Chapter 305 Stolen Money(1/3)

Under Luke's leadership, the case was investigated in an orderly manner.

The first was to verify the identity of the deceased. Although he had seen a photo of Franco Murphy, he was basically certain that the person who was shot was Franco Murphy.

But Luke still found the driver's license from his hand to verify his identity.

In this society, documents have more legal effect than appearance.

After confirming the identity of the deceased, Luke began to check his cell phone.

Most people in the United States use Apple or Samsung mobile phones, but the deceased used a Motorola mobile phone, which is commonly known as a mobile phone for the elderly in China.

The mobile phone is easy to operate and it is not easy to leave too much evidence.

Luke checked the mobile phone communication records and found that there were only three contacts, one of whom was Hu Fu, the middleman who bought the car, and the other two mobile phone numbers had no remarked names.

Luke sent these two mobile phone numbers to Matthew and asked him to investigate the situation of the mobile phone numbers.

This clue is very important. These two contacts are probably the accomplices of the deceased.

Now that Franco Murphy has been killed, Luke has no choice but to find his accomplices through other means.

Jackson trotted over and said, "Captain, we checked the motel's surveillance and found some clues about the robbers."

Jackson took out his tablet and clicked on the surveillance video, "After we checked the surveillance, we found that Franco Murphy ran out of Room 107, which happened to be downstairs from the room we just searched.

When we were searching room 207, he could have been heard downstairs, and then he escaped through the back window of the hotel, and Anthony just happened to catch him."

Luke pointed at the computer screen, "Whose identity is this room opened under?"

"Costa Sheehan, he is also a guest at the hotel. He opened the room yesterday afternoon."

"What is the relationship between Costa Sheehan and Franco Murphy? Do they know each other?"

"I don't know, but according to the motel employee, Costa Sheehan is still staying at the motel.

Yesterday afternoon, Costa Sheen came with his girlfriend. Costa Sheen had just opened a room, and not long after, his girlfriend opened another room.

The motel employees thought they lived separately and didn't think much about it. Now it seems they may have booked a room for the suspect and stayed in another room themselves."

"Where is the room that Costa Sheehan's girlfriend has?"

"Room 312."

Luke ordered, "Marcus, Jackson, Jenny, you guys come with me.

Raymond, you and the patrol will be guarding the backyard."

Anthony asked, "Luke, do you need my help?"

"It's not necessary for the moment. You should take a rest first."

"OK, you guys, be careful, those two people might also be the robber's accomplices."

"I know." Luke responded and led people to the third floor of the hotel.

The four of them walked to the door of room 312. Luke leaned against the door and listened to the noise. He didn't hear anything unusual and nodded to Xiao Hei beside him.

Xiao Hei walked to the door and knocked on the door, "Dong dong."

A man's voice came from the room, "Who is outside?"

"I'm a Los Angeles police officer, are you Costa Sheehan?"

"It's me, what's the matter?"

"Please open the door, we need to talk to you."

"What are you talking about? Why are you police looking for me?"

"Open the door!" Xiao Hei's tone increased.

The man complained softly.

The door opened slowly, and a shirtless man stood at the door. He looked at Luke and others and said in a panic, "Hey, didn't you say you wanted to talk? Why are you holding a gun?"

The white man wanted to close the door, but was blocked by Xiao Hei, "Hey, man, be smart and cooperate with the police investigation."

"Do you have a search warrant or other documentation?"

Xiao Hei held a gun in his right hand and ordered, "Put your hand where I can see..."

That's right, walk out of the room with your head in your hands."

"Hey, you can't do this, I'm only wearing underwear... you are violating human rights, I want to report you."

"Don't talk nonsense, do as I say, we have been polite enough to you."

Costa Sheen showed an angry look, and although he was a little dissatisfied, he still walked out of the room as ordered.

Xiao Hei pressed him against the wall and searched him, "Is there anyone else in the room?"

Before the man could answer, a woman's voice came from the room, a bit drunk, "Costa, what happened outside? Why don't you come in?"

Luke asked, "Who is she?"

"My girlfriend."

"Is there anyone else in the room besides her?"

"It was just the two of us. She was drunk and I drank a lot, but we didn't do anything illegal."

"Look at him." Luke finished his sentence and took Jackson and Jenny into the house to search.

"ah……"

The woman in the room was startled and covered her body with a quilt, "Who are you? Why did you break into our room? Where is Costa?"

"We are the police, raise your hands and don't move." Jenny walked to the bed and was responsible for guarding the woman.

Luke and Jackson continue their search.

There were pizza boxes and two bottles of red wine on the round table in the room, and there was a strong smell of alcohol in the room.

Luke and the two searched carefully and found no trace of anyone else in the toilet, closet, or under the bed.

Jenny also searched the woman and found no weapons.

The woman was a little dissatisfied and complained, "Why did you break into my room and disturb my rest? You are breaking the law and I will sue you!"

Luke did not relax his vigilance because of the threat of a woman. He was facing a group of extremely vicious gangsters, and he had to be extremely careful for the safety of himself and his team members.

Luke pulled out a picture of Franco Murphy, "Do you know him?"

The woman took one look and shook her head, "I don't know him."

Luke snapped his fingers, "Concentrate, look carefully, and don't lie to the police."

The woman rolled her eyes and said a little drunkenly, "I don't care. If you don't know her, you just don't know her."

Jenny said, "Captain, do you want me to help her sober up?"

"It's useless, she's not drunk, she's on drugs.

We should connect her with a drug rehab center."

The woman quickly denied, "Nonono, I didn't take drugs. I'm very sober. You can't accuse me unjustly."

"Then answer my question properly."

"I really don't know him."

Luke changed the question, "What is your relationship with the man outside?"

"He's my boyfriend."

"May I have your name?"

"Kathleen Fair."

"What's your relationship with Franco Murphy?"

"I really don't know the person you're talking about. You're mistaken." Kathleen Fair said dissatisfied.

"I don't even know why you broke into my room?

What you are doing is illegal, and if you don’t give me a reasonable explanation, I will definitely file a complaint against you!”

Luke said, "We are investigating a bank robbery. The man in the photo and his accomplices not only robbed the bank, but also killed an FBI agent.

Were you and your boyfriend involved?"

"No, really not. I really don't recognize the man in the photo."

"Where were you between nine and twelve o'clock yesterday morning?"

"I'm at the motel."

"Who can prove it?"

"My boyfriend can prove that the two of us are together."

"Lying. The motel surveillance shows that you two just came yesterday afternoon."

"Oh... I remembered it wrong. I was too nervous. We were sunbathing on the beach that morning. Yes, it was at the nearby Jimor Beach."
