Chapter 12 Drag Racing Party(1/2)
"FUCK!"
Luke felt the urge to shoot this bastard.
When others cheat on his father, he cheats on his teammates.
Luke made up his mind to change his partner this time when he went back.
But now I have no choice but to cover him.
David rushed into the house immediately and searched the left side, "Safe."
Luke followed, searching the right side of the house, "Safe."
The two of them moved forward in tandem, one behind the other.
The house is not large, with only a living room, kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom.
The room was in a mess, filled with all kinds of sundries and food waste, and a bad smell hit my nose.
"Safety."
"Safety."
…
Luke and the two searched the house carefully and found no one.
Luke put away the gun and rubbed his fingers on the coffee table. There was already a thick layer of dust. There was also leftover pizza on the coffee table, which was already hairy.
Judging from the rottenness of the food, no one had lived here for at least a week.
"David, there's not even a mouse in the house, where's the cry for help coming from?"
David shrugged and said nonchalantly, "Maybe... I heard wrong. You understand."
"Of course, I understand. You are just a reckless bastard. If you don't get rid of this bad habit, you will kill us sooner or later."
"Both and each other, I'm a bastard and you're a lazy ass for leaving such an important clue unchecked and running off to eat first."
"At least I won't let my teammates be accused, and the time we have to eat can be used to apply for a search warrant."
"Come on, by the time the search warrant is applied for, the suspect will have already fled to Mexico. According to the police department's system, the police have the right to investigate the suspect's residence in an emergency. What we do is not illegal."
"It's an emergency for you at any time."
The two argued for a few words, and the atmosphere became a little tense.
After a moment of silence, David spread his hands and said, "OK, I was wrong about this, and I apologize.
However, since we have already come in, why not search carefully, maybe we can find valuable clues."
"David, this matter is not over yet." After Luke finished speaking, the two of them split up to search.
The living room and bedroom were all messy. Luke also found a bag of white powder, several hundred dollars and some seasonal clothes in the cabinet.
Judging from these circumstances, the suspect left in a hurry.
David also finished the search. He stood by the window and looked out, frowning and saying, "Hey, there is a sneaky guy hanging around our car. What does this guy want to do..."
The two came out of the house and saw a slovenly white man looking in through the car window, holding the door handle with his right hand and holding a long wire in his left hand.
"Asshole, get your dirty hands off!"
Seeing David approaching with great momentum, the slovenly white man quickly took two steps back and threw the wire aside, "Oh, don't get excited, I was just joking."
"Your joke is funny, but you picked the wrong person." David showed his police badge.
"Oh, No, I respect you and don't want to cause trouble." The white man took two steps back, turned around and ran away.
Luke had already gone around to the other side, blocking his way to escape.
The white man waved his fist, pretending to hit Luke.
Luke stepped aside and stretched out his right foot to hook the opponent's calf.
In a hurry, the slovenly white man couldn't escape and fell directly to the ground, "Bang!"
Luke pressed his knee against the opponent's lower back, "lapd, you dare to steal a police car, you are so brave."
The sloppy man didn't try to resist, he just tilted his head and said, "Sir, I never thought about stealing the car, it was really just a joke."
"The long wire in your hand is not a joke." Luke put handcuffs on him and lifted him off the ground.
A woman with messy hair ran over from a distance, "What are you doing? Why are you arresting my friend?"
David showed his police badge, "Are you his accomplice?"
"Are you the police?" The woman's mental state was not very good.
David tilted his head slightly and looked at the woman in front of him, as if he recognized her, "Lindsay, I am David."
The woman waved her hand and said, "Let him go."
David patted his chest with his hand, "Lindsay, it's me, David."
The woman seemed to recognize David and shook her head, looking a little uneasy.
David approached slowly, "It's okay, I've been looking for you everywhere, just to make sure you're living well. Are you okay?"
The woman stepped back and said, "I'm fine, I'm fine, stay away from me."
"I just want to help you, just want to help you."
Lindsay asked, "You want to help me?"
"Yes."
"Give me all the cash you have?"
"What?"
"Give me all the money."
"Shall I send you to a drug rehab center?"
"I don't need to go to that place. Come on."
David glanced back at Luke, looking a little helpless, "Lindsay, don't do this."
The two looked at each other for a moment, and David sighed softly and took out a few bills from his trouser pocket.
Lindsay grabbed it, turned around and ran away.
David looked at her background with a lonely expression.
Luke was a little confused. It was the first time he saw such a "weak" David. "What happened?"
David's eyes were red, he walked over quickly and punched the slovenly man in the abdomen, "What's your name?"
"Logan Salmu"
"That's enough David, someone is coming." Luke was afraid that he was making irrational actions, so he pulled the sloppy man aside.
David gritted his teeth and said, "Remember this lesson, there will be no next time."
The sloppy man couldn't straighten his back in pain and nodded repeatedly.
Luke asked, "What's going to happen to this guy?"
"Let him go."
"are you serious?"
"Let him go."
The sloppy man urged, "He let me go."
Luke opened the handcuffs and let the slovenly man leave. He sat in the passenger seat with some displeasure and asked, "What's going on?"
David lowered his head, his voice full of helplessness, "That's my wife, I haven't seen her in almost half a year."
Luke was a little surprised, "Ex-wife?"
"We are not divorced." David let the car thief go because he didn't want to involve his wife.
Someone stole his car, and his wife helped to show off. If word spread, he would become the laughing stock of the entire police station.
Even with just a few glances, Luke could tell that the woman was on drugs.
A policeman's wife is actually a drug addict. This kind of thing is unspeakable for anyone.
"You calm down for a while. I'll ask the neighbors about Tony." Luke got out of the car and glanced around. Except for a few idle people wandering around, he didn't see anyone serious in his yard.
resident.
Luke knocked on several neighbor's doors, but no one opened the door. He didn't know whether no one lived there, wasn't home, or simply didn't want to open the door.
"This damn place..." Luke felt a little homesick.
Back in the car, David's mood seemed to have returned to normal, and he proactively asked, "Did you gain anything?"
"I didn't even see anyone."
"These rotten people are like vampires. They only come out at night." David started the car, "I'll take you to meet some friends. They should know about Tony's situation."
To be continued...
