Chapter 510 Threat(1/2)

The first squadron of the Robbery and Murder Department.

At six o'clock in the evening.

Luke packs his things and gets ready to leave work.

He packed up his things, left the captain's office, and greeted everyone, "Guys, see you tomorrow."

The deputy team leader asked, "Are you sure we'll see you tomorrow? I thought you couldn't wait to take your vacation."

Luke curled his lips, this old man started to bully people again. He didn't even have a wife, so he couldn't spend time looking for a wife. What's wrong with a few more days of rest? What's wrong?

"Dongdong..." There was a knock on the door outside.

"Come in."

"Creak..." There was a sound from the door.

Rhett opened the door and walked in, followed by a white man.

This man is very distinctive. He is tall, has a Chinese character face, and is wearing a crisp black suit, but no matter how he looks at it, he looks a bit out of place.

"Everyone, let me introduce to you. This is Tan Sri Cobbs, Assistant Director of the Department of Homeland Security." Seeing everyone's confused faces, Rhett said to Jenny on the side, "Jenny, please take the lead first."

Assistant Director Cobbs goes to the break room."

"OK.

Sir, come with me." Jenny stood up and led Tan Sri Cobbs into the lounge.

After watching the other person enter the lounge, Luke walked up to Red and asked softly, "Director, what is going on?"

Reid explained, "The Department of Homeland Security has taken over the bombing attack and hopes to obtain the dossier from us."

"Then why didn't you tell me in advance?"

"I didn't expect them to come so quickly."

Luke confirmed, "Do you really want to hand over the dossier?"

Rhett spread his hands.

Luke walked to Jackson's desk, "Make a copy of the file, and then send the original to the break room."

"Okay, Captain."

Rhett glanced at his watch and said, "OK, now that you understand the situation, I'm leaving."

Luke pointed to the lounge, "Won't you help introduce me?"

"I believe... you will get along very well." Rhett's tone was a little weak, and he turned and left the Robbery and Murder Department.

Luke didn't want to do such a thing, so he looked at the deputy team aside and said, "Vice team, I have an appointment later, so I'll leave it to you."

"Don't even think about it. They won't care about a vice-captain. You have to come in person." The vice-captain also seemed to be a little resistant.

No capable police officer is willing to hand over the case he is handling.

The deputy team member refused to help, so Luke had no choice but to enter the lounge to greet him personally.

He pushed open the door of the conference room and said to Tan Sri Cobbs, "Luke Lee, Captain of the 1st Squadron of the Robbery and Murder Division."

Tan Sri Cobbs stood up and shook hands with Luke, "I saw you on the news, Captain Li, you are very photogenic."

Luke shrugged, "Everyone says I'm more stylish in person."

"Maybe." Tan Sri Cobbs shrugged, not wanting to continue this question, and changed the topic, "OK, let's talk about the terrorist attacks."

"What does your Department of Homeland Security know about this case?"

Tan Sri Kobos said, "More than you think."

Luke felt that the other party was bluffing, "For example? Is there something I don't know?"

"Sorry, the Los Angeles Police Department is no longer responsible for terrorist attacks, so there are some situations that I cannot disclose to the public."

"Then do you think there are any accomplices in Tapani Reagan who committed suicide by poisoning?" Luke wanted to test whether he knew about the threatening video this afternoon.

Tan Sri Cobbs thought for a while and said, "The purpose of Tapani Reagan's terrorist attacks was to threaten the American government to release terrorist leaders in the Middle East.

From this point of view, Tapani Reagan should belong to a certain organization, and I would not be surprised at all if he has associates."

Luke was not satisfied with this answer. He felt that Tan Sri Cobbs was beating himself up in circles and was obviously perfunctory.

Luke continued to test, "Do you think Tapani Reagan's associates will continue to cause terrorist attacks?"

"The possibility is very high."

"I killed Tapani Reagan and foiled their plan to blow up City Hall. Do you think they will retaliate against me?"

"I don't know, so it would be wise for the Los Angeles Police Department to withdraw from investigating terrorist attacks early. The top brass of the police department may have considered this reason."

Luke smiled, "Assistant Director Cobbs, it was nice talking to you."

Tan Sri Kobos smiled, "That's what everyone said."

"Creak..." There was a sound from the door.

Jackson opened the door and walked in, "Captain, we've brought the dossier on the terrorist attack on Eucalyptus."

Luke pointed to the opposite side and motioned for him to hand it over to Tan Sri Cobbs.

Tan Sri Cobbs took the information and said to Luke, "I would like to borrow your lounge and read the file first. If you have any questions, you can also ask them in person."

Luke glanced at his watch. There was no problem in borrowing the lounge. "But I have to get off work. If you have anything to do, please call me." Luke stood up and prepared to leave.

Tan Sri Cobbs asked, "Captain Lee, did Tapani Reagan say anything before he died?"

"He said he has an accomplice who is more dangerous than him, so you'd better be careful when investigating."

"Thank you, we will be careful." Tan Sri Cobbs pointed out,

"The same to you."

Luke glanced at him, turned and left.

Milos Bar.

Unlike most noisy bars, this is a tavern on the seaside. There are not many people and there is no loud music. It is more like a place for friends to chat and drink.

When Luke arrived, Inoue Nami was already here.

"This is Captain Li." An exquisite East Asian beauty like Nami Inoue is quite eye-catching in the crowd, and several foreigners glance at her from time to time.

Luke walked over, pulled out a chair and sat across from him, "The environment here is good."

"The wine is also great. If you want to drink something, I'll treat you."

Luke said to the waiter beside him, "A glass of whiskey, thank you."

"Captain Li, how does it feel to be caught?" Nami Inoue asked with a smile. There was no one at the table next to them, so she wasn't worried about being overheard.

Luke recalled, "He was very cunning. He knocked out a patrolman and prepared to escape wearing the patrolman's clothes. He almost let him escape."

Nami Inoue asked, "I heard that he also encouraged a homeless man to shoot you."

"Yes, I was afraid that I would be injured. I hid behind the homeless man's tent. Because he was wearing a police uniform, the homeless man thought he was a police officer. Therefore, the homeless man shot at me under his temptation.

.”

Inoue Nami showed admiration, "Wow, it sounds very exciting. I really wish I was there at the time."

Luke smiled and said, "What would you do if you were there?"

"I haven't thought about it, but at least I won't hold you back."

At this moment, the waiter came over and handed Luke a glass of whiskey.

"Thank you." Luke handed the other party 50 dollars. "It's the cost of the drinks for the two of us, and the rest is your tip."

"Thank you for your kindness, sir." The waiter took some money and left.

Inoue Nami said, "We agreed that I would be the one to treat you today, but you asked me to treat you instead."

"I'm not used to asking women to treat guests, especially beautiful women." Luke raised his wine glass and clinked it with the other party's cocktail glass.

"Then I'll treat you to Japanese food next time."

"You can have this, you must take me to the authentic one." Luke responded with a smile, then put down his glass and said, "Tell me about the threatening video!"

Nami Inoue teased, "Captain Li, didn't you say you have personal matters with me?"

Luke looked around and whispered, "I'm worried that the phone call will be monitored. If there are some secret matters involved in the future, we'd better have an interview."

Nami Inoue took advantage of the situation and said, "In other words, if I have something to do in the future, I can make an appointment with you at any time."

"Of course, you can ask me out for a drink if you have nothing to do."

Inoue Nami's eyebrows rose, "This is a little different from what I imagined."

"What's different?"

"I heard that you were difficult to get along with before, but now that I have actually gotten in touch with you, I realized... you are a nice person."

Luke was a little surprised, "I'm very difficult to deal with. Where do you start talking about this?"
