185, Mount Sinai

Moses and other people were unable to pass through the city of Marduke, controlled by Yusir. They had been patrolling the fertile plains in the mountains for several months, constantly moving from one place to another, looking for water and food in the mountains, and their lives were very difficult.

A road has appeared from the Youdi River Ferry controlled by the Kish city state of the Barron Kingdom to the city of Marduke. Many explorers with expectations have come to this brand new city state, looking for wealth and dreams. Many merchants also organized convoys to send supplies and transported back the specialties of the Duke Plain. Although the journey was difficult but very profitable.

The Duke Plain is like a new unknown world given by gods, full of challenges and opportunities, and people come here to look for hope. There was a legend that no one had a wanderer in the Duke Plain, and could even have a city-state, which could obtain wealth comparable to a king, and could also get blessings from the gods of the gods in the future. Of course, migrants from the Kingdom of Barron chose the Malduck City-state, while the caravans went further, crossing the paths that were stepped on by carriages and pedestrians in the wasteland, and doing business with the city of Salem.

The city of Salem communicated with the Kingdom of Barron through the city of Marduque. This was the result of Medanzo's negotiations specially found Yusir, which was beneficial to the development of the two city-states. At present, the biggest enemy of Salem is the Assyrians in the north. If the Assyrians advance from north to south, it will be difficult for the city of Marduque to gain a foothold. These two city-states have a relationship of losing their lips and cold teeth.

Yusir didn't want to be an enemy of Salem. He was happy to see a barrier in the center of the Duke Plain blocking the strong enemy in the north, so that he could have more time to stabilize the city of Malduck.

The fine iron and fur produced in Salem City are also materials needed by the Barron Kingdom, not to mention the divine stones. The miners' skills in Duke Town were taught to Link, and Link also taught to the cave savages in the tribe. Now there are a group of excellent craftsmen in Salem City, who can not only smel ore but also create various exquisite utensils.

However, there are restrictions on trade between the Kingdom of Barron and the City of Salem. For example, products such as fine iron can only be transported from the Duke Plain and are not allowed to be transported in. Weapons, armor, war horses and other important strategic materials are not allowed to be sold to the City of Salem.

If Salem City needs these things, it either builds them by itself or can only obtain them from other channels. Amon opened another business road in the Black Fire Swamp, of course, to solve this problem. However, even if the long business road is opened, it cannot meet the urgent needs. The city of Salem City has insufficient staff and still has a lot of things to do, and it is impossible to build all the war preparation materials.

Before the road to the Black Fire Swamp was opened, Medanzo came up with another idea to engage in a smuggling trade. Medanzo was originally a smuggling horse leather billet, and it was easy to guide people to do this business.

When entering the wasteland for adventure and hunting, you naturally have to carry weapons, armor, horses, and those adventure teams that go deep into the wasteland. The self-use equipment of stray hunters is not within the limits of trade. However, a complete set of excellent weapons, armor and war horses are definitely not affordable for ordinary people. Many adventure teams carry simple weapons and walk into the wasteland together to try their luck.

A business in the city of Marduk provides loans to these people, and the money they borrow is used to purchase war horses and weapons and equipment designated by the business. Who would borrow this money and how to return it in the future? Don’t worry about this. After entering the wasteland, someone will purchase their weapons and war horses. The price is very high. After repaying the business bank’s loan, you can make a fortune without going deep into the wilderness.

It is normal for explorers to lose weapons and war horses in the wilderness jungle. Sometimes it is because of the difficult road, sometimes it is because of the beast, and sometimes even their lives will be sent away. If you fail the adventure, you will escape back by "lucky" and go back to the business bank to return the loan, and then you can make a fortune, and then continue to borrow money to buy equipment and set off again. This is how Medanzo allowed the city of Salem to obtain a steady stream of strategic materials.

Borrowing in a commercial bank is calculated based on time. If the wandering explorers who smuggle materials in this way are delayed for too long, they will not be able to make money. Therefore, they must strive to go quickly and quickly and take it away several times in the shortest time to strive for more profits.

The owner of the business dealer in Marduak City is also an old friend, Nescott-Lee, a wealthy businessman in the Uruk City State. He not only makes profits through borrowing, but also makes money by selling various strategic materials. He organized caravans in various parts of the Kingdom of Barron to transport them to Marduak City, and had a happy cooperation with Medanzo.

Because Nescott-Li's business was excellent, the materials transported, customers attracted and taxes paid were all very good, which promoted the prosperity and development of Marduke City and was praised by the city lord Yusir many times. When Nescott-Li came to Marduke City to inspect his business, the city lord Yusir specially invited the rich businessman and said that he would report Nescott-Li's achievements to the kingdom, and might be able to obtain the title of a nobleman as long as he continued to contribute to Marduke City.

On the high slopes of the mountain, caravans and explorers can be seen traveling through the city of Marduk and Salem, but Moses and others were unable to move forward. They were bound by an oracle: except Marduk, they were not allowed to build statues for any other gods.

But they believed in their only God and accepted the guidance of Arhaha to reach here through thousands of difficulties. Moses and his tribesmen were naturally unwilling to accept this condition.

At the beginning, they prayed to the gods all night, and then heard the voice of the messenger. Medanzo told them that this was the test of the gods, the last obstacle they had to overcome before returning to their hometown. The gods gave them faith and courage, and now they need to solve it with their own wisdom and strength. The implication is that Aroho will not bring them directly, and this time the tribesmen need to find a way to overcome the difficulties themselves.

What should I do? On the top of the mountain, I can see the vast Duke Plain from afar, but the city of Malduck was in front of me, and retreated was a thousand miles away from the Syrian desert. The food carried by Moses's space magic weapon was exhausted, and Aroho no longer showed miracles. They could only pick wild fruits in the mountains and capture prey.

The miners in Duke Town chased prey and water migration in the mountains. When spring came, they finally stopped their tired steps temporarily and found a valley to stop on the edge of the mountain. There was a thin clear spring on the hillside, forming a winding mountain stream through a valley that sheltered from the wind and sun. Moses took out the grain seeds he carried with him and ordered the tribes to reclaim the land and plant crops by the mountain stream, and built a simple thatched hut and lived at the foot of the mountain.

The tribesmen protected this field from being trampled by wild beasts and took turns to hunt in nearby mountains. The seeds had just broken through the ground and sprouted, and there was still a long time before harvest. Every day, they had to go to the mountain stream to irrigate and go to the mountain to hunt for food. Life was very difficult. Suffering is second, and the most tormenting feeling is the feeling of invisible hope.

A tribe said to Moses: "You asked us to cultivate the fields and build huts. Do you want to settle here? Look at the surroundings, there are deserts without people. Not far from the mountain is the vast desert. We only guard a small mountain stream, living in this barren valley, and can only build the simplest huts. If so, it would be better to stay in Amon's territory. Why do we have to leave at the beginning? We have gone through hardships and are not what we want today!"

Moses replied, "This is just a place for us to stop for a moment. Spring is here, and we must sow autumn to harvest, and with food to survive the next winter and go further."

Some tribe members asked again, "Is it temporary? But how long will we linger here? Where has the God who guides us?"

Moses advised: "This is God's test for us. We have to overcome difficulties ourselves. Sowing here is for future harvests. Building houses is for everyone to have a better rest. When we embark on the day of our journey, we will have a better hope and a future."

Everyone asked, "Can you tell us how long we will stay here?"

Moses did not answer this question, because he himself did not know the answer, but said with an iron branch staff: "Look at the land under his feet, the broken malt is full of vitality, and then look at the clouds in the sky. The changing patterns are always so beautiful and magical. If the heart is full of hope, even the sunshine in the desert will always be so bright."

In fact, Moses himself could quietly bypass the city of Marduk and enter the Duke Plain. After crossing the Red Sea, he had already achieved the seventh level of strength of one body and two sides. Although Amon had not given him guidance on his original power, Moses was already a great magician and a great warrior, and he could go anywhere. But Moses did not abandon his tribe. He was their leader and he wanted to fulfill his promise.

At this time, Yusir sent people to find them again. Yusir's messenger told Moses: "The great god Malduk has brought down the oracle again. You are the best craftsmen on the continent. If you are willing to live in Malduk and vow to always believe in Malduk, you will have a happy and prosperous life. There are comfortable houses and beautiful girls in Malduk. You have prepared craftsmen's workshops for you, and there are fine wines on the workbench."

Moses rejected this request, but some people were already moved in private. Instead of waiting here aimlessly, it would be better to live a comfortable life in the city of Marduk. It was just that it was difficult to face Arroha's guidance, but the gods had already said that they needed to find a way to overcome the difficulties themselves. Since that is the case, can they also accept Usir's conditions?

If they give up persistence, the benefits will be right in front of them. The suffering they suffered has been long enough. Moses noticed the thoughts of many tribesmen and tried to get out of the predicament. He sent the twelve judges to climb up the various high slopes near the Duke Plain to observe the terrain, check whether there are any secret passages that can be passed, and then return to the resident to discuss countermeasures.

After the twelve judges left, Moses climbed the highest mountain beside the station alone, which was named Mount Sinai. Moses prayed for three days and three nights on the top of Mount Sinai. He called in his heart: "Aroho, my only God! Please give us real guidance. I do not ask you to move mountains and fill the sea so that we can directly reach our hometown. I just want to ask you to give me some advice on the correct beliefs and how to prevent us from getting lost in the journey."

Three days passed, and Mount Sinai was silent. Moses was worried about the situation of his tribe, so he finally prepared to go back. He sighed and stood up. He was holding an iron branch staff when he suddenly heard the voice of Arhaha again: "Moses, you can actually pass through the city of Marduke, why are you still staying here?"

Moses turned and knelt down, prostrated to the gods he could not see in the void and said, "My God, you have finally spoken! Marduk descended the oracle and asked us to swear that we should not build statues for gods other than him. This vow blocked the footsteps of the tribe."

Arrohe asked back, "Have I asked you to build an statue of God for me? If you really want to build an statue of God for me, what will it look like?"

Moses was stunned, and after a long time, he suddenly realized: "I understand what you mean. Not building a statue of God will not shake our faith."

Arrohe asked again: "Then why haven't you led your tribe into the Duke Plain yet? The city of Malduck is not an obstacle."

Moses sighed, "But the tribesmen don't understand these things, and even I am not sure. The promise of such a condition is disrespect to you. The tribesmen are afraid of losing God's guidance and even being retaliated by you. My God! Do you really don't want to show your face to your people, don't we build an image of God for you?"

Arrohe replied, "Yes, I just made a promise to you to strengthen your inner beliefs, and you do not need or allow you to build an image of God for me. If one day you see my face, it is also a secret that you must keep strictly. Because from the beginning, I made such an agreement with my tribe members. Today I will clarify these agreements and take them back and announce them."

Moses nodded quickly and said, "Okay, please make a covenant with me and my tribe."

Arhae solemnly said: "You must not have any other God besides me! Otherwise you will lose my guidance. This is the first agreement. You cannot build a tangible image of God. If that happens, the people of the future may forget the guidance of faith and just pray for idols on the altar. This is the second agreement. These two agreements are enough to get you out of your current predicament. This is my request and my promise."

Moses kissed the dirt and said, "Thank you, my God!"

Arrohe said again: "Don't act in my name. Everyone should be responsible for their own choices. This is the third agreement. The tribesmen work very hard. They should rest for one day after six days of work and should not drive them to work anymore. This is the fourth agreement. Respect your parents and never forget who brought you into this world and gave you life. This is the fifth agreement."

Moses crawled on the ground and replied, "I have recorded all these."

Arrohe continued, "I have given you the guidance of strength, and at the same time, you must understand the various tests in this world. The question of fate runs through it. After returning to your hometown, there are five warnings. Do not kill innocent people, do not deprive others of their lives because of money or selfish desires; do not steal; do not frame others by perjury; do not greed for things that do not belong to you. You must remember these agreements, the city-state of Salem has preserved the land and mines of your ancestors for you, and you must live in harmony with the people there, and do not think that everything there is justified because of my promise."

Moses kept in mind the words of Araho in his heart, which were the ten agreements made by God with His people and his tribes, and later called the Ten Commandments. After saying this, Araho commanded again: "Tell me my agreement to the tribes. If they are willing to keep it, I will fulfill my promise and continue to guide them. After all this, you come to Me on Mount Sinai."

Moses walked down Mount Sinai with his promise with Arrohe, and passed the springs at the hillside where the stream originated, and ran away with light steps along the mountain stream. He couldn't wait to tell the tribe members this good news. When he came to the place where the tribe members lived, it was already dark, but the scene in front of him surprised him.

Several large fires were lit next to the open space in the middle of the hut. This place was originally a wheat field after autumn harvest, but now a shining Taurus is placed in the center of the open space. Some people are dancing around the Taurus, and some people line up to pray to the Taurus.

Moses shouted, "What are you doing? Where did Taurus come from?"

This question was accompanied by divine magic, and had the power to shock the soul to awaken people from their stupidity. The dancing people stopped, and the prayers stood up, showing confusion, panic, and unwilling expressions. Joshua flashed out of the shadow of the hut, grabbed Moses' sleeve and said, "You are finally back! A big thing happened here in the past three days, and a god showed a miracle." He whispered the story-

The twelve judges who protected the tribe left the camp, and the leader Moses also climbed Mount Sinai. The tribes seemed to have lost their backbone. Even the sound of wind blowing through the treetops at night became so terrible. They spent the first night in panic. In fact, most of them were very strong, comparable to any regular legion warrior on the road, but for the first time in such a long time, they were a little scared and at a loss for a moment.

The first day after Moses left, an unsettling situation occurred. The prey in the nearby mountains became without a trace. The tribesmen who entered the mountains to hunt did not even catch a rabbit and all came back empty-handed. The first time everyone slept on hunger. The food they carried had been eaten, and the last batch had been sown as seeds.

The tribesmen fell asleep in hunger and anxiety. On that night, whether awake or asleep, they heard a sound coming from nowhere, as if they were directly heard in their minds: "Does the miners in Duke Town want to save themselves from their miserable fate? I am the great god Bakri, to guide you back to your dream happy home."
