Chapter 52 Escape

With a fierce look on Jack's face, he would kill all the ogres blocking his way with one strike, even if it cost him his life. If they were delayed even a little bit, they would be overwhelmed by the chasing ogres.

However, Juno's leg injury has become more serious. She could persist before, but now every step she takes is in excruciating pain.

She has seriously hindered the progress of the team. Juno, who was lagging behind, lost his footing and fell to the ground.

An ogre tried to take advantage of the opportunity to attack, but Juno nailed it to the ground with a pickaxe.

Jack and JJ wanted to go back for rescue, but Juno suddenly shouted: "Don't come back, go, go quickly, I can't leave..."

There was a cry in Juno's voice, but it was more filled with resentment and unwillingness.

JJ was about to refuse, but Juno interrupted her.

"Let's go, let's go..."

"I'm dragging them, don't let my death be in vain..."

"Beasts, come here..."

Juno roared before her death.

JJ's eyes were moist. Juno chose to sacrifice himself at the last moment of his life to create a chance for them to escape.

However, Jack is not such a person. He is not a person who abandons his companions and escapes alone.

Juno's goal has been achieved, the ogres have surrounded her and will tear her apart in the next second.

"Ah..."

Juno roared and waved the mountaineering pickaxe wildly in his hand, the last act of madness before his death.

"Close your eyes and cover your ears..."

Jack shouted, and at the same time, a small thing rolled near Juno.

Boom~~

The moment the ogre pounced on Juno, the little thing exploded beside her.

It was the only shock bomb on Jack's body.

In a closed space, the effect of shock bombs is maximized.

Although the dazzling white light cannot hurt those monsters, the effect of the shock wave has been strengthened.

High-intensity sound waves will make everyone temporarily deaf, and at the same time interfere with the nervous system, causing nearby targets to temporarily lose their ability to move and resist.

Jack pulled JJ up slowly. Although he had taken precautions in advance, he was still somewhat disturbed. But they were still the only ones capable of moving in the cave at this time.

Juno is in the same condition as those ogres. She can't hear any sounds, her mind is spinning, and she can't maintain her body's balance, but she still has eyesight.

Yes, she heard Jack’s last reminder.

"Let's go..."

Jack rushed to help Juno, who was still under the influence of the shock bomb and subconsciously waved to attack. Jack blocked the mountaineering pickaxe waved by Juno and carried her on his shoulders.

Seeing that the person coming was Jack, Juno finally relaxed, stopped resisting, and let Jack do what he did.

Jack carried Juno and ran out of the ogre encirclement. The nearby ogres lay on the ground, but the ogres in the distance were not so affected. After shaking their heads, they continued to chase. The newly arrived ogres

Ogres are also joining in a steady stream. These monsters are like dog-skin plasters that cannot be shaken off.

……

Somewhere, Sarah was running in an alleyway. There were obvious traces of man-made changes in this alleyway. Sarah knew she was on the right track. This was the abandoned gold mine where she came in.

Suddenly there was a rumbling sound, and sand fell around, and there seemed to be signs of instability.

Sarah didn't dare to stop at all, and quickened her pace again. After taking a few steps, the mountain suddenly shook, huge rocks fell around, and the wooden piles supporting the alley also collapsed.

A wooden stake rubbed Sarah's head, and Sarah fell into a brief coma. When she woke up, she found that she had been buried alive.

The only good thing was that the piles of wooden piles and stones formed an independent space inside. Sarah was not directly crushed to death. On the contrary, she could see outside through the gaps in the piles, which proved that she still had a chance to escape.

Sarah touched a piece of wood from the ground. In the darkness, the sound of digging came from the passage, and the surrounding area was dark.

Sarah dug very hard, and the tools were not easy to use. The flashlight light reflected her face, looming.

After a while, Sarah stopped, and a lot of gravel was cleared out by her. She barely managed to pass through the gaps between the rocks.

Sarah was about to give it a try when she heard hurried footsteps. In the darkness in the distance, someone was running towards her direction.

Jack ran quickly between the passages. At this time, he didn't think too much. He only knew that he could not give up his companions. Even if they died in the end, they would die together.

Suddenly, Jack's mind seemed to detect a different place, where the surroundings and ceiling of the tunnel were supported by wooden piles. It didn't look like a natural cave, but more like it was dug manually.

Thinking of the natural mine where they came in, Jack was overjoyed, "This way..."

The laneways look old and dilapidated, and some places have even collapsed.

Ahead was a collapsed ruin. When I ran closer, I saw light, which proved that there was someone in the ruins!

Through the light, Jack saw Sarah's blood-stained face.

Enemies are extremely jealous when they meet.

Jack never waits until the next day for a chance to take revenge on the spot.

But there were countless ogres chasing behind him, so Jack didn't dare waste time. He just made up for it when passing by the ruins.

The force of that kick was not great, but it was enough to destroy the already fragile structure of the ruins.

With another 'bang' sound, the tunnel Sarah had just dug disappeared, and she herself was once again knocked unconscious by a falling wooden stake.

This didn't even waste a second. Jack carried Juno and continued to run wildly in the alleyway. JJ was beside him, and a few meters behind them was the newly caught ogre.

The scene in the alleyway changes, JJ and Juno also see the artificial traces here, and the hope of life is right in front of them.

A bright light appeared in front of them. It was the long-lost sun. Everyone was about to leave this terrible cave. They no longer had any reservations and ran with all their strength towards the light.

The exit was getting closer and closer, and Jack even saw the sky outside, but the ogre behind him was also getting closer.

Then the surrounding scenery changed, and the two finally came out of the crypt. He saw the surrounding grass and some military green camouflage.

"Get down..."

With a loud roar, Jack subconsciously followed the instructions and lay down with Juno on his shoulders, not forgetting to push down JJ next to him at the same time.

The next second, the gunfire sounded, and Jack could feel the chaotic airflow above his head.

After a while, the gunfire stopped, and someone came over to help Jack. It was Sanders. Jack turned around. At the entrance of the cave behind him, there were stumps and broken arms, and there were American soldiers with guns standing all around.

Ten minutes later, Jack met Silver and Spike who had heard the news. They separated from Jack and walked along another road, trekking underground, but unexpectedly they returned to the surface from another hole.

Didn't encounter any ogres.

"Who are these people?"

Jack pointed at the soldiers around him.

"I don't know either. They took over this place as soon as they arrived. Director Womack asked us to do everything they said."

Sanders shrugged, but the content of his words cast a veil of mystery over these soldiers.

The soldiers were working in an orderly manner under the command of an officer. The body of the ogre at the entrance of the cave was put on a vehicle, and some other soldiers began to seal the entrance of the cave.

All three of them have been bandaged. Juno was seriously injured but was not allowed to leave.

After an officer finished all this, he turned and walked towards Jack and others.

"I'm sorry to inform you that you can't leave for the time being."

"Who are you?"

Someone couldn't help but ask.

The officer glanced at everyone, and then a word came out of his mouth.

"Area 51."

……

In the cave, Sarah slowly woke up, surrounded by darkness.

She recalled the scene before she fell into coma. Jack's kick ruined her chance of escape.

Sarah fumbled around and finally touched the flashlight. After shaking it a few times, the flashlight glowed. Sarah could see the surrounding situation clearly. There were huge rocks and wood everywhere, and she seemed to be trapped.

I tried it, but it didn’t move.

Sarah secretly cursed her bad luck, but she heard something in her ears.

The flashlight swept across, and an ugly face appeared in the gap.

It's an ogre!

Sarah was so frightened that she let out an exclamation, and then there seemed to be a chain reaction outside. There were roars outside, and there were countless ogres in the darkness around her.

Sarah was petrified, but the sound of digging sand came from the ground, and then the light of the flashlight flickered unsatisfactorily, and she fell into darkness again.

"No, help me, who can help me out, someone..."

In the darkness, a shrill female voice mixed with crying echoed, but the only response was a roar and the sound of digging. The girl's voice became more and more panicked, and finally turned into a shrill scream.
