Chapter 101 Common Ground (Additional update 2/12)(1/2)

 Half an hour later.

Susan rushed to the scene with the survey team.

The investigation team entered the house to collect physical evidence.

Susan asked, "Can you tell me more about the investigation?"

Luke said, "We went to Ball's garage and met the owner, Carrus Ball.

I learned some things from him.

According to Carruth Ball, the homeowner, Benjamin Nassi, had a conflict with the Mexican victim, Santos Mendine.

We'll come over and investigate.

David smelled the smell of blood, and considering the emergency, he went directly into the house to search."

Susan nodded, "Well done."

David said, "The homeowner had a motive for committing murder. There was a lot of blood in the house. This was probably the first scene of the murder of Santos Mendin."

The deputy team member frowned, "Did it go too smoothly?"

Susan asked, "What do you think?"

The deputy team member was silent for a moment and said, "You guys have talked with the owner of the car repair shop, Carlos Ball. What do you think of him as a person?"

David asked, "You suspect there's something wrong with him?"

The deputy team leader shrugged, "As long as someone is involved in the scandal, I will raise suspicions."

David thought for a while, "He treats Santos Mendin well. At least he hasn't seen any motive for committing the crime yet."

The deputy said, "Criminals don't show their evil side."

Susan said, "Vice Captain, if you have any doubts about Carrus Bol, then talk to him directly."

"Are you sure you don't need me here?"

"It's enough for me."

"OK, you are the captain." The deputy team leader felt a little depressed and called Marcus to drive away.

Susan pointed at Luke and David, "You two, stop watching the fun.

Matthew found the whereabouts of Santos Mendine's car through surveillance cameras.

Around seven o'clock in the evening on the 28th, Santos Mendine left the car repair shop where he worked.

But instead of walking home, he drove to the city center.

At about 7:20, the car disappeared near Kaiwei Plaza.

The next time he appeared was at 12:35 in the morning on the 29th, and he disappeared for five hours. Let’s find out what he did.”

"Raymond, go investigate Benjamin Nassy's information."

“Yes,.“

Half an hour later, Luke and the two drove to the vicinity of Kaiwei Plaza.

As David drove, he looked around, "This place is so big, where can we find it?"

Luke asked back, "You said Santos Mendine didn't go home after work, so what are you doing here?"

David thought for a while, "Santos Mendine's wife ran away from home. Could it be that he came to find her?"

Luke smiled and said, "I don't know, but the city is not a suburb, and the roads are narrow and it is difficult to park.

We just walked around the neighborhood and only found one parking lot.

Go over and ask."

"That's a good idea." David drove into the parking lot.

Luke got out of the car and said to the middle-aged black man guarding the parking lot, "Hey, do you manage this place?"

The black guard glanced at Luke and said, "On working days, one dollar per hour. On non-working days, two hours per dollar."

"Thanks for the reminder." Luke showed his police badge, "But I want to know something from you."

The black guard was slightly startled, "What's going on? I only care about parking fees, and the rest has nothing to do with me."

"On the night of March 28, have you seen a Nissan Teana with license plate number 8Ceb383?"

"Yes, I have seen it."

Seeing how quickly he answered, Luke was surprised, "Why do you remember so clearly?"

"He works nearby. He comes to park the car almost every night. He even applied for a monthly pass. I have no reason not to recognize him."

"Where does he work?"

"The Kaiwei Bar is right in front. You can find out just by asking."

"Thank you." After putting down the car, Luke and the two walked to Kaiwei Bar.

The bar is already open, but there are not many people at this time, which is convenient for asking questions.

Luke walked to the bar.

The white bartender at the bar proactively asked, "What would you like to drink?"

Luke showed his police badge and said, "I want to ask you about someone."

"This is a bar. Many people come here every day. I may not remember everyone. Don't put too much hope in it."

Luke took out his phone and found a photo of Santos Mendine, "Do you know this person?"

"Santos Mendin, he is also the bartender here, but he hasn't been here for a few days."

"How long has he been working here?"

"Three or four months, what's wrong?"

Luke didn't answer and continued to ask, "From what time to what time does he usually work?"

"Between 7:30 and 12:30 in the evening."

"Is it like this every day?"

"Yes, is there any problem?"

"Who here is familiar with him?"

"You asked the right person. He is not very talkative. We occasionally chat a few words when we work together."

"What trouble has he been in lately?"

"He has been a little depressed recently, which seems to be related to his wife, but I don't know exactly what happened. He is not an easy person to talk to, and he never drinks.

Have you ever seen a bartender who doesn’t drink?” The white bartender smiled and asked, “What’s wrong with him? He doesn’t look like a criminal to me.”

"he died."

"Are you joking?"

Luke raised his police badge, "What do you think?"

"It's hard for me to accept that the person I worked with a few days ago suddenly... was so unfortunate. How did he die?"

"Trust me, you don't want to know."

"OK, then don't say it."

"Can you contact his wife?"

"He seemed to have mentioned where his wife worked, but... I can't remember clearly."

"Remember carefully."

The white bartender thought for a while, "I still can't remember, sorry, I have to work."

Luke left a business card, "I remember it, call me anytime, thank you."

After leaving the bar, David said with emotion, "This guy works harder than me. He repairs cars from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

He works as a bartender from 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m., and he works fifteen hours a day. Plus commuting time, this guy almost works except for sleeping and eating."

"This is why I don't get married." Luke thought of many possibilities, but he never thought that Santos Mendine came here for work.

"Even if you want to get married, there must be a woman willing to marry you. From my experience, that lawyer has no chance."

"What about Santos Mendin? He works so hard, why did his wife leave him?"

Luke thought to himself, you have such a bad experience, your wife ran away with someone else.

David snorted, "Who knows what these women are thinking."

The next morning.
