Chapter 10 The Beginning of an Era
Chapter 10 The beginning of an era
Roy hugged the quilt and huddled in the corner of the bed shivering, watching in horror as Dean Donald Gall led a group of people into his dormitory, which was exclusive to first-year students.
"Master Dean, I didn't skip the night last night...I didn't go to the Moulin Rouge...and I didn't hang out with Ms. Messidy all night..."
The big head was stammering, and his incoherent words were getting darker and darker.
"Shut up!" Donald was so angry at this guy that he interrupted with a livid face: "Don't talk to me until I ask you something!"
Because the ultimate target was Colin Venn, Donald thought of following the same example and bringing Colin over, but suddenly found that he had no impression of this student at all and had no idea where he was. In the end, it was Jennifer who volunteered to bring Colin.
He was following the dean to find someone, but halfway there, he found that Miss Tessa was following him.
"Roy, where is Colin?" Jennifer, who was helped by Donald, hurriedly asked.
"Colin? Oh, he is obsessed with watching the fountain on the lawn recently..."
"We just came from the fountain." Jennifer interrupted.
"Then... today is a day off, so I might have gone outside the school..."
Roy, whose IQ always soared when he saw a beautiful woman, now acted like a fool and only nodded.
"This belongs to my family. My parents usually take care of it, but every day off, they go to the mountains east of Thunder City to cut wood and burn charcoal, so I have to guard the stall."
"Take good care of this fountain."
"teacher."
"Of course, thank you."
"This is a sad story." Colin spread his hands and said with a smile: "Are you sure you want to hear my painful childhood experience here again?"
…
Anne Heckert turned around, looked at him in surprise, and then laughed: "You can really find this place."
Because of my short stature, I can only look at my toes, but even so, it seems to be a little bit worse.
Ever since he received the reward from Prince and asked Roy to help convert the 100 pieces of gray bird paper into money, his pockets instantly bulged.
7 jinlang.
Anne said helplessly: "The forest outside the west city belongs to the Marquis Andes' family and cannot be cut down. The forest to the east of the city belongs to the royal family, and logging permission is released every autumn and winter."
"But this is a slum area. How can a rich person like you be familiar with it?" Annie wondered.
Anne was stunned for a moment, then laughed and said: "Who knows how to burn charcoal in the summer? Prepare more supplies before the end of winter. After the early spring period, the business for this year is over."
A rather familiar petite figure was busy in the shed, struggling to build a pile of charcoal as high as a person higher.
Colin stepped forward, took the charcoal from her hand, and with his height advantage, easily placed it on the top of the charcoal pile.
"Does the quilt count?" The big head almost subconsciously pointed to Colin's bed.
Prince Prince and Lao Qiao have been standing nearby, neither daring to take the initiative to talk to each other, nor daring to leave.
"What about spring and summer?" Colin asked again.
Donald almost spewed blood on the spot. It was completely beyond his imagination that things had come to this point. When he didn't know what to do, he saw Miss Tessa, who had been following silently, come out.
Tessa returned to the lawn and handed the stack of manuscripts to Roman Sagan, who was standing by the fountain meditating.
Roman pointed at the magic fountain, but looked into the distance and said meaningfully:
"This is the beginning of an era."
"How come you thought of opening a charcoal shop?" Colin took the initiative to change the subject.
There was a large pile of black charcoal placed inside the shed, which looked like a small shop selling charcoal.
"So, when the weather gets warmer, this shop will switch to selling ice water." Annie explained again.
The colorful bird flapped its wings and flew out the window without saying a word.
Colin slapped his head and laughed and cursed himself for being stupid.
To be honest, when my father died and he sold his ancestral home to pay off his debts, he didn't have that much money left in the end.
"You are indeed right, the darkest store in the old city is owned by you."
Tessa smiled slightly, turned around and walked to the other bed, lifted up a corner of the quilt, and then stretched out her other hand.
He walked through the crowded streets, wandering around amidst the sounds of hawking that was very characteristic of the local area, and finally came to a shack built with rags and tree forks.
"Can you please give me one of Colin Wayne's personal belongings, preferably something for personal use?" Tessa continued to ask.
"Ah, I'm sorry." Annie was a little at a loss.
Tessa put the magpie next to the quilt, let it smell it, and then raised her hand.
"No wonder." Colin then wondered: "Why do you want to go to the east to log trees? Are there no woods outside the west city?"
For half an hour, until Donald was about to muster up the courage to come forward and ask, Roman suddenly raised his head and proactively said to the fat dean with a smile:
"Donald Gall?"
Tessa was about to leave when her eyes suddenly stared at the stack of papers on the bed that was originally covered by the mattress. She reached out and took it out without any scruples. It was the same manuscript as before. She flipped through two pages at will, and then turned around.
Leave the room.
"Yes, Sir Storm Guide." Donald bowed at a forty-five degree angle, a rare seriousness on his usually cheerful face.
"No, I remember you are a sponsored student." Annie's stubborn problem relapsed.
Almost instantly, a colorful magpie flew in from the window and landed on the side of her index finger.
"Is your name Roy?" Tessa asked with a smile.
Roman opened the manuscript, took one look at it, and could no longer look away.
"Uh-huh."
…
"Colin?"
Colin hummed lamely a ditty he had just learned in this world, and walked briskly on the streets of West City.
"I'm familiar with this part of the Old City. Roy might have gotten lost." Colin laughed.
Donald recognized this as the magpie messenger who had sent him a letter before.
Roy was so frightened by this fight that he almost cried, thinking to himself, Colin, how much trouble you have caused.
Of course, some people use charcoal in spring and summer, but this is a slum area in Xicheng, and poor people can only save money in winter. Setting up a charcoal shop here in summer will probably be regarded as crazy.
"As you said, how can a rich person be familiar with the old city? So not only am I not a rich person, I may be poorer than you. At least you still open a black shop, right?" Colin joked.
"Awesome! One is cold and the other is hot, there are two heavens of ice and fire." Colin blurted out.
"Fire and Ice? This word is interesting. Can I write it on the cover?" Anne tilted her head, looking forward to it.
"Of course." Colin agreed with a smile.
Although Anne came from a humble background, her character was not as reserved and silent as many children from poor families. Instead, she was extremely lively and active.
