The two workers walking in front were carrying a huge bookshelf, which seemed to be mahogany and expensive. Matthew followed them into the door. There was a hall on the first floor with many benches. In the center of the hall was a front desk surrounded by design. The line of bold characters on it was particularly eye-catching - Angel Performing Arts Agency!
There was no one there at the front desk, and there was a smell of newly decorated in the hall.
Seeing that no one was received, Matthew thought for a while, followed the group of workers and walked up the stairs leading to the second floor.
The bookshelf was very heavy. As soon as the two workers climbed the stairs, the one behind was bent and walked a few steps up. Matthew found that the worker behind suddenly slipped his hands, and the bookshelf suddenly fell down and smashed it up the stairs, which was very likely to hit people's legs and feet.
Matthew was originally a small person who did rough work and had a natural sympathy for this class. He hurriedly stepped forward and grabbed the bookshelf from the other side of the worker.
He was very strong and his bookshelf was immediately stabilized. The worker next to him felt a lighter in his hand, turned his head and hurriedly thanked, "Thank you."
"Don't be polite." Matthew nodded slightly to him, "Let's go."
Since he stretched out his hand, he had no intention of taking it back. He helped the two workers carry the bookshelf and went up to the second floor together.
"Be careful here."
At the staircase on the second floor, a woman in her twenties stood, directing workers to move things into an office, "Please take it lightly and don't break the floor!"
The floor is brand new and bright, obviously new.
Matthew assisted the two workers and moved the bookshelf into the office and placed it behind a huge mahogany desk.
"Thanks!"
After putting down the bookshelf, the worker behind immediately smiled and said to Matthew, "If it's not yours, the bookshelf will be knocked."
"Nothing." Matthew realized that the worker was about the same age as him, at most he was in his early twenties, and said casually, "You are too polite."
The two walked outside together, and the young worker said, "Are you an employee of this company?"
Matthew shook his head as he walked, "No."
After leaving the office, he saw the woman at the entrance of the stairs tipping the workers and soon came to him.
The woman handed over a US dollar bill, but Matthew didn't answer and said, "Are you an employee of the Angel Agency? I am an actor and called you yesterday."
"Oh?" the woman looked at Matthew in surprise. The young worker looked over in surprise, and then took the initiative to say, "He just saw that the bookshelf was heavy and helped us a little."
"Are you an actor too?" the woman turned to ask the young worker.
What Matthew didn't expect was that the young worker nodded in a hurry, "Yes, so do I!" He scratched his head and smiled, "I'll deliver goods to you today, and come and have a look."
"You guys wait!" The woman went to send the other workers first.
Matthew looked at it and found that the company seemed to be a woman.
"Hello!" the young worker introduced himself, "Michael Sheen, from Nedahua."
"Hello." Matthew nodded slightly, "Matthew Horner, Texan."
The woman then walked back and greeted Matthew and the young workers named Michael Sheehn, "You two come with me."
Matthew immediately followed her into an office, and Michael Sheehn followed.
The woman turned on the computer and asked Matthew and Michael Sheeon to sit casually, introducing herself, "I am Helen Herman, the owner of the Angel Brokerage."
She asked, "Did you two bring information?"
"Take it." Matthew opened his bag, and Michael Sheeen patted his head, "I forgot my information in the truck, I'll get it now!"
Helen Herman nodded, "Yes."
Michael Sheehn hurriedly ran out.
But Matthew was observing this woman, with Dennis Kurt in front of him, and he was somewhat prepared for the profession of agent.
This woman is about 1.7 meters tall, and her hair is a dark brown common in American women. She is meticulously combed behind her head. Her face is clearly contoured and her facial features are very three-dimensional. Her deep eye sockets are covered with black-edged glasses, and her body is a gray lady suit, which exudes a smart and capable temperament.
In terms of appearance alone, she makes a good impression more easily than Dennis Kurt.
Matthew handed over a stack of information to the other party. Helen Herman began to enter the computer and said while typing on the keyboard, "Congratulations, Matthew Horner, you are the first client of the Angel Brokerage Company."
"First?" Matthew asked in surprise, "This company has just been established?"
Helen Hermann didn't raise his head either, "Yesterday was my first job advertisement."
Matthew couldn't help but feel curious and asked again, "You won't be the only employee in this company, right?"
"There are two people for the time being." Helen Hermann still didn't look up, "But I am the only one who works today."
She asked again, "Do you have a part-time job?"
"Yes, night shift drivers." Matthew said simply, "most of the time, you can sleep and rest without delaying doing other things during the day."
Helen Herman continued, "Want to grow long-term in Hollywood?"
Matthew said without hesitation, "I want to be a big star and make a lot of money."
While speaking, he carefully observed Helen Herman's expression. If there was a person like Dennis Kurt on the opposite side, he would show a sarcastic expression even if he didn't say anything.
The woman didn't change anything. She just looked up at Matthew and said, "It's a good thing to have a goal."
She stopped typing on the keyboard, raised her head and said, "Since you want to be in this industry for a long time, for a long time, or even for several years, your actor salary will not support you. You need a part-time job! Your part-time job sounds pretty good."
Matthew nodded, which was the main reason for continuing to stay at Red Penguin Company.
It’s not that he can’t find other jobs with higher incomes, but his time is definitely not as free as the driver of the Red Penguin. He is not as good as working as a temporary job in a low-end restaurant like McDonald’s and KFC.
"Are you a member of the union?" Helen Herman asked.
"No." Matthew shook his head, "Didn't join."
"Why?"
Matthew said very directly, "No money! I can't afford the membership fee of 3,000 US dollars, and I'm worried that if the minimum hourly salary is high, it will reduce competitiveness."
Helen Hermann continued to enter the information. When he saw the line marked by Matthew, he couldn't help but ask, "You have lines in your first character?"
"Yes." Matthew knew that this might be related to future job opportunities, and was afraid that the other party would not believe it, and said, "The filming just ended yesterday, and many people in the crew knew this."
"Who introduced you to this crew?" Helen Hermann asked the key point.
"Julie." Matthew once again pulled the tiger's skin as a banner, "introduced by Miss Angelina Jolie."
"Oh?" Helen Herman stopped the work, "You are very familiar with Julie?"
Matthew shook his head, "I'm not familiar." He shrugged slightly, "If I'm very familiar, I won't come here."
Helen Hermann still looked at him.
"By chance, I helped Miss Julie a little bit." Matthew explained casually, "She helped me get a character with two lines."
Although he didn't say anything more, Helen Herman made a special note on Matthew's file, and the information entered was considered complete. She said to Matthew, "Keep your phone on for 24 hours and have a job that suits you. I will call you."
This is similar to the other two companies. Matthew didn't expect to receive special treatment. He stood up and said politely to Helen Hermann, left the office and walked towards the stairs.
Just as I walked to the stairs, Michael Sheen happened to trot up.
"It's over?" he asked when he saw Matthew, "I'm leaving?"
Matthew nodded, "I've prepared the case, go back and listen to the phone."
"Have you got a few characters, man?" Michael Sheeon asked again.
"Only one." Matthew sighed, "The competition is too fierce."
"Don't worry, it will get better and better." Michael Sheeon laughed. "I was the same when I first entered the industry, but now I have played more than 20 roles."
Maybe Matthew had helped him just now, and the young porter said, "If you have time, go to a few more agency companies to register, and there are more opportunities."
Matthew thought so too, "Thank you, I will go to a few more tomorrow."
Michael Sheehn was still going to do the filing and left soon. Matthew left the building, went to the newsstand to buy a lot of newspapers, entered a nearby street park, found a bench to sit down, opened the newspaper to find similar job advertisements, counted the phone numbers, and then called one by one, and agreed with the other party to enter the information.
Perhaps they have played a role in a relationship, and these companies basically didn't refuse.
In the following week, in addition to maintaining physical exercise and reading during the day, Matthew almost went around the Los Angeles area, filing more than 20 actor intermediary agencies, and even went to the two major actor unions. However, due to various conditions, he could only be a passerby of the union.
During this period, I also received a call from an agency company and got a job on a horror film crew, lying on the ground and being a corpse.
There is nothing to mention about such a job. Matthew's face was facing the ground, his body was covered with blood-red tomato sauce. The camera was swept away and his salary was only three hours and twenty dollars.
Such good luck in the crew of "The Soul-Evering Girl" is not something that can be encountered often for a small person like him. Matthew can only wait slowly for the opportunity.
Fortunately, he still has a driver job to do, and the salary he earns can support himself.
