Chapter 46 Lawn(1/2)
The next morning.
Luke and Daisy entered the Robbery and Murder Division office together, which inevitably attracted a lot of attention from their colleagues.
"Good morning, guys." Luke greeted, and in order to avoid Daisy being embarrassed, he was going to take her to the lounge.
When I walked to the door of the lounge, I saw a figure moving inside, "Who's in there?"
Jenny sighed, "Steven's mother came here from out of town, and the captain is waiting to receive her."
"OK." Luke led Daisy into the conference room.
"You sit back first and I'll get you a glass of water." Luke patted her on the shoulder and left the conference room.
Marcus complained with a dissatisfied look on his face, "You're such a hateful guy. We stayed up all night investigating the case, but you're so cool."
"What nonsense are you talking about? The task I received last night was to protect Daisy."
Marcus came over with a cup and touched Luke with his shoulder, "Comon, honestly, have you done any exercise?"
Luke looked helpless, "I'm working too."
Marcus smiled evilly and said, "Is there any conflict? We can work together and exercise together."
Jenny curled her lips, "Hey, Marcus, your expression is really disgusting. Even if Luke likes Daisy, he can't do it at this time... it's any different from taking advantage of others."
The deputy said, "I agree with Jenny, Marcus, please be more humane."
Marcus spread his hands, "Why are you targeting me together?"
"Be more humane." Luke finished his sentence and entered the conference room with a water glass.
Daisy looked curious, "What are you talking about outside?"
"They said you are beautiful and complimented my eyesight."
"Have you told them about us?"
"I never said it. But this is the Detective Bureau, and they are the best police officers in Los Angeles..."
Daisy nodded helplessly.
"Creak..."
The door of the conference room opened and Susan walked in from the outside.
"Miss Daisy, I kept you waiting."
Daisy stood up and said, "Captain Susan, thank you for arriving in time last night."
"You're welcome, that's my duty. Please sit down." Susan made a gesture of invitation and said seriously,
"Let me tell you about yesterday's testing. The staff of the Technology Department found a camera in your study. Apart from that, no other surveillance or eavesdropping equipment was found. Biological traces have also been collected. You can return today.
Home."
"Thanks."
"Also, from the angle of the camera, it should be facing the safe. Is there anything valuable in there?"
"There's some jewelry and documents."
"Do you have any suspicion about the person who installed the surveillance?"
Daisy glanced at Luke, saw the other man nodded slightly, and said, "I suspect that the installation of surveillance cameras at home may be related to the robbery on March 2."
"Do you think the last robbery was not an accident? There are other reasons?"
"Yes."
"Is there any basis for this?"
"On March 2, there was an illegal break-in at my law firm's office, followed by a robbery, and the installation of surveillance cameras yesterday. In less than half a month, all these things happened to me. I feel that it is not a coincidence.
explain."
"Has anything like this happened before?"
"No."
"Have you sinned against anyone recently? Or have you obtained some valuable items that attracted the prying eyes of others."
"I am a lawyer, and I am handling a will case at this time. I guess it may be related to this case." Daisy recounted the conversation with Luke last night.
After listening, Susan nodded, "From the perspective of interests, the client's family does have a motive for committing the crime. Can you tell us the name of the testator and the specific contents of the will?"
Daisy was a little embarrassed, "Captain Susan, I am personally willing to assist your company in your work, and I can also provide the name of the client. However, due to professional reasons, I cannot provide the contents of the will for the time being. I am really sorry."
"Nonono, I can understand. If it were me, I would make the same decision." Susan herself likes to talk about systems and rules, so she doesn't think there is a problem with Daisy's approach.
"You provide the client's information, and the police will investigate the relevant situation on their own. As long as there is evidence that your experience is related to the will case, we will apply for relevant procedures to review the contents of the will."
"Captain Susan, thank you for your understanding."
Daisy told the identity of the testator while Luke recorded it.
Half an hour later, Daisy left the Robbery and Murder Department.
Luke put her in the car and asked, "What are your plans for today?"
"I'll go to the law firm to handle some work first. Please clean up in the afternoon, so I'll feel better."
"OK, call me if you need anything."
Daisy tilted her head slightly and smiled, "Can I hit you if you have nothing to do?"
Luke leaned over and kissed her cheek, "Any time."
After watching Daisy leave, Luke was about to go upstairs when his cell phone rang.
"Jingle Bell……"
Luke pressed the answer button, "Wow, Boss Paul, I didn't expect to receive your call."
"Officer Luke, I'm honored that you saved my number."
"Is there a problem?"
"I just want to ask about Alyssa's case. She is an employee of my club. I hope she can return to this big family safely."
"You are a good boss."
"How's Alyssa's situation? Are there any clues?"
"We successfully rescued Alyssa last Saturday and she is in good condition now."
"Wow, you are so awesome. I applaud your detective department. At least you let me know that the club's taxes are not in vain."
"Is this a compliment?"
"Of course, sincerely. Now that Alyssa is fine, I'm relieved. She is a very good employee, and I hope she can come back to work." After Paul finished speaking, he asked, "Is Harry the murderer?"
"No, I can't reveal too much about the case for the time being."
"I understand. I won't disturb your work anymore. Come to the club to play when you have time."
"Is it free?"
"Do you want to see me dance?"
"No."
"Then I wish you a happy consumption in advance, and I will ask the waiter to give you a 20% discount on the drinks."
Luke hung up the phone and said, "What a terrible guy."
…
come back to the office.
Susan called everyone to the conference room for a meeting.
"Everyone is here, let's have a meeting."
Susan glanced at the conference room and continued, "Steven's mother has left. She hopes the police can help find Steven."
The deputy said, "I think Steven should have been killed by Dave and is probably buried in the Gobi."
Susan asked, "Do you have any evidence?"
"I wouldn't sit here if I had evidence." The deputy shrugged, "And Tony, I think he was also killed by Dave."
"Deputy team, you are responsible for the task of finding Steven and Tony." Susan interrupted him and looked at Luke aside,
"Tell me about Daisy's case."
“Daisy was robbed on the night of March 3, and I caught the suspect Tim on the spot. At that time, Tim claimed that he was imitating a ‘Taser robbery’ and Daisy was her temporary target.
In fact, this may not be the case. Someone broke into the office of Daisy's Law Firm on March 2, and coupled with the installation of surveillance cameras last night, it is possible that they are all connected.
Daisy is currently handling a will case, and she speculates that the three cases may be related to the will case."
Later, Luke introduced the situation of the will case and put a piece of information on the projector.
Client information.
