Chapter 44 Portrait

The so-called "picture machine" is a machine that can use light magic to accurately "depict" the appearance of an object.

The function is infinitely close to that of the "camera" of the previous life.

However, in Sir Mora's vision, the prototype of this "photograph machine" could only describe the outline of an object, which was somewhat similar to the function of a black-and-white photo or sketch.

Because even Sir Mora, whose imagination is close to the limit of this world, cannot solve the almost delusional technical problem of "color inkjet printing".

However, for Colin, who has already had his first glimpse of space magic, this is not the most important issue.

This is the special nature of the magical world. Magicians can create things that are very similar to the earthly world without understanding the various physical principles of previous lives.

For example, once a "photograph machine" is actually built.

The theories used by Sir Mora and Colin Vane are completely different from the optical principles of "cameras" on Earth.

Colin doesn't even know whether the microscopic level and basic physical rules of this world are the same as those of the earth, whether there are molecules and atoms, whether there are four fundamental forces, whether the theory of relativity can be applied...

But at least for now, these are not important.

"Um."

"They are all avoiding me." Tessa said with disappointment.

"I heard from Your Majesty that Teacher You hasn't been to the palace much recently?" the Duke asked casually.

For drafting, wooden boards and charcoal strips are the most cost-effective tools, but if you want to keep records, it is best to use paper.

Colin walked up to Duke Violet with an almost pilgrim mentality. The first thing that caught his eye was the picture placed in the projection area.

The soul of any magical machine is magic patterns, but the magic patterns on this machine are not complicated.

Duke Violet did not continue on this topic and instead asked: "The Duke of Fran seems to have stopped recently?"

Tessa's face sank slightly, and then she smiled: "They lost three high-level magicians and five high-level knights last year. I don't even know when the teacher took action."

The painting shows a woman wearing a white dress. It can be seen that the artist's skills are very high, and the woman's beauty and elegance are fully displayed.

The Duke walked to a huge wooden table near the north wall, stretched out his hand and uncovered a piece of silk covering it.

"Maybe you think you can't be of much help?" Duke Violet said directly.

Soon after, the three came to an empty room on the second floor.

The burly body carried Colin and Tessa all the way through the corridor and up the stairs at the corner.

But apparently nothing will happen.

He turned around and returned his gaze to Colin with Tessa.

"It's just wishful thinking." Tessa said slightly disdainfully.

Colin naturally fell into thinking and calculation.

"This is……"

He nodded, then leaned down and began to carefully observe the first circular magic pattern.

"You have to be careful yourself, just in case." The Duke said solemnly: "We are not afraid of anyone on the battlefield, but many heroes have suffered losses due to such small actions in private."

"It doesn't matter."

Colin's thoughts flashed through his mind and he immediately turned his attention to the 'convergence spectrometer'.

"Uncle Fairmont, can't you be more tactful?"

"Uncle Fairmont, I'm so sorry, Colin has always been extremely obsessed with magic research."

There are only three in total.

Just a simple front and back boot mode.

Duke Violet was about to continue saying something when he suddenly heard a sharp friction sound behind him.

In this world composed of four basic elements, magic theory follows a unique and logically strict set of operating rules.

On the white wall to the north, a light and shadow pattern with a slight three-dimensional effect instantly appeared.

"You have your own advantages. Let the smart people do the hard work."

"Your Majesty the Duke, can you lend me boards and charcoal strips?" Colin asked bluntly.

"Maybe."

"This is the 'polymerization beam splitter' you mentioned." The Duke nodded slightly.

It was a lady wearing a lace hat, a white dress inlaid with black silk thread, and a ribbon waist. She was leaning slightly, holding a small parasol with one hand, smiling and looking in the direction of the Duke.

Come.

Colin pressed his thumb up, trying to activate the magic pattern.

"I understand." Tessa lowered her head to accept the lesson.

"Ever since junior brother started, the teacher has been concerned about his meditation process every day, and they often need to discuss various magic research." Tessa answered.

Colin saw that the Duke seemed interested in this, so he continued to introduce:

"This 'polymerization spectrometer' itself is not very useful, but the technology it uses can support the research of the 'photography machine'."

"They are really persistent." Duke Violet sighed.

"I bought it from an antique smuggler."

I saw Colin Venn withdrawing his hand that activated the magic pattern, and then a flame ignited between his fingers, lighting the three candles behind the "Polymerization Spectrometer".

At this point, he seemed to feel a little out of control, and immediately returned to his serious face: "Do you want to take a look?"

And there is no serial or iterative relationship.

"But I heard that people in the Western Continent don't seem to believe in the 'photograph', thinking that it is just a pure fantasy." Duke Violet, who claimed not to know much about magic, seemed to be very interested in this point.

The Duke turned around the wooden table, walked to the 'polymerization spectrometer', gently touched the exquisite picture framed in glass with his hand, and said slowly: "I used to like it very much, but it's a pity that

…”

Its appearance is like a huge square birdcage, with one side open and three sides surrounded by blackout cloth. The chassis is narrow and slender, and there is a set of candles as a light source behind it.

Duke Violet nodded thoughtfully and suddenly said: "Follow me."

"Yes." Tessa did not refuse.

"Of course, thank you, Lord Duke."

"In the wooden box under the table, there is a complete set of tools, all left by the magician who came to repair it in the past."

So, the Duke originally used this machine to project this painting?

I don't know who this lady is.

"Don't you even know what they are studying?"

"Thanks."

Duke Violet waved his hand: "It is very rare for young people to be able to calm down and work. Anyway, you are not in a hurry to go back. If it gets too late, just stay here for the night. I still have two guest rooms here."

Colin was so excited that he stuttered: "But...but it is rumored that it...wasn't it stolen?"

Colin took a closer look and was stunned.

"When I first bought it, it was still usable. Unfortunately, because it was so old, it suddenly became damaged less than a year later. I went to many magicians to look at it, but they all said it couldn't be repaired, and even

I can't even understand the magic patterns inside, and there's no way to start with it. Even Master Luo Man said he was powerless after seeing it."

"Teacher?" Colin was stunned.

Half a moment.

In an instant, a beam of light hit the horizontally placed portrait.

To put it bluntly, magic is science here.

The Duke showed a rare smile, like a collector who had just picked up something, and said:

Tessa looked at her junior brother as if there was no one around. She couldn't laugh or cry for a moment, and she stepped forward.

"Click."

Colin said with a regretful tone: "After all, Sir Mora only mentioned this research in letters to his friends, and there was not even a preliminary design plan. There are no clues in the manuscript relics after his death."

Colin was also stunned by the lifelike portrait. When he turned around, he happily wanted to tell the two of them that he had repaired the "polymerization beam splitter".

But he found the Duke standing there like a wood sculpture and a clay sculpture.

He looked at the portrait reflected on the wall.

His eyes were almost obsessed.
