010 Blacksmith

The blacksmith shop in Yuanhe County is concentrated at the lower air outlet in the northeast corner of the city. As soon as you enter the street, you can smell a clear burnt smell and a jingle of metal knocking sound.

As a county town on the edge of Taihu Lake, there are seven or eight blacksmith shops here, mainly selling various farm tools and daily iron tools, but there are also things such as swords, guns, swords and halberds for sale.

According to the laws of the Song Dynasty, the people do not allow any armor, artillery and flags to hold any weapons of war, but various individual weapons are allowed to hold them by the people.

Whether it is the traditional swords, guns, swords, halberds, axes, hooks and forks, bows, archers, crossbows, or even the latest fast guns and three-eyed guns of this era are allowed to be held privately, just go to the government to register.

As for the reason why weapons control is so loose, it is very simple: in this world with extraordinary power, no place far from the place of human beings is peaceful, and some unfriendly alien activities are in the mountains.

Even in the government, practitioners and warriors will continue to take the initiative to attack and strangle all kinds of alien races that endanger humans, but they can only ensure absolute safety in settlements, roads and other areas of human activity and surrounding areas.

As for other places, the people need to solve the problem by themselves, so the government will open permissions to the people to hold various weapons.

Of course, the existence of extraordinary power is also an important reason for the release of weapons: According to Liang En's personal experience, it is no problem for a practitioner who has just seen the path to hit three or five professional heavy armored warriors with bare hands.

After crossing half a street under Zhang Bo's leadership, they walked into a blacksmith shop that was not very large. As soon as they stepped into the store, an old man about 50 years old walked out of the room.

Maybe because he was smoky and scrambled by the fire all day, even though he was a 50-year-old, this blacksmith looked much older than Zhang Bocang.

"What does this customer want? Although the old store is not big, it should satisfy you."

Liang En looked at the shop carefully and found that there were three or four blacksmiths or blacksmith apprentices in the entire shop. Although the area was not large, there were all kinds of facilities, and a few people cooperated with them.

"Boss Sun, I'm here to find you this time."

After confirming with Uncle Zhang, Liang En bowed to the old man and continued.

"I accidentally got a big food machete, but the overall preservation was not good. I heard that my father-in-law, you are the best in blacksmiths in our county, so I came to ask for help."

"Oh, Dashi Machina?" After hearing Liang En say this, the Blacksmith Sun, who looked a little listless just now, suddenly became energetic, "Can I pass the things?"

"Brother-in-law, please--"

After hearing what the other party said, Liang En immediately signaled to Uncle Zhang to put the long strip of cloth bag I was holding on the table, and then untied the cloth bag to reveal the scimitar inside.

"Oh, this is simply a terrible thing!" After carefully pulling out the blade from the scabbard and looking at it, then tapping it with his fingers, Blacksmith Sun immediately made a regretful voice.

"This is a top-notch big food iron sword. There may not be ten in Suzhou City. How can anyone save things so carelessly?"

"Uh-- this is a weapon seized from the pirates when my ancestors ran to the sea. They could not be maintained on the ship at that time. As a result, after returning to the land, they did not come back. The blacksmith I found did not dare to repair it, and then it turned out like this."

"Thanks to you, you didn't ask anyone to repair it." Sun Blacksmith changed into a small iron hammer and checked it from top to bottom, then raised his head and looked at Liang En and said.

"From the scabbard and hilt of this knife, the craftsmen you are looking for are really lacking in the skills. If they ask them to repair the blade, they will probably directly repair the blade into scrap iron."

"Then the knife now-"

"Of course it can be repaired. Your blade is just a layer of floating rust, and there is almost no problem with the main part, so it is not difficult to repair. I just don't know how the young master wants to repair this knife?"

"Hmm? Is there any difference between these different practices?" Liang En asked in confusion.

"Because all the accessories of your knife are broken, if you want to repair it, you have to replace it with a new one except the knife bar itself."

Pointing to the knife placed on the table, Blacksmith Sun explained.

"The easiest way is to naturally repair the Uzi steel knife bar inside, just 2 taels and one cent. But if you want to match a new hilt and scabbard, you will need 2 taels and five cents and six cents of silver to restore the useful state."

"As for the most complicated thing is to use a set of equipment that can contrast with the iron blade during maintenance, the money spent will not be covered."

"Just simply restore it to a useful state." After thinking about it, Liang En made a decision. At least he felt that the core of this thing was the knife bar, so the rest can be repaired simply.

"No problem, you just look at my craftsmanship. This is the craftsmanship of the Iron Bureau of the Ministry of Works of the Yuan Dynasty." After Liang En made the decision, Blacksmith Sun began to dismantle the scimitar and take out the knife strip, and then put it in the furnace.

As the flames burned, the blade became brighter and brighter, until it turned as bright as strawberries, Blacksmith Sun immediately used iron tongs to pull the knife strip out of the stove and put it in a wooden tank filled with quenching solution.

"Sher—"

With a light sound, a not-so-smelling smell quickly spread throughout the store. After taking a few light breaths, Liang En smelled the smell of sesame, sheep oil and asphalt.

Obviously, the quenching liquid used by the blacksmith is an oily liquid, similar to the quenching oil in modern industries. Compared with water, it can reduce the possibility of deformation or breaking of the knife strip as much as possible.

More than 30 seconds later, Blacksmith Sun pulled out the knife strip from the quenching liquid and quickly wiped the grease on the uncooled charcoal fire, while the knife strip was backfired.

After doing this, Blacksmith Sun began grinding work. Unlike the situation in Yingzhou, Blacksmiths in China prefer to carry out the entire process from creation to grinding.

"Aren't you afraid that I will learn these unique secret recipes?"

Seeing Blacksmith Sun handling one procedure after another in front of him without any hesitation, Liang En asked subconsciously

"Learn to leave? If you just read this way, you can learn to leave. My little old man also accepted it." Sun Blacksmith used wood ash to remove the remaining oil from the knife, and then said while dipping the wood in oil and steel stone powder.

"Just just look at the time, I taught my disciple step by step for half a year, but these two guys were so dull that they didn't learn it well, so unless you are the reincarnation of Laojun's disciple, how could you learn this just by reading it-"

As time went by, the grinding work was over. Blacksmith Sun took out the hematite powder from the box next to it for final polishing, and then applied some things.

A few minutes later, the unique pattern of Uzigang appeared clearly on the blade. Seeing this scene, Blacksmith Sun nodded with satisfaction, and then installed the hilt and scabbard prepared by his apprentice on the blade.

"Okay, see how this knife is now?"

After finishing all the work, Blacksmith Sun held the knife in both hands and handed it to Liang En's hand.

“Not bad, very good.”

After pulling his sword out of the sheath and waving it twice, Liang En nodded with satisfaction. He could feel that the weapons in his hand were very easy when he swung the knife, just like the extension of his arm.

The most important thing is that compared with the previous paper-cutting knife, this scimitar is obviously easier to use. This should be a direct feeling after practicing martial arts.

"Of course it's good. Even if this thing is placed in the west, it is at least used by the commander level. Even if there is only a knife bar left here, it can sell at least 500 taels of silver."

Blacksmith Sun said proudly as he looked at the results of his labor that had been busy for most of the day.

"And my repairs will bring you back to your best condition, whether you continue to use this knife or take it out and sell it for money."
