285, the theater

285, watch the show

Barney Mend shifted his goal and stepped forward and stared at Dewey a few steps and asked, "You have such a point of view, which proves that you can think. So what is the meaning of this kind of thinking? A stone does not need to eat or make money. What is the difference between you and it? Why does it become fun when you stand here and listen to other people's talk?"

When Amon saw this scene, he hurried forward and grabbed Parmenides and said, "So I just reposted the question of Socrates. I have heard of this name. You asked me again if I came from Plato Academy, and if I could ask you about another sage from Plato Academy, whose name was Aristotle."

Barney Mend replied, "Oh, he is no longer in Yalun. It is said that he went to the Kingdom of Macedonia to be a court teacher, very far away from here." As he spoke, he still wanted to chase Dewey, who was about to leave, and Amon took the opportunity to disappear into the crowd in the square.

...

The next day, Aesop said to Amon: "My God, the Yalun people also like to watch various dramas, and ordinary people perform stories of gods on stage, which is different from the artists of other countries in the Tianshu continent. Such performances may be regarded as blasphemy if they are in Eju or Hati, but the Yalun people love to watch these."

Amon asked with interest: "Oh? I also heard yesterday that there is a special theater here. People wear costumes to perform stories about gods and the world. How did it come about first?"

Aesop replied: "The earliest originated from the discussions of people in the Temple Square. Smart artists compiled the topics about gods they heard in the Temple Square into plays and performed them for passers-by, and they were very popular. Later, a sage wrote repertoires specifically for artists to perform in the theater. This is one of the most popular entertainments among the people in Yalun."

Medanzo interrupted, "I went out for a walk yesterday. I heard that there are three playwrights who are the most famous. They write tragedies, which earned the men's sighs and women's tears. I also want to go and see them."

Amon nodded and said, "Okay, let's go to the show together! I have never seen such a show, and there has never been such a theater in other city-states."

Aesop was the "master", sitting in a carriage, Medanzo was the "guardian", and following the carriage majestic. Amon was still the inconspicuous coachman, driving the carriage to the most lively theater in Yaren City. Aesop asked for the best seat, and the play released today is "Prometheus".

At the opening, a group of artists on the stage should be playing the role of the envoys who were singing praising the gods. This is no different from the scene where the countries in the Tianshu continent praise the gods. It is just that ordinary people replaced the identity of the envoys on the stage. Amon just looked at it with a smile, and after a while, he gradually became obsessed with the impression because the "god" appeared.

This is a story at the beginning of the birth of the Olympus God. According to Amon's understanding of the Olympus God, Zeus merged the kingdom of the original gods, thus creating the current kingdom of Olympus. This process was also accompanied by a battle of gods. What is different from the battle of Anunaki's gods is that Zeus proved a higher achievement than the gods of creation.

The legends on earth are expressed in ways that people can understand, but in Amon's view, Prometheus is the god who should have failed in the battle of the gods and is also the confrontation of Zeus. In the myths and legends on earth, it vaguely implies that he has achieved something equivalent to the Creator God or higher, which surprised Amon.

Because in the story, Prometheus used river water to mix soil and formed into human appearance according to the image of the god of heaven. Jalena, the god of wisdom, gave these soil bodies a soul that could think, so the original man was born. This contradicts a background, that is, the earliest creation god in the Olympus system was not Zeus. Generally, in myths everywhere, the so-called creationists were the original creation gods, and Prometheus was just a representative name.

The next story on the stage is the interpretation of the human world, which is even more interesting. As a god, Prometheus tends to be humans and does not hesitate to deceive the gods for humans, which angers Zeus. Zeus decided not to hand over the fire to the world. Prometheus violated the decision of the Lord of the Gods and stole the fire from the sky with a fragrant branch and brought it to the human world.

Seeing this, Amon couldn't help but smile. He remembered the original Rink's cave-dwelling savage tribe, lit an endless fire in a large cave to worship as gods, and also the holy fire of light worshipped by the Pots Empire. This is all related to the most primitive divine life and religious origins. Fire symbolizes light, warmth, protection and hope, and is also the beginning of people's wisdom from ignorance.

In myths and legends everywhere, it is the gods who created the world and gave light and warmth, and the situation here is no exception. However, the playwrights in Yalun City adapted the structure of myths, and the fire became the fuse for the differences between the gods and the conflict between man and gods, praising a spirit of resistance to the will of the gods.

In this story, Amon realized another meaning, which is something that other audiences in the theater do not understand, which is what the so-called "name and real language" in the Aju myth. Names refer to the achievements of gods, and real language refers to the method of achieving such achievements. For mortals, it is the secret of becoming gods. Amon's personal experience confirms this process.

If the "fire" in this play is replaced with the "name and real language" in the Aegean myth, then the legend has another allusion. It seems to be implying that Prometheus wants to inform the world of the secret of becoming a god, and Zeus does not want to make the guidance of the Origin Power Public.

Amon didn't know whether such a thing had happened. He didn't know much about the secrets within the Olympus system, and he was just performing human dramas on the stage. He couldn't help but ask Iso, "Someone can write such a drama, which shows that the legends have been circulating for a long time. In the legends you know, what kind of god is Prometheus?"

Aesop frowned and replied, "I heard a long-standing legend when I was a child. Prometheus was a sinner among the gods. This man used conspiracy and tricks to deceive the gods, so he was punished by Zeus and was forever imprisoned by chains... And the drama we see obviously reinterpreted the myth, giving this god another image and giving the legend another explanation."

Amon was slightly moved and said, "Sinner? The story of this play should have its earliest origin. Such gods should belong to the defeated side in the ancient battle of the gods of the Olympus. The "human" created by Prometheus is also an hinting believers who believe in the defeated one god, just like my ancestors, the tribe members of Duke Town."

Medanzo touched his nose and said, "You said this really looks like it! If it weren't for the myth of Olympus, but for the legend of Anunaqi, I really thought it was hinting at the story of Duke. If Prometheus was not a god who defeated one side, but one of those sinners, it was almost alluding to your story."

Amon smiled slightly and said, "The world under the sun always has familiar shadows. This drama reminds you of me, but you don't have to be me, it's just a story compiled by a sage. I'm just curious why the person who wrote this drama integrated into the new legends on the mainland and changed this myth?"

Amon was asking a question, and Aesop replied: "Although myths carry the shadow of gods, people only spread the things they understand, and add their wishes to the circumcision. Many of the stories I have told are the same. The people who wrote this drama have never seen Zeus, but have seen all kinds of people in the world. Those authorities who attempt to resist but cannot resist became the fathers of the gods in mythology, and their wishes became the act of Prometheus."

Medanzo also replied: "People have awe and desire in their hearts, which makes them imagine gods, and their anger and dissatisfaction with the world also makes them question gods. People long for the same power and freedom as gods. Sometimes, neighbors that cannot be accused of may become Zeus in the drama."

Amon continued to watch the show without asking for permission. The following performance made him think of the tribe members of Duke Town and the thousand-year sufferings that the tribe members endured.

On the stage, "humanity" was punished by Zeus. The gods of Olympus created a charming and lovely girl named Pandora, who came to the world with a magic box in his hand to seduce Prometheus's younger brother Epimetheus. The tempted Epimetheus opened the magic box, and various plagues and disasters flew out of the box. At the bottom of the box is "hope", but Pandora closed it and left it in the magic box.

Seeing this, Amon asked again: "What's going on with this box?"

The box was just compiled by the dramatist, but Amon's question obviously means something else. Medanzo replied: "People fear gods and fear the unknown, so they pray for hope to the gods in their hearts. People are dissatisfied with their situation, so they hate the gods who bring all this. Hope and disaster have become symbols of gods, including prayer and fear."

Aesop replied: "This is a complaint that can be seen everywhere in the world. For example, hatred of the tyrant, which also contains the ultimate purpose of the complaint, and it is left in the unopened magic box."

Amon stopped talking, and then the punishment on the stage became Prometheus himself. Zeus ordered the god envoy to lock Prometheus on the cliff of the Caucasus Mountains and spent the whole time of thirteen generations in the world. He was hungry and cold, and an eagle pecked at his internal organs every day. The wound healed and endured endless torture. There was a fruit tree on the cliff. The delicious fruit bent the branches and hung in front of Prometheus. When he wanted to open his mouth to eat, a gust of wind would blow the branches away.

This time Amon didn't say anything, but Aesop muttered to himself: "Hope is right in front of you, you can see it, but you can never reach it?"

Gradually, the play was coming to an end, and the moment of liberation came. A son of a god, Hercules, a half-human and demigod, passed by the Caucasus Mountains. The strong man sympathized with Prometheus's suffering fate, shot down the eagle that pecked him with an arrow, and broke the chains to rescue Prometheus.

In the final end, Prometheus and Zeus ended the confrontation and finally made peace, but Zeus still asked Prometheus to carry an iron ring with a stone locked on the cliff, symbolizing that he was still locked on the Caucasus mountain.

Seeing this, Medanzo said to himself: "The person who wrote this play did not know what the existence of a demigod is, so he understood the demigod as the descendants of the gods and people."

Aesop asked, "Is there really a strong man like Hercules in the world?"

Medanzo replied: "Of course there is, I have seen it with my own eyes, such as Enqidu."

But Amon didn't say anything more, and after the show ended, he said to Iso: "Well, it's really worth seeing, come again tomorrow!"

...

The next day, Amon came to the theater again. He did not sit in the best seat with Aesop and Medanzo. He was an ordinary car driver and mixed in the most crowded audience with a group of people dressed in burlap clothes to watch the show. Yesterday's play surprised Amon, while today's play shocked the god. Its name is "Oedipus", which is a story of ups and downs and thrilling ups and downs.

On yesterday's stage, the gods appeared directly, and in today's play, the gods were just shadows that appeared faintly, only showing their existence through oracles, and the stories all happened in the kingdom of the human world.

At the beginning of the show, the stage was also a familiar scene that had happened in many countries on the Tianshu continent. A plague occurred in a city-state called Thebaid. King Oedipus ordered the priest to pray in the temple of Apollo, praying for the help and salvation of the gods, and guiding people to survive the disaster.

Apollo is the god of light and youth in the Olympus god system, and is also the patron saint believed in by this city-state. On the walls of the Apollo Temple, there is a famous saying: "Know yourself."

Apollo brought down an oracle to Thebes city state: "Only the plague will be eliminated if the sinners hidden in the city are found and the murderer who killed the previous kings are punished."

Then the scene in the second act changed and turned into the queen's memory of the previous king. Oedipus was not the queen's first husband. The previous king of the city-state was killed by a strong man when he went out, and the son of the previous king was abandoned three days after his birth, and the kingdom lost his heir.

Why did the former king abandon his son? This is also because Apollo once descended the oracle, which predicted that the former king would be killed by his son. Why did the gods descend such an oracle? Looking back further, it turned out that the former king had robbed the son of another king when he was young, and was cursed by the gods.

And where does the current king Oedipus come from? Then another scene was changed on the stage, becoming Oedipus's memory.

Oedipus was the son of another city-state, the king of the Chinese king. One day, when he was praying to Apollo in the temple, he listened to the voice of the gods, saying that he would have the terrible fate of killing his father and marrying his mother. In order to fight this fate and not let the oracle come true, Oedipus ran away from home and vowed never to come back. On the way, he had an unexpected conflict with a group of people, drew his sword and killed an arrogant nobleman, and came to the city-state of Thebai.

At that time, the city-state of Thebai was shrouded in huge disasters. A sphinx was guarding the path that he had to passers-by and asked a puzzle, and if he couldn't answer it, he would be eaten. The king of the city-state was killed by a strong man outside not long ago. In order to save the city-state, everyone decided that whoever could solve the puzzle and free the city-state from misfortune could marry the widow of the previous king and inherit the throne.

Seeing this, Amon had already guessed what the playwright was going to write - Oedipus was the son of the previous king, and the man he killed was the original king of Thebaid. The oracle may symbolize fate, and the sentence engraved on the wall of the Apollo Temple is the root of the tragedy. People do not have the eyes that see everything like gods, and Oedipus does not know his origin, and everything he did fights against the fate that the oracle foreshadowed.

At this moment, Amon noticed that one of the front-row audience had a conspicuous head, because the man had a bald head, which was very rare in the Yalun City Gang. Zhengqing's scalp had fine hair stubble, and he looked like he was not born bald. Amon recognized this person, Vincentbu, who had walked with Wuliang Guang in the Syrian desert, and later met in Salem City. This person was another kind of transcendent.

Suddenly, he saw this man again in Yalun City, and he was squeezed into a position where he could reach out. Amon was surprised. Vincentbu also felt it. He turned his shoulders tightly to recognize Amon, then nodded and smiled, turned around to continue watching the show, but a voice came from his soul: "God Amon, why have you entered the divine realm of Olympus? You should look like you should not have the permission of the divine system, and doing so may cause disputes."

Amon asked in his soul, "Aren't you here too?"

Vincentbe replied, "I am just watching the show and will not show or use any of your so-called miracle means."

Amon: "I'm just here to watch the show and will not show miracles."

Vincent: "Oh? Then the eyes you looked at me just now do not belong to mortals, and they all have magic powers that penetrate the six consciousnesses. If I were a god of the Olympus, I might be alarmed or irritated by you."

Amon smiled and said, "I know you are not a god of the Olympus, but just mingled among the crowd like me to watch the show. I have such a vision in order to confirm your identity. Can you feel my soul-penetrating gaze. Is this a miracle?"

Vincent Bu replied: "The guidance I have received is different from the path you are familiar with. I am just a self-sufficient in magical powers, which is different from what you call displaying miracles."

While he spoke, he imprinted a message from Amon's soul: this practitioner called some means "supernatural powers", but it was different from the so-called miracles of each divine system. It was just an extension of perception. When possessing and using this ability, it would not have any unnecessary touch on the world.

Vincent Bu's explanation is very interesting and has a new inspiration for Amon-

For example, the so-called "eye-width" can see extremely far away places and even see certain scenes in the past and future, which is related to the practitioner's magic power and realm. Among the methods mastered by Amon, detecting divine arts or information magic arts can also achieve this, but Vincent B explained the difference in the means.
