Chapter 592 Cooperation(1/2)

 Palisades Community.

In the early morning, Luke stood in the spacious and bright kitchen, making breakfast and talking to his father on the phone.

"Dad, have you had breakfast?"

"just eaten.

There is a new breakfast restaurant nearby. The fried pancakes are delicious. I will take you to try it next time you come to New York."

Luke joked, "It's been a long time since I've eaten fried pancakes. What you said made me drool."

"Haha..." Li Zhaofeng smiled and continued, "Yesterday, a new company was registered, called Dias Investment Company.

I’ll send you the equity documents later.”

"Do you need me to go to New York?"

"not needed for now.

Although you are the company's major shareholder, you do not hold a position within the company, so just leave it to me."

"I understand." The father and son chatted for a few words, and then Li Zhaofeng hung up the phone.

Luke's breakfast is almost ready, including fried eggs, bacon, cabbage, toast, coffee, and blueberries.

"Da da……"

There was a sound of footsteps, and Daisy walked down the stairs wearing a white shirt. The shirt belonged to Luke. It was a little fat and could just cover her buttocks. Her long legs were particularly conspicuous.

Luke turned off the heat and put the bacon on the plate, "Hi, beauty, good morning.

I was just about to ask you to have breakfast."

Daisy rolled up her baggy sleeves and said, "I smell the fragrance, do you need my help?"

Luke put the dinner plate on the table and said, "Take the milk and chocolate sauce out of the refrigerator and you're ready to eat."

"OK." Daisy came over with milk and chocolate sauce and sat opposite Luke. "Wow, breakfast is very rich." Daisy picked up a blueberry and put it in her mouth.

Luke smiled and said, "If you don't eat more, you won't be able to hold the gun."

Daisy rubbed her right arm, "Speaking of gun practice, I feel a little sore in my forearm."

"You practiced for too long yesterday, so you have to take your time." Luke handed a piece of bread spread with chocolate sauce to Daisy.

"It's too caloric for me. I just want a slice of bread." Daisy picked up a piece of bread, put a fried egg, bacon and cabbage on it, and took a bite. "It tastes good."

Luke also took a bite of a piece of bread smeared with chocolate sauce and nodded, "The chocolate sauce I bought is very pure, has very little sugar, and is not very high in calories.

Do you want to try it?"

Daisy shook her head and continued the topic, "You know I'm usually very busy at work, so I can't go to the shooting club often, and you're also very busy at work, so you may not have time to teach me.

So, I want to learn to use a gun as soon as possible."

Luke smiled and said, "You are very smart and have basically mastered how to use a pistol, but knowing how to use it does not mean you can use it well. You need to practice regularly.

Sometimes half-assed shooters are more dangerous and may even get themselves killed."

Daisy knew that Luke was doing it for her own good, so she responded, "I listen to you and will practice marksmanship whenever I have time, Coach Li."

"Ding dong..."

Luke's cell phone rang. He opened it and saw that it was a document sent by his father.

After eating, Luke took out the document and asked Daisy to check it for him. There was nothing wrong with the content of the document.

After finishing the business, Luke suggested, "The weather is nice today, let's go to the beach."

Daisy glanced at her watch and said, "I have an appointment with my client this afternoon and I have to go back to the law firm.

However, I will personally cook for you at noon today and make you a delicious meal."

"Sounds pretty good." Luke shrugged, already used to it.

After breakfast, Luke took Daisy to visit the villa and watched a movie in the private theater in the villa.

It was approaching noon, and Daisy went to make lunch.

Luke received an unexpected call, "Hello, Mr. Li.

I am Romitpur.”

"Mr. Bull, what do you want from me?"

This Romit Bull is Luke's new neighbor and the author of the novel "Gone Girl". The two of them had known each other while Luke was investigating a case.

"Captain Li, I don't know when you will have time. I want to visit you."

Although he didn't know the purpose of the other party's visit, considering that they were all neighbors, Luke smiled and said, "I have time this afternoon."

"Is it okay to make an appointment at two in the afternoon?"

"certainly."

"Great, see you in the afternoon." Romitpur said and hung up the phone.

Luke picked up his cell phone and touched his chin. He was also a little curious about what Romitbull wanted to do with him.

Daisy's voice came from the kitchen, "Luke, I need your help. I'm not very good at using your new oven."

Luke smiled, "What a coincidence, I'm not very good at using it either.

I'll get the instructions and we can study it together."

With Luke's help, Daisy successfully completed lunch.

American dishes are all similar, of course, there are some differences in taste.

Daisy can't cook many dishes, but they taste pretty good.

Especially the fried cod, which has crispy skin and tender meat and retains the deliciousness of the fish, is Luke's favorite.

There was also a mushroom soup, which Luke had for the first time and it suited his taste very well.

With such a good dish, how could you not drink some wine? Luke opened a bottle of red wine and drank most of it himself.

The only regret was that Daisy had to meet her client in the afternoon, so he could only drink alone.

After the meal, the two of them rested for a while, and Daisy went to work at the law firm.

Two o'clock in the afternoon.

Luke welcomed another guest, Romit Bull.

Luke welcomed him into the courtyard, and the two sat in the small garden drinking tea and chatting.

Romitbull put down his tea cup and asked, "Captain Li, I heard that you were also responsible for investigating the arson case in Mogaro Forest Park?"

Luke handed the other party a huazi, lit one himself and said with a smile, "That's right, Writer Boole, you are very well-informed."

"As a mystery novel writer, I need to constantly look for new themes and inspiration.

It’s hard not to pay attention to the largest fire in Los Angeles in recent years.”

Romitable lit the cigarette, took a puff, then picked up the cigarette and looked at it, "What kind of cigarette is this? It smells weird when smoked."

"A kind of Chinese cigarette, it tastes good once you get used to smoking it."

Romitbull blew out a smoke ring and said, "I heard that three bodies were found at the fire scene. Can you tell me about this arson case?"

Luke shook his head, "Sorry, this case is still confidential, at least for the time being I can't say too much."

"I understand, it's a bit presumptuous of me to ask this.

But you know, I'm working on a novel with a police officer as the protagonist, and I need a lot of material."

Luke suggested, "As far as I know, there are many murder documentaries on the Internet. You can check them out. It may be helpful for your new book."

"You don't need to say that.

I have watched every murder documentary I can find, and many of them have been adapted into novels or TV series and are now in disuse.

I want to write something different, a great work that can rival Sherlock Holmes." Romitbull spoke in a high voice, showing a yearning look.

"This is an ambitious goal. How can I help you?"

"You know, I am also a best-selling author, I am somewhat famous, and I am not short of money, but this is far from enough.

I hope that I can become a great writer like Conan Doyle, and that my works can be popular around the world and be passed down forever.

But it's not easy.

It’s difficult, very difficult.”

Luke guessed, "You hope that I can provide some real cases to obtain creative materials and inspiration."

"Yes, this is indeed one of the purposes of my coming today."

"What's the other purpose?"

"I told you the last time I attended the party that I hope to write a detective novel based on you and shape you into the American Sherlock Holmes.
