzzed, just trying to find a place to hide, and he told himself that none of this was true.

But facing reality, he didn't know where to hide...

"The 540th Regiment, their brothers from the 6th Company of the 540th Regiment, they were tortured here by cruel enemies..."

Wang Yang's mind was so strange that it turned into a blank space. Although he had only been in the army for three months and knew the cruelty of the battlefield, he still felt unacceptable when he saw the enemy being so cruel and his comrades died in front of him.

He almost moaned and staggered stiffly and turned the crater and walked towards the original position of the 6th Company of the 540th Regiment.

About thirty meters to the left of the crater is a broken M4 Sherman medium-sized main battle tank that seemed to be still emitting blue smoke. It was black in front of it, and it was obviously hit by a shell directly in front of it.

Not far away, there is an unknown highland. If Wang Yang remembers correctly, it should be the location of the 540th Regiment's artillery battalion artillery group, and there is also the front position of the 6th Company.

But there are still traces of positions on the high ground? It seems that the entire top of the mountain has been overturned, and the woods and weeds have long disappeared.

There were dark spots burned by gasoline bombs everywhere, and the dust on the mountain seemed to have been overturned countless times.

When Li Guang was first shining, the dark marks were everywhere, as if the blood had dyed the mountain red.

Tears couldn't stop flowing out, and Wang Yang walked forward unconsciously. In front of him, in addition to the M4 Sherman medium tank, there were two enemy transport vehicles and an M3 semi-tracked armored vehicle in the distance.

Here, Wang Yang could not see a body of the enemy. It seemed that the enemy had already hurriedly cleaned the battlefield here, but the bodies of dozens of volunteer soldiers were still exposed in the night.

On the position, there were debris of guns and cannons everywhere and machine guns and cannon parts were thrown all over the mountain.

The remains of the martyrs were still in various postures and remained motionless.

Some of them were fired with a machine gun, but one of their legs was blown off. Some of them grabbed the front, but their eyes were still wide open. Although they were dead, they were still spraying with flames of hatred...

There was also a warrior whose body was stained with blood. He was holding a steel helmet in his hand and his arms were still slamming downwards and slamming downwards, as if he was still holding something in his hand.

When Wang Yang walked closer and looked, he found that his other hand had almost all five fingers broken. It seemed that if he didn't do this, then he would be unable to pull out with an enemy in his arms...

Seeing such a scene, Wang Yang was extremely shocked.

He seemed to hear the roar of airplanes and cannons in his ears, and the enemy was fierce and barking, but the warriors shouted slogans on the hills of smoke and fire, knocking the enemy to the front of the position again and again.

But there were too many enemies and the enemy's artillery fire was too fierce. In the fierce war, our warriors finally had to retreat and withdraw from their positions. What was cruel was that due to the need for battle and the enemy's crazy attack, they could not even collect the bodies of the martyrs.

Walking to the corner of the mountain, about twenty meters in front of the destroyed M4 Sherman medium tank, Wang Yang found a Soviet-made large-caliber artillery that our army had been blown up, splashed with blood.

"Company Commander Hua?"

Wang Yang screamed in grief, tears fell down, and when he softened his body, he knelt in front of the martyr.

He knew this person. This was Hua Yingui, the commander of the artillery company of the 540th Regiment. His palm was still tightly grasping the edge of the artillery, but the other hand had turned black. His military uniform had been burned to pieces, and his body was still blocked on the cannon door. It seemed that he had never thought about how high the cannon chamber would be when he was brave enough to kill the enemy. Anyway, his belly was charred.

A large number of volunteer soldiers died in Chenghuang Hall, and even the baggage and weapons could not be transported out. Everything in front of them showed that an extremely fierce battle had occurred here. Even our artillery soldiers fought with the enemy in person, and even the artillery company commander Hua Yingui died here.

Of course, Wang Yang would never know that just eight hours ago, the 540th Regiment was here to engage in an arduous position defense battle.

Wang Yang was in a 180th Division, where he was appointed to be in a critical moment in the second phase of the fifth counterattack war. In order to fight, the Volunteer Army General Command commanded the Chinese Volunteer Army and the Korean People's Army to move northwards. In order to cover the troops' safe withdrawal from the state of confrontation with the enemy, the 180th Division was ordered to block the enemy's pursuers.

Nearly 10,000 wounded people were waiting to withdraw, and there were large forces intensively moving, but ahead were rushing enemies. If the enemy's tanks and cannons were allowed to drive in, the consequences would be unimaginable. The 180th Division had to set up their troops alone in Chunchuan, Jiaping, and the areas south of the North Han River to defend.

The 180th Division was the 24th Brigade composed of the Xia, Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan Military Regions in 1947 when local armed forces were concentrated to form the New Field Corps. In February 1949, the entire army was unified and was called the 180th Division, which was established by the 60th Army of the 18th Corps. During the strategic pursuit of the national Liberation War, the commanders and soldiers fought bloody battles and made indelible achievements for the victory of the Liberation War with their blood and sweat and lives.

This is a revolutionary team with glorious traditions. Under the leadership of the division commander Zheng Qigui, they performed their fine style of daring to fight and fighting bravely, blocking the enemy on the north bank of the Han River. Even the 538th Regiment, which was guarding the line of Tumudong, sent Wang Yang's reconnaissance company to resolutely counterattack behind the enemy.

But over time, enemies on various fronts surged in. The 180th Division faced five or six times the enemy, and soon became numerous and fewer.

Although it delayed the enemy's attack, it was also in an unfavorable situation of being attacked from three sides and fighting against the water. After blocking the enemy for 5 days, the enemy had gathered a large number of cars and tanks in the south of the Northern Han River. Relying on powerful artillery fire and the advantages of the air force, it launched a fierce attack on the 180th Division.

The 538th Regiment, which was defending head-on, was no longer supported under the enemy's repeated heavy attacks. Even Wang Yang and his reconnaissance were not able to withdraw, and their positions were broken by the enemy before they could even withdraw.

The 540th Regiment guarding the second line immediately fell into the enemy's crazy attack. The Chenghuangtang Highland was extremely important. Once it was broken through, the 180th Division would fall into the enemy's arc encirclement on the entire south bank of the Han River.

Behind is the Han River, and the surrounding area is full of enemies. The 540th Regiment fought an unprecedented tragic battle in the Chenghuangtang Highlands.

Under the enemy's almost uninterrupted bombardment of aircraft and cannons, the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion, which was blocking the enemy head-on, fought only more than 10 people under the enemy's consecutive attacks. Under the leadership of instructor Ren Zhenhua, he launched hand-to-hand combat with the US military until he died with the US military at the last moment.

The gun camp's position was broken through by the 24th US Division before it could be transferred. When groups of tanks were crushed towards the Chinese soldiers, although the battalion commander ordered the abandonment of the cannon to retreat, the company commander Hua Yingui regarded the cannon as his life and said that he was unwilling to throw it away and escape.

He shouted, "If you want to throw the cannon, just throw me, Hua Yingui first!"

The situation was extremely urgent. The battalion commander was forced to retreat with other soldiers, and Hua Yingui led some of the soldiers to continue to block the enemy behind.

Hua Yingui remained calm in the face of danger. He ordered ammunition to load shells with his hands. At a distance of dozens of meters or even several meters, he fired the cannons flat at the US tanks. The shells hit the US military's iron armor head-on, and the position was shaking up the mountain, which made the US military frightened.

At the last moment, the company commander Ye Yingui faced the tanks crushed in front of him, shot flat within 30 meters, destroying enemy tanks one by one, and finally leaving a bomb to self-destruct. Even if he died, he was willing to leave a complete cannon for the enemy. His blood spilled the entire cannon body, and at the same time it broke Wang Yangwang's heart.

Wang Yang was angry, and blood seemed to burst out from his eyes!

Wang Yang was sad and tears, but it was not for himself...

For the first time, he had the urge to kill.

The first time, when he thought about killing the enemy in his mind, he did not think about being a hero in his mind, and he did not think about how many people he wanted to kill and how many people he would be awarded the title of merit.

Maybe it was his comrades' unwilling spirit of fighting, which infected him, or maybe it was the cruelty of the enemy that made him feel uncontrollable anger.

He suddenly felt a little sad that such compatriots who are not afraid of life and death, such soldiers who sacrifice their lives, will have a broad mind, and how strong their persistent beliefs are, how can such people be fighting without any goal?

He suddenly thought of the past when 300,000 compatriots in Nanjing were massacred by the Japanese invaders, but his comrades who were tortured and killed in the crater appeared in his mind.

He suddenly thought that passing the Yalu River was our great Chinese country, and the history of the Eight-Nation Alliance raging the city of Beijing came to mind.

He suddenly thought of Xiaofeng, and he suddenly thought of Zhao Xiaoyan;

He suddenly remembered his father, and he suddenly remembered the old Master who taught him to recognize words and read;

Then I couldn't help but think of the Nanjing Massacre and the Fire Garden.

He suddenly asked himself, if the United Nations forces enter our country again, what will happen to my relatives, my division commanders, and my beloved people?

If you are not my race, your heart will be different! Eight big words suddenly appeared in your mind!

At that time, the little ocean was, the wandering ocean on the road of life, the simple ocean...

He had not yet understood what the struggle between the bourgeoisie and the proletarian stage was, he had not yet understood the difference between capitalism and communism, and he simply remembered the lessons taught by the military instructors.

The purpose of the US military's attack on North Korea is to suppress our country's development, to prevent our army from regaining Taiwan. The ultimate goal of US imperialism and its lackeys is to shamelessly subvert our new China and turn the Korean Peninsula into a bridgehead for attacking us...

Those who violate the power of our great Han will be punished even if they are far away!
