Chapter 58 Angers’ Apology
In the sunlit loft, afternoon tea continued.
"You remember what I taught about the Aztec Empire in class, right?"
Angers asked, like a teacher asking a question in class.
Lu Mingfei nodded.
"After the Secret Party helped Spain destroy the Aztec Empire, they also screened the surviving hybrids."
"But some of the hybrids of the Aztec Empire had long anticipated the coming destruction and fled the Americas in advance."
"Later, this part of the mixed race returned to the Americas during the First World War. However, the secret party focused all its energy on the First World War and did not find out."
"Their actions were also extremely covert, and they almost lived like ordinary people. The secret party did not discover their traces until twenty years later, and World War II also broke out."
At this point, Angers shrugged.
"As a result, this organization completely lurked in the Americas. It was not until the emergence of new drugs that the secret party discovered their whereabouts again."
"And hid the truth from us?"
Lu Mingfei asked.
"Not entirely, the school board is just guessing. Because Fernando is apparently from a North American mixed-race family, and they are also in the drug business."
Angers explained.
"I don't accept this explanation."
He said coldly.
"I'm just passing on a message for them. I support you in having your own understanding."
Angers showed a sly smile.
"Then how much do you know?"
Lu Mingfei looked directly at him.
He felt infinite paranoia and hatred from this young man, and it was not a problem to sell his soul just for revenge.
"The school board did not leak the information to me. However, I should indeed take responsibility."
Angers reached out and held the index and middle fingers of his left hand and folded them hard. The two slender fingers immediately bent in opposite directions.
"I told Joseph that you can borrow the Lionheart Club's secret library for the whole day. I hope this can make up for some of my mistakes."
He said while maintaining a smile.
The Lionheart Society was once the youth wing of the Secret Party, a core group composed of the best among the Dragon Slayers.
After the founding of Kassel College, Lionheart became a student club, but it still inherited many of the legacy of the old Lionheart.
Their secret library contains many top-secret documents that even the school board of directors has not kept.
"That's the end of the matter. But you'd better understand that we just have a common goal in slaying dragons, that's all."
Lu Mingfei stood up and left.
When the bronze bell rang again, Angers looked at the closed door and whispered to himself.
"That's enough."
"You're pampering him too much."
The vice-principal dressed as a cowboy appeared behind Angers, then took out a piece of dirty cloth and wrapped it around his finger.
"Foolish people will suppress geniuses, smart people will only give them more tolerance."
Ange stretched out his fingers and felt the alchemy circle slowly healing his injuries.
"Can you please stop covering the table with a shroud next time?"
He sighed and said.
The cloth was full of wine stains and residue from unknown sources.
"My place is not the principal's office. You can get whatever you want."
The vice principal curled his lips.
You are the best alchemist of our time. Even if you wanted a tablecloth made of pure gold, the school board would still buy it for you with its eyes closed.
Angers reluctantly skipped the topic.
"Are there any research results on the corpses brought back?"
he asked.
"So-so. A trace amount of dragon blood was extracted from the blood, and the bloodline level is not lower than that of the next generation."
The vice principal said.
"Will it be the Dragon King?"
"Not necessarily, the content is too low. More samples are needed to be sure."
The vice principal shook his head.
"After Lu Mingfei made such a fuss, they should have hid deeper in the cave."
Angers said with a mocking tone.
“Isn’t the school board going to catch them?”
the vice principal asked.
"Washington needs them."
Angers shook his head.
"Haven't the secret party's political donations to them been enough?"
The vice principal said.
"But their money is easier to get and they require almost nothing in return."
Angers said.
"Dirty politics."
The vice principal curled his lips.
"Isn't this the biggest thing that humans and dragons have in common?"
Ange smiled coldly.
Compromise, betrayal, cooperation, deception, everything is for profit, and profit is everything.
"Don't you care about that high-level hybrid? He can fight your genius back and forth."
The vice principal asked again.
"Let's leave it alone for now. The college's main energy must be spent on China."
Angers shook his head.
"Is there any news?"
The vice principal frowned.
"The water temperature in the Yangtze River this year is higher than in the past five years."
Angkor nodded.
"The only one who can cause this situation is that one. It's not easy to deal with."
The vice-principal picked his neck.
"So Lu Ming must grow up as soon as possible."
Angers said.
"What's the whetstone you have for him? The school board?"
the vice principal asked.
"The school board is still too hard a rock. I have prepared a better one for it."
Angers smiled.
Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang came to the headquarters of Lion Heart Club, Amber Pavilion.
Compared to the Norton Pavilion, which looks like a castle, the Amber Pavilion looks closer to a villa.
However, the little lions of the Lion Heart Club did not use any fancy decorations, only some gold and red ribbons.
Joseph Onovich and Craig, the vice-president of the Lionheart Club, came out to greet him. The latter was a tall, thin man with red hair.
To be continued...
