Chapter 95 The Tenth Giant(1/6)

After a period of silence, Morris scratched his chin and looked at Thales with a strange look.

"So, you came all the way here just to give me a political lesson?"

"You want the answer," Thales put down his fist and responded confidently, "and I'm giving it to you."

Morris looked at the surrounding furnishings, thought for a moment and then looked up again:

"If so, then the answer is too far away from us and is unrealistic."

Thales smiled.

On the other side of the drug store, Jenny and Grover were whispering tremblingly, while Grover tried to calm down Cohen who was about to rush forward and take down Layok.

But just like there was an invisible wall in the center, everyone abided by the tacit understanding and did not dare to cross it and invade the conversation between the Prince of Stars and the giant of the Brotherhood.

"Yes, 'Politics is too far away from me' and 'Politics is too unrealistic for me'. These are the most common misunderstandings in our lives."

Thales' eyes changed:

“Whether it’s a mysophobic gentleman who thinks it’s too far away, so he’s dismissive of it, and thinks he’s aloof, and avoids public politics like a deadly plague; or he’s a scholar who thinks it’s too far away, so he’s cynical, a scholar who knows nothing about scriptures, and firmly believes that everything exists in knowledge; or he thinks it’s too far away, so he’s

A cynic who is broken and indifferent, thinking that daily necessities are just a way to return to life; or a keyboard warrior who feels that it is too far away and has no scruples, talking too much and pointing out the general trend of the world with his words."

"You still look like a bastard who just hangs around and lives his life in a drunken dream."

Morris curled one side of his lips, revealing his clenched teeth.

But Taylor ignored him:

“Intentionally or unintentionally, consciously or unconsciously, they are expressing the attitude that ‘politics is too far away’.”

"But with all due respect, they either have a misunderstanding of 'politics' or a misunderstanding of 'far'."

Morris said nothing.

"Look now, I'm standing right in front of you." At this point, Thales' voice suddenly became cold:

"And you think that during the rise of the Brotherhood, the relevant departments have really been indifferent to you and let you go?"

Morris narrowed his eyes:

"Relevant departments?"

"Ha, you are talking about the most mysterious 'relevant departments' that always disappear when they are benefiting the people, but only fulfill their duties when they are patriotic and serving the country?"

Morris snorted, with a look of disdain and a sarcastic tone:

"We have our own ways to deal with them - they are like shit. Every time they finish squatting in the pit, when I have to stand up and wipe my butt, I can see them in the shit pit taking advantage of the heat, baring their teeth and claws, and the smell is overwhelming."

But Thales shook his head and ignored his emotions:

"Then why did you order the retreat just now? Why didn't you listen to the man named Ostrow and follow the original plan to gather people to kill the Blood Bottle Gang to collect debts? It doesn't matter who the culprit of the kidnapping case is. The Brotherhood only needs to kill people to establish its prestige.

Already."

Morris rolled his eyes and said nothing.

Thales turned around and walked to the next row of shelves, picking up a medicine bottle to play with from time to time.

"Politics is not far away from you, Boss Morris, even if you are a person like you who regards the kingdom as nothing and tramples on the boundaries of the law wantonly-the high iron wall not only traps those who are willing to be in the cage, but also restricts those who are willing to stay in the cage.

Recognize the people outside the prison."

"It is an invisible and formless net that blocks every inch of color in sight and blocks every gap in the air. We are all caught up in it with every move, word, and breath, and cannot escape."

Thales looked at the medicine bottle in his hand, feeling its hard wall, silently lost in thought.

Morris was silent for several seconds, and then he hummed.

"Maybe I should let Lancer come and listen," the fat brother of the brotherhood said with narrowed eyes:

"He knows this best."

But Thales sneered.

"You too, Maurice."

The prince raised his head and looked at Morris:

"After all, you are the one who settles accounts and manages money."

At that moment, Morris's eyes flashed with a sharp look.

But within a few seconds, the brotherhood leader chuckled and waved his hand nonchalantly:

"Come on, there are none of these things you are talking about. We rough men on the streets neither understand nor are interested -"

But Thales suddenly raised his voice and interrupted him:

"If you really aren't interested, Maurice!"

"Then back then you—you, Black Sword, and the mercenary group called the 'Nine Giants' at that time—wouldn't have come all the way to the royal capital."

His voice gradually became softer and his speaking speed gradually slowed down, but the power contained in it made Morris frown.

"And if you're not interested..."

Thales took a step forward.

"You will not accept Prince Horace's employment."

At that moment, Morris' eyes suddenly changed!

"Not to mention that after he was defeated and died, he would still take root in Yongxing City and lurk and make progress," Thales gently turned the medicine bottle in his hand and said slowly:

"There is a purpose."

Silence enveloped the two people talking.

Until Morris recovered from the shock, adjusted his cheeks, and exhaled:

"Who did you just say?"

Having achieved his goal, Thales smiled indifferently, turned around and put down the medicine bottle.

"Miss Yanni!"

The prince suddenly spoke loudly, breaking the boundary between the two conversations, causing the rest of the people in the drug store to look at him sideways:

"Have you decided yet?"

Yanni trembled hard when her name was called.

She raised her head at a loss and looked mechanically in the direction of Thales:

"Wha, what?"

The boss, Grove, looked sad, looked at his wife anxiously, and then looked at Maurice nervously.

Thales was not anxious or annoyed, and smiled gently:

"a chance."

"I said, I want to give you a chance to find a new way out and get a new life."

Thales glanced at Grove next to her, and the coldness in her eyes almost made the latter's legs weak:

"At least it's better than now."

Yanni stood there blankly, wiping her hands on her apron unconsciously.

Cohen frowned and wanted to speak, but after going back and forth, it became clear that Glover had mastered the trick to hold him back.

Leyock cast a questioning look at Maurice, but the fat man himself was just deep in thought and did not react.

Only Grove showed a painful and pleading expression, shaking his wife's arm.

Yanni was in a daze for a long time. She turned back blankly and her eyes swept over the pharmacy where she had worked for more than ten years, and then over to Grove, who was once the boss and is now her husband.

Then, she slowly turned her head and looked at the delicate and gentle noble boy.

Thales didn't urge him, he just waited quietly.

Finally, not long after, Yanni took a deep breath and slowly but decisively pulled her arm out of her husband's fingers.

She wiped her hands, took two steps forward, and stood in front of Thales.

Thales smiled.

Grove was immediately hit, his body swayed, and his face turned pale.

Morris frowned fiercely in confusion, Cohen's eyes widened in disbelief, Glover remained motionless and expressionless, and Leyock remained leaning against the wall, watching with cold eyes.

I saw Yanni clearing her throat and speaking seriously:

"This... young master, I am very, very grateful for your favor."

"But I thought it through."

Thales raised his eyebrows.

Yanni said firmly:

"No."
