Chapter 49 Friendship(1/2)

 Dean's Office.

"Dong dong..."

Dean Cook frowned slightly. He had a nervous headache and didn't like people knocking hard on the door. He said in a deep voice, "Come in."

"Creak..." The door opened, and two men and one woman walked into the office.

Dean Cook looked puzzled, "You three, what can I do?"

David got straight to the point, "Are you the dean?"

"Cook, just call me by my name."

David showed his police badge and said, "I am Detective David from the Robbery and Murder Division. I am here to investigate a case in your hospital. Can we talk to you?"

"What case?"

"Robbery."

"Are you mistaken? Our hospital has never called the police, nor has anything similar happened."

"Don't talk too much. Although the environment here is good, the people in the ward are not on vacation. Just because they are not in the hospital does not mean they are not there outside."

"OK, tell me why you are here."

"We want to see Lawn Bull's diagnosis report and medical records."

"Do you have a search warrant?"

"No, we are just here to understand the situation and hope you can help."

"We cannot show the patient's diagnosis report and medical records to others before getting the patient's permission. This is the hospital's rule, and I cannot violate it."

"Laun is unconscious. By the time he wakes up, the suspect may have swam across the Pacific Ocean."

"You can ask for the consent of the family members. If they allow it, we are willing to cooperate."

David sat on the chair and leaned forward, "Cook, don't complicate things. Make it easier for others.

We are just asking privately now. If anything happens, we can resolve it privately.

You give me face, and I will give you face.

If you don't agree, the police will have to waste some time at most, and they can still find what they want from other channels.

When we come with the search warrant, everyone will look bad, and we will keep things business-like.

If your hospital is affected by this case, no one can help you.

do you understand me?"

Cook pushed up his glasses, a little embarrassed, "That doesn't comply with the hospital's regulations."

"Rules are dead, people are alive. We can't watch, but you can. After that, we just have to talk like friends. Lapd's friendship is very precious." After David finished speaking, he looked at Daisy aside.

, "Miss Lawyer, is this illegal?"

Daisy frowned slightly, "Theoretically, there is no problem."

"That's enough." David looked at Cook aside, "What do you think? Mr. Dean."

Cook was silent for a moment, "Laun Bull?"

"Yes."

"Please wait a moment, you three." Cook finished his sentence and went out with a cold face.

Luke sat on the black leather sofa and stretched out.

Daisy came over and whispered, "Is this really okay?"

"Is it illegal?"

"No."

"That's enough."

Daisy asked, "Is this how you usually handle cases?"

"Only occasionally." Luke added, "We often deal with suspects who have committed serious crimes, and sometimes we have to be flexible."

Daisy said into Luke's ear, "Should I give your colleague a business card? I think he may need my help in the future. But... wouldn't that be a bit rude?"

"No need for the moment, I will keep an eye on him."

"Isn't he a higher level than you?"

"Even if I can't keep an eye on him, the captain will protect him."

"Captain Susan?"

Luke nodded slightly.

"Creak..." The door opened.

A female nurse came in and poured Luke and the three of them a cup of coffee each.

Then he stood blankly at the door, with no intention of leaving.

About ten minutes later, Dean Cook came back with a sullen face, holding a document in his hand, and motioned to the female nurse to leave first.

David put down the coffee cup, "Dean, thank you for the coffee, can we have a chat?"

Cook's eyes flickered, "Uh...just a private chat between friends?"

"Yes."

Cook asked, "Can I trust our friendship?"

Luke was a little surprised by Cook's question. It sounded a bit fawning. It's impossible for a dean to be intimidated by a detective, right?

has a problem.

David stretched out his right fist and said firmly, "Of course."

Cook hesitated for a moment, then extended his fist to touch it.

This move surprised Luke even more.

Wow, is the detective so awesome? Luke is looking forward to being promoted.

David also saw the problem and urged, "Cook, can you talk? Don't be nervous, just chat."

"I just looked at Lawn Bull's diagnosis report and medical records, and found some problems."

"what is the problem?"

Cook thought for a moment and said, "Laun had a lot of external injuries. The diagnosis report says he fainted and fell, but based on my experience, that may not be the case."

"Based on your experience, how are these injuries caused?"

"Electric shock, beating."

David asked, "In that case, why didn't your hospital call the police?"

"According to the hospital's regulations, generally when encountering this kind of situation, the attending doctor will either report it or call 911..."

"Then why didn't you do it this time?"

"I don't know. Lawn's attending doctor is Brooke. He is relatively young...probably due to lack of experience."

David curled his lips, "It's probably intentional."

Dean Cook pondered for a moment, "Inspector David, you just said that we were just chatting privately... we wouldn't make the matter too big..."

"Yeah, I keep my word and work with others for my own convenience. We won't care about matters that have nothing to do with the case, and we are not interested."

"Thank you." Dean Cook breathed a sigh of relief.

Luke interjected, "Dean Cook, can we see the diagnostic report now?"

"Of course, of course, I am about to call the police on behalf of the hospital and am willing to cooperate with your company." Cook handed the report to Luke with both hands.

Luke took pictures and sent the report to Susan.

She will ask relevant technical personnel to identify it.

Twenty minutes later, Susan called. The forensic doctor speculated through the diagnostic report that the injuries on Lawn's body were caused by defense, and that he might have suffered electric shock and abuse.

With this identification, Luke and David felt confident.

Luke smiled and said, "Mr. Dean, can you borrow the conference room?"

3rd floor, inside Lawn Ward.

Brooke, Caroline, and Sophia were communicating in low voices.

"Dong dong..."

There was a knock on the door outside.

"Come in."
