Chapter 39 Arrest(1/2)
Dave was knocked down directly by the door and fell heavily to the ground.
By the time he reacted, his hands were handcuffed and he was given a Miranda warning.
"Fuck, what's wrong with you? Why did you break into my house?" Dave shouted angrily.
Susan asked, "Where is Alyssa?"
"Do you have a search warrant?"
Luke showed the search warrant and arrest warrant, "Mr. Lawyer, we have everything you want."
Dave raised his head and took a deep breath, "I can tell you, but I want to see her again."
Susan nodded, "Go ahead."
"She's in the basement. The key is in my jacket pocket. Don't scare her."
Marcus stared with big eyes, "Wow, did I hear you right? Why do we seem to be the bad guys?"
Dave ignored Marcus and asked Luke, "How did you find me?"
"very curious?"
"Of course, I asked myself that I didn't make any mistakes."
"I'm also very interested in your motive and process of committing the crime. Let's have a chat later."
"OK."
Jenny helped Alyssa out.
Alyssa was wrapped in a blanket, staring at Dave, and choked, "You self-righteous bastard, I told you to let me go. Now that you have been arrested by the police, you should wait to go to jail."
Dave forced a smile and said, "Alyssa, I don't regret it. If I could do it again, I would do it again. At least, you belong to me alone during this time."
"You lunatic, I never want to see you again." Alyssa said and left.
David gave Dave a push, "Hey, stop playing the lover, it's time to find a new home for you."
Dave stood next to the police car and took another look at his two-story villa. "Please be careful when your colleagues search. I spent a lot of money on decoration."
David smiled, "Don't worry so much, it has nothing to do with you anymore."
…
Dave was taken back to the police detective station for custody.
The on-site investigation continued into the early morning, and the BMW was pulled back to the police detective station.
Tonight, Luke worked overtime for the first time, voluntarily.
After working hard for so many days, when the time comes to show his face, the fool will leave.
At two o'clock in the morning, Luke was sitting in the office and yawning. This period of time was relatively comfortable, and he was not used to working overtime all night.
"Creak..."
The office door was pushed open, and a middle-aged black man wearing a police uniform walked in.
Red Hussein, Deputy Chief of the Detective Bureau and Chief of the Robbery and Murder Division.
Director Rhett put a handbag on the table, "Thank you for your hard work, I brought you a midnight snack."
"Hey, you are so considerate, my stomach has already protested..." Marcus grinned his thick lips and waved his right hand in an attempt to make a fist bump.
Red didn't respond, and Marcus retracted his hand in embarrassment.
"You can take whatever you want, you're welcome." Rhett replied politely, then took out breakfast from the bag and handed it to the deputy, "Your hot dog and skim vanilla latte."
The deputy team leader smiled and said, "Wow, I didn't expect that you still remember it after so many years."
Rhett patted his heart and said, "I remember everything you said."
Luke was also hungry, so he took a donut and a carton of milk.
Rhett took the initiative to say hello, "Luke, I heard that you have done well recently, and you also discovered Dave's clues."
"I just did what I should do. The main thing is you and the captain. The deputy team leader is good."
Rhett was a little surprised and smiled, "Young man has a bright future, I'm optimistic about you."
Director Reid chatted with the team members for a while, without mentioning much about the case. Before leaving, he said to Susan, "Captain, get Dave's confession as soon as possible."
"I will."
After watching the director leave, David curled his lips at Luke, "You are really good at flattering."
"It's called flattery by someone who has no ability. For someone like me who has just made a meritorious service, it's called humility."
David chuckled.
Luke joked, "Should I add you next time? Director, captain, deputy, and Inspector David."
"No, I'm afraid of being laughed to death."
Susan finished her burger, took a sip of coffee, and asked Jenny beside her, "How is Alyssa doing?"
"My body is fine, I'm just frightened and my mood is a little unstable."
"Bring her to the police station and we have to talk to her before interrogating Dave."
“Yes, captain.“
…
An hour later, Alyssa arrived at the robbery and murder department lounge.
Luke and Jenny took notes for her while Susan listened.
Luke briefly introduced himself and said straight to the point, "Alyssa, were you kidnapped by Dave?"
"Yes."
"Does Dave have any other accomplices?"
"Probably not. I've only seen him alone."
"Where's Steven?"
"No, this matter has nothing to do with Steven. He didn't kidnap me."
Susan was a little surprised. The police had previously thought that Steven was absconding out of fear of crime and that he and Dave were accomplices. "Has Dave mentioned Steven?"
Alyssa repeated Dave's words.
After hearing this, the three police officers present were a little surprised.
The real suspect is Dave, and Steven is just a scapegoat who was deceived into lameness.
When Dave was locked in the trunk, it was not a double act between the two of them, but a cruel trick that he directed and performed himself.
After a moment of silence, Luke took out a photo of Tony Weir and asked, "Do you know this man?"
Alyssa looked at it carefully and said, "I don't know him."
"Can you describe what happened when you were kidnapped?"
Alyssa pinched her forehead, "Can I... have some wine?"
"No, it's best to take notes while you're awake." Susan said earnestly, "Alyssa, I know this is difficult and will make you feel painful.
Dave is a lawyer, smart, cunning, and familiar with the process of handling cases.
We must be very careful during the case handling process and cannot make any mistakes, otherwise if Dave catches the loophole, he will probably get away with it."
"You're right, he is a terrible bastard." Alyssa took a deep breath, mustered up her courage, and described the case.
"One time I was performing in a club and Dave saw it and asked me not to continue dancing in the club.
He also promised to give me a large sum of money as long as I resign from the club and leave Steven.
When I didn't agree, Dave got very angry and took photos of me dancing and put them in my parents' house.
We had a big fight.
On the night of March 4th, I finished the performance.
Dave came to me and said he wanted to talk to me, so I got in his car.
He once again asked me to resign and leave Steve, and said he would let me live the life I wanted.
I refused again.
Afterwards, he stunned me with a Taser, and he took me home and imprisoned me in the basement.
I kept begging him to let me go until you rescued me.
Thank you, thank you very much.
If it hadn't been for your timely rescue, I don't know how long I could have persisted." Alyssa couldn't help crying.
Luke wrote down the key points in his notebook, "How do you know it was Dave who put the photos at your parents' house? Did he admit it himself?"
"I guessed it. Who else besides him?"
To be continued...
