Chapter Thirty-Five

In November, the severe winter falls into the endless mountains. The heavy snow falls for more than ten days. However, this does not affect most of the military operations of both the offensive and defensive sides inside and outside the Karak Fortress. The vampires have excellent system and are protected by magic. The undead are not afraid of the cold and heat. The dwarves in the Karak-Karak Mountain are protected by the mountain walls, and they also cannot feel the cold. Therefore, despite the heavy snow and the mountains are covered in silver, the war between the undead and the dwarves is still in disgrace.

Under the order of Vared, a large number of worker ants were dispatched to the fortress, and they demolished all the simple fortifications built outside Karak-Karak, and then used these building materials to build a forward base and bunker at the inner wall exit of Karak-Karak.

After spending more than ten days and paying the price of hundreds of worker ants being shot, these exits were expanded and extended, transformed into relatively sturdy bunkers and fortresses. The undead immediately dragged the captured dwarf artillery in. Toward the inside, the smaller Karak Karak Fortress and the bunker fortifications on the inner wall of Karak Karak. At the same time, a large number of ancient tomb guards holding new rapid-fire guns and skeleton musketeers holding muskets also advanced to these fortifications, using the bunkers and dwarf crossbowmen, the thunderers shot each other.

The undead have artillery, and the rifles guarded by the ancient tomb are excellent, but the dwarves have the advantage of the land. The fortifications and bunkers are not comparable to those of the undead's shoddy work for more than ten days. There are more numbers, and there are also assistance from rotary machine guns. Both sides almost tied.

Karak-Karakne fired like this day and night. Both sides were completely unwilling to be ammunition-the undead had a complete logistics transportation system, and the dwarves could even produce ammunition and crossbows by themselves using underground arsenals.

Every day, many dwarf soldiers were bombarded into meat sauce or made into sieves. Many undead soldiers were shot and killed. The loss of both sides was also serious. However, Vared was not afraid - for him, the undead were just weapons and consumables. No matter how many deaths were, it would not hurt. But the dwarfs could not do it. One of the eighty thousand defenders would be less. Anyone who died was heartbroken.

What the soldiers on both sides have to do now is to pour as many projectiles and crossbow arrows into the opponent's positions as possible before their guns, artillery or crossbows were damaged, or before their own death. The outer wall and inner side of the Karak-Karak, the air less than thirty meters had been burned by countless bullets, and was contaminated by countless gun smoke and could hardly breathe.

The closed mountain and its extremely poor breathability make the dirty air in the Karak-Karak Fortress unable to be excreted. In this way, after half a month of high-intensity war, the environment in the fortress became worse than the chimneys that had not been cleaned for a long time.

The poor battle situation in the fortress was blocked by the undead like a turtle, and the stuffy and irritating noise, making a crazy battlefield, even the tough dwarves felt it was difficult for them to accept. If it weren't for the sense of mission and honor that supported them, they would probably have been unable to hold on. Perhaps, if a group of people were replaced to guard the fortress, they would have surrendered without hesitation.

This battle was therefore called "Living Hell" by the dwarves and self-deprecating as "the rat in the chimney". Even the ranger leader Bagman, who fought an old war, was very surprised by this situation. He sighed: "I have never experienced such a bad war in my life. Those undead are cold-blooded machines, and the vampires who manipulate the undead are a group of abnormal crazy people."

The dwarves found it difficult to accept these situations, but the undead had no such concerns at all. Even in the worst situation, they could guarantee to exert 100% combat effectiveness. In this way, after a month of roar and shooting, in December, the dwarf defenders became increasingly unable to do so.

Listening to the continuous sound of gunfire outside the fortress, Krieger and Bagman, who had not had a good sleep for a while, smiled bitterly. The torture of the war made the two dwarf soldiers who looked short and sturdy, look haggard.

The war has come to this point, and now there is only bad news except for the bad news. The 80,000 dwarf army has died almost 30,000, but its combat power has been reduced by about 70%. If it weren't for the strong fortress and firepower network composed of crossbows and crossbows, the fortress would have been lost in this moment.

In addition, one of the worse things is the consumption of reserved food. At the beginning, the inexperienced Krieg took the food required during war, naturally equal to the food required in peacetime. However, he did not expect that the food required for a physically consuming job like war requires much more than usual. Therefore, some errors in calculations were made.

Although after this, Bagman soon discovered this and corrected it. However, the food - the food consumed by the civilians cannot be found again. At the same time, the food rationing of the civilians has been reduced, and the civilians, especially the humans living in Karak-Karak, have been complained. With increasingly hopeless defensive operations, dark life, and bad air, all this has made human refugees unable to persevere.

Generally speaking, in the human world - whether it is the Sigma Empire, Batonia, Tyriel or Skiev. The garrison should consider a decent surrender ceremony until now. However, despite being tired and embarrassed, the dwarves showed no sign of surrender. Human refugees judged others by themselves, but they felt that the dwarves were all fools.

Since dwarves are fools, it is not unforgivable to part ways with "smart" humans. In recent times, among human refugees, a few more prestigious guys have privately connected and conspired to say that they would be unfavorable to the dwarf defenders. But this sign is not obvious at the moment, and the dwarves have not noticed it...

In addition, what is even worse is the destruction of this war on Karak Karak itself. More than a month of bombing has made it a shell and many cracks appear in the mountain that was chiseled through by the dwarves. If it is said that if it continues like this, the Karak Karak undead cannot be taken away and the dwarves cannot defend it. It will be ruined like this.

Another thing is the problem of reinforcements. In the north, the supreme dwarf king Thorin, who was struggling with the Chaos Dwarf, heard that his country's Karak Hull was annexed by the undead, and then the undead attacked his capital Karak Karak, and his lungs were almost irritated. He even wanted to leave the Chaos Dwarf's army regardless of the situation and return to the rescue Karak Karak.

Of course, in the end, the Supreme King did not do this. Instead, he organized an elite army, including five hundred giant Hu soldiers, and handed it over to his friend, the white dwarf Gram Bryndell. He appointed him as the commander-in-chief of Carac Carac. He asked him to lead the troops to aid Carac Carac and fight against the army of undead.

At the same time, the Supreme Dwarf also ordered the Karak-Ansou to send a force to launch an attack from east to west to support the main force of the white dwarf.

This strategy is quite good. Although it is much worse than the terrorist war art that Valed always unexpectedly, it can be considered fair-looking. In this situation, it is not bad.

But it is really too tempting to compete with one of the most terrifying strategists in the world with this.

Vared had already predicted the other party's intentions, and after that, he instructed his father-in-law Aolah to lead a unit of the Blood Dragon Knights and a deceased army to go north to intercept the white dwarf Gram. At the same time, he personally led a ghost unit and a vampire officer unit. He marched for a day and night and directly caught up with the reinforcements sent by Karak Ansou. The undead troops falling from the sky directly cut the dwarf reinforcements into several sections, divided them, and then slaughtered them wantonly. One day later, the Karak Ansou front army, which was full of corpses, collapsed completely.

The reinforcements on the north road were blocked, and the reinforcements on the east road were even better, and they were killed directly. Karak Karak became an isolated city at this point.

Bagman and Krieg sat down to discuss, and the more they discussed, the more they became discouraged. But they didn't know what to say or what to do.

Seeing the situation awkward, Bagman offered advice and said that he would go out for a tour. Krieg thought that although the outside was full of pungent and choking smoke, it was much better than sitting here with a dry place. So he nodded and agreed to Bagman's proposal.

Just as the two dwarves were about to go out, they saw many dwarves stumble towards them, covering their mouths and noses. When they heard outside, the sound of gunfire seemed to be much less. The two dwarves were shocked and asked loudly: "What's wrong?"

"Poison, poisonous..." The dwarf who was pulled by them said intermittently, then rolled his eyes and fell to the ground. When he looked at it again, he was already dead...

At the same time, outside the city of Karak Karak, under the order of Valed, the general attack on Karak Karak began. In front of the array, Valed's face was calm, as if telling the truth, and said to his subordinates:

"Today is the 15th December of the 2332nd year of General Legislation. Next year is the anniversary of the victory of Sylvania's occupation of Karak-Karak. Eight months later, we will choose one day as the anniversary of peace in the Dwarf Kingdom."
