Chapter 4: The Beast's Offensive

Christina is an iconic figure of the Church Knights. Female knights are already scarce, not to mention she is beautiful and a high elf.

Since she met Leon, she has made almost no progress in other aspects except martial arts. Her trust in the brave has reached the level of dependence. Occasionally, Leon will advise the elf: "Keep quiet, you will look very beautiful like this." And the latter actually complied.

Yes, the relationship between men and women really makes no sense.

This harmed her. Facing the greenskin's tidal offensive, Christina was stuck on the wooden wall, her role was not much more than that of a soldier. The camp commander issued a series of orders at the top of his voice, which was in sharp contrast to her.

Everything that happened today went according to plan. First, the patrolling cavalry who went out in the morning did not come back until the scorching sun. The commander was wondering if these soldiers were lingering at some peasant woman's house again, and the regular merchants were carried by horses and appeared in front of the camp.

The guarding soldier helped him off his horse, and the military chaplain hurried over and could only watch him take his last breath. As for the businessman's two bodyguards and carriage, they were nowhere to be seen.

The camp consisting of a circle of wooden walls and dozens of wooden houses was not large. Christina followed the messenger and arrived, and the commander had just arrived. The officer turned the body over. There was a long wound on the businessman's back, starting from his left shoulder.

It extended to the waist and almost split him in half. This amazing strength and brutal attack style reminded the Paladin of the black-armored orc she encountered two years ago.

"Sir, we are in trouble." The officer frowned. The soldiers on the side dragged the body away and prepared to bury it.

"Well...Mr. Walker." Christina took some time to remember the name of the man in front of her.

The bad habits of elf women originated from their mother. When she was combing the hair of the young elf girl, she would often murmur that human life is too short and there is no need to bother remembering everyone's name. Her mother had very few human friends. Her funeral

Up, Christina hugs

She stood next to the doll that the neighbor had given her, her eyes dull. The men worked together to put her mother's coffin into the pit. She refused to accept the Earth Mother's faith until her death. As a result, there was no priest to read the eulogy, and she was stationed in the cemetery.

The crow crowed a few times in response to the occasion...

'Where is your god? Mom...' The elf came back to her senses and found that everyone was looking at her, including Walker. The elf said in embarrassment: "Your camp, your rules." She spent too much time with Leon.

It took a long time for her to get used to being directed instead of giving orders.

"Okay, please call your people. We need all the help we can get." Walker was not polite. His camp was small, with only two hundred people at full capacity.

Christina could easily find the fat mage who was chewing chicken legs, and the imperial guard who was trying his best to ignore the mage's eating signs on the opposite side. She remembered that the two were named Sam and Jack. As for their last names, the elf felt that it was better not to force herself too much. Knowing the situation, Jack

Grinning, he walked back to the tent and put on his armor piece by piece. Sam was stunned on the spot, the grease from the food dripping from the corners of his mouth onto the white robe.

"Look, girl, it's still intact, let's try it on." Flint held her breastplate in his hand. The elf saw that the dwarf's eyes were bloodshot, but unfortunately he didn't have time to rest. The dwarf helped her put it on and tightened the belt on the armor.

, she took a deep breath. 'Am I gaining weight?'

The paladin and his companions came to the front door to join Walker's small army. The elves in full body armor attracted the attention of the soldiers. She raised her visor and saw an acquaintance in the queue. The man looked as melancholy as ever, or in other words, his

The face was born like this. The veteran saw her and raised his hand to touch his chest. The paladin smiled back.

Walker nodded to her and was about to give orders to the flag bearer when a group of goblins ran out from the edge of the forest a few hundred steps away from the camp. They saw the army ready to go and did not panic. The sharp-eyed elves captured the twisted smile on the ugly face of the goblin.

, and after a while, groups of greenskins came out of the woods.

Walker commanded the infantry to line up in two long columns, and the archers stood behind the infantry. He dismounted and took the shield from the messenger. The commander came to the paladin and asked her to lead the cavalry. The two briefly exchanged a few words.

, returned to their respective groups. Flint and the Wizard joined the infantry. Jack followed the elf on his chestnut mare.

Without an advantage in strength, Walker chose to form an array with his back to the barracks. As soon as Christina led the cavalry to the left wing of the formation, the greenskins launched a charge. Although it was chaotic and disorderly, the infantry still looked very impressive due to their numerical advantage.

Blocking the shield in front of him, he clenched his weapon. Someone, whether because of timidity or unsteadiness, took a step back and bumped into the dwarf. Flint grinned at the pale soldier and pushed him back into the queue.

.

The greenskins rushed closer and closer, and the archers fired the first arrow. There were too many enemies to aim at. The archers set up the second arrow, and this time it was a flat shot. The arrow passed over the helmets in the front row, slightly reducing the number of opponents.

Greenskins are born to bully the weak and fear the strong. They always gather in groups to embolden their courage. Most of them rush towards the infantry. But there are still some particularly brave goblins, led by the orcs, who pounce on the cavalry on the left. Christina can

Not wanting her only mobility to be entangled, she called the Fat Mage.

"Mr. Willy, can you stop these greenskins?" The elf rarely remembered the mage's last name, and she pointed at the orcs not far away.

"...Yes, sir, I should be able to." The mage was still not straightforward enough, but after experiencing the battle in the cave, Sam at least stopped shaking. His soft, fat hands took out a piece of sulfur from the inner pocket and muttered something.

, raise your right hand levelly and point to the target.

A fireball exploded in the greenskin pile, and the high-heat flames instantly engulfed the orcs in the center, blowing up the rest of the goblins. Even wearing a helmet, Christina could feel the heat wave hitting her face.

"Well done, Sam." The elf pulled down his visor and raised his hand: "Cavalry, follow me!" The Paladin took the lead, and the remaining soldiers quickly followed up. The few greenskins who were lucky enough not to die from magic were killed.

The horse's hooves trampled her flesh and blood.

Sam Wiley picked up the staff that was blown down by the shock wave and ran into a relatively safe place in the team.

Iron and warhammer are the common tactics of the imperial army. Now, "iron" is under tremendous pressure. The infantry in the front row stacked their shields on each other to withstand the frenzied impact of the greenskins, but there were too many goblins and orcs.

, the soldiers used their hands and shoulders to barely keep the shield wall from being washed away. The soldiers in the back row also didn't.

Idlely, the spear crossed the gap between the shields and hit many tall orcs. Blood flowed down the shield wall, most of which were green-skinned. Some soldiers holding shields unfortunately slipped and fell in a pool of blood.

Even though he was dragged away by the goblin, he didn't even scream. The people in the back row stood up with dark faces. It was a life and death situation and no orders were needed.

The dwarves were limited in height and had no long weapons, so they could only stand behind and worry. However, Flint quickly got an opportunity, and a group of smarter greenskins came around from the side of the shield wall.

One goblin raised a crude wooden shield. Flint knocked it down along with the shield, and knocked over two others with his shoulder. Archers who could not shoot also joined the battle group. But even so, the number of greenskins was still small.

Far more than human beings, the entire front line was gradually compressed into a horseshoe shape with its back to the camp gate.

Christina's cavalry dispersed the few defenders and completed a detour. The cavalry carried their spears and plunged into the greenskins who were caught off guard.

The greenskins fled everywhere, and the cavalry slashed wildly, with every blow bearing fruit. Christina had no intention of participating in this cruel chase. She returned to the gate of the military camp and saw the veterans rummaging through the greenskin corpses.

She shook her head, 'This person is really greedy for money.'

With a smile on his face, Walker held the knight's little hand. The elf patiently listened to the commander's praise. Just as she was about to take out her right hand that was so painful, a blood-curdling roar caused both her and Walker to stop.

Nailed in place.

A greenskin wrapped in black armor from head to toe walked out of the forest. It was the largest orc Christina had ever seen. Behind the black-armored orcs, more greenskins appeared. Different from the defeated group of rabble, this one

How many times did the green-skinned army

Almost all were composed of orcs. The fleeing goblins also stopped, and the cavalry hurriedly retreated. The black-armored orcs took a spear and stretched their strong arms back to the limit. The elves held their breath. 'Run quickly.

Run, you fools!'

The spear was thrown, passed over those who were lagging behind, and hit one who was running in front. The tip of the spear emerged from his breastplate, and the elf watched helplessly as the victim fell off his horse. The others were frightened and their faces turned pale. Fortunately, the cavalry

They didn't chase him very far and quickly returned to the camp.

"Sir, you lead the cavalry to break out." Walker's face was solemn. The soldiers ran past him, some helped the injured, and more just wanted to hide behind the wall as soon as possible. The middle-aged officer hesitated to speak:

"This offensive can only be carried out by us alone..."

"Mr. Walker, just pick two good people to ask for help. There are too many people leaving, so it will be difficult to escape." Christina stared into Walker's eyes and said word by word: "I'm staying."

'I know the Paladin's stifling sense of honor, but it's a pity that you're just going to die here.' Walker looked at Christina's face as delicate as a marble statue, and felt inexplicably sad. But everyone is mortal, even high elves.

.

"This is an honor for me and my subordinates." His tone was full of respect.

Before the greenskins completed the encirclement, the veteran and Jack rushed out with a letter for help signed by Christina. The greenskins did not intend to let anyone go. Although they did not use horses as mounts like humans, goblins knew how to raise them.

Wolf. Following the instructions of the master, more than ten wild wolves were released. The archers on the wooden wall tried their best, but still missed a few, and the ferocious beasts pursued them.

Jack turned around and struck a wolf that was about to bite the horse's leg. Before he could put away his sword, another one had jumped up and pounced on him. Jack raised his left hand in desperation, even though it was separated by the arm guard and the chainmail underneath.

The imperial army still felt the terrifying bite force. The wolf came back and forth

He shook his head and tried to pull him off the horse. The veteran gritted his teeth and stabbed him with a dagger. The black-skinned beast finally let go and rolled to the ground, letting out a mournful cry of "Woo-Woo". The surviving wild wolf

Surrounding the dying companions, they are really hungry.

"Thank you, Mr. Green." Jack was shocked and turned his arm to check the injury. The wolf's fangs failed to bite through his fine guard armor.

The veteran, who was called Green, hummed. He looked back and saw that the camp was surrounded by water, like a lonely boat in the green ocean. Green and Jack looked at each other speechlessly, and they could only speed up their horses.

Christina stood on the camp wall and looked far into the distance. She was relieved to see the two of them finally entering the forest safely. The elf knew that this battle was dangerous, but the paladin would never run away. Those who could hold weapons were mobilized.

Including the handymen in the kitchen and the apprentices in the blacksmith shop. The nuns and priests who have no fighting ability are also under the wooden wall, ready to rescue the wounded at any time.

Flint came to the knight and took her hand. Christina looked down at the dwarf and smiled tenderly. Her smile was so beautiful that it broke the dwarf's heart. "God knows how Leon could miss such a miracle in the world."

Outside the camp, the noisy greenskin formation was completed. The black-armored orc rudely pushed away the compatriots who stood in front of it, and even stepped on a few unfortunate goblins. The green-skinned beast walked to the front and raised a long knife.

, roaring sentences incomprehensible to humans. It waved the ugly weapon towards Christina, and the greenskins responded to their leader.

The attack begins.
