Section 29: Thought is a Power
Before seeing the spiritual furnace with one's own eyes, everyone's fantasies about it were different.
Some people imagine it as a huge furnace, some people imagine it as an extremely complex horizontal mechanical engineering, and some people imagine it as a huge energy fusion core. But in fact... they all thought it wrong.
What appeared before them... was a cemetery.
Endless cemetery.
I saw a circular square at the end of the passage, dense coffins were arranged in a circular shape, linked by countless pipelines. The pipelines were concentrated on a huge disc-shaped object in the center of the square, and strong energy fluctuations were constantly emitted.
Silence, absolutely silence. They could not hear anything except the sizzling sound of the arc.
The entire square is surrounded and protected by silence. In this silence, countless coffins are quietly placed, layer by layer, like scales.
"Too many..." An expedition member swallowed and said with difficulty.
"Yes, too many." Another team member was stunned and almost moaned.
If it weren't for seeing it with your own eyes, no one would have thought that there would be so many coffins here. If it were said to be coffins.
Dangerous arcs were jumping in the air, and only their location was safe. Following the passage and the expedition team approached the coffins little by little. Finally, they arrived in front of a divided 'cemetery'. Bent over, and they saw the scene in a coffin.
It was a skeleton's face, looking at them through a transparent window on the coffin, with no eyeballs in their shriveled sockets.
"Wow!" an expedition member shouted and staggered back.
"There are really dead!"
"Oh my God, it's all, it's in every coffin!"
"How could this happen to my God?"
The team suddenly exclaimed, and everyone could not believe the scene they saw. They checked each coffin, but the result was without exception. A skeleton lay in each coffin, looking at them with their black eye sockets. When they looked at the cemetery in the distance, everyone changed their faces.
If... this is true, wouldn't it mean that this endless cemetery is buried with countless dead people?
And this is the true meaning of the spiritual furnace?
But what does it generate energy? How does it operate?
Chen Yan remembered a movie called "The Matrix" he had watched in the main material world, and there was a scene similar to this. But he didn't think it was the same as in the movie. Because bioelectricity alone could not generate such a huge amount of energy. The spiritual furnace must have other ways of operating.
"Sure enough, the legend is true." Kendick's voice came from beside him. Chen Yan turned around and happened to see the nervous old man.
Kendick was a little different from when he first came, with less excitement and more confusion. He bent down, carefully examined each coffin, and then closed his eyes in pain.
"They are all humans from the last era."
"It must be." Chen Yan said. "But what are they lying here for? Is this really a cemetery?"
"Of course not." Kendick slowly opened his eyes, his eyes full of pity and sorrow. "But dreaming."
"dream?"
"A new energy generation mode." Kendick pointed to the head. "Study shows that human thought activities emit a large number of radio waves. When exposed to the outside, it is the form of brain waves. But if you can go deep into the field of thought and spirit for direct extraction, it will be a geometric multiple increase."
"A person's mind and spirit are fully developed and can even maintain an energy supply in a block until death."
"This is impossible." Chen Yan said without hesitation. This is inconsistent with the knowledge he received, especially the knowledge from the main material world.
"Thoughts are a kind of power," Kendick said suddenly. "Do you still remember this sentence?"
In the world, the power of thought is boundless. Demons need it, and humans need it too. But no one can really control it. If someone can control this power, then he will no longer be a human..."
Kendick's eyes looked at the cemetery in the distance under the darkness. "It's God."
"……………” Chen Yan fell silent and was shocked by the meaning of Kendick's words.
Yes, he had long thought about the operating mode of the spiritual furnace, but never thought it was so cruel and amazing. Thoughts were a force. Can thoughts really be transformed into energy and into great power that even demons must fear? When nothingness turns into reality, is human beings taking a taboo path?
"Look at this." Kendick crouched down and used his portable butler to link an instrument next to the 'coffin', and then extracted it for a while.
"At this time, an adult man of the last three thousand years of age, was placed in the energy warehouse since he was infancy, and all energy intake was supplied by the energy warehouse. He dreamed under a unified hypnotic system until he died. He generated hundreds of billions of Castons of spiritual power, which was enough to destroy a city."
"Just one person?"
"Yes." Kendick stood up. "And there are thousands of people here. They are the confidence of humans in the last era.
"It's a pity that as fuel, they don't know that they have been living in their dreams."
At the end of his speech, Kendick's tone was sighing. He seemed to be regretting his fellow tribes in the last era, and also seemed to be proud of them.
But it was too late to say anything at this time. The humans of the last era were destroyed by their own hands. Isn’t they driven by their own power? When the power loses its bondage, they will overcome reason frantically. Then the destruction will fall from the sky, like a God’s punishment.
Human beings have embarked on the forbidden path, and perhaps it was a mistake from the beginning.
"Come on, let's get to work hard and try to return to the camp early." Kendick said loudly to his subordinates. "This is a big discovery, enough to keep us in history. Everyone is energetic."
"Yes!" The expedition members responded loudly, and their morale increased a lot.
Chen Yan calmly retreated behind him and silently looked at the vast cemetery under his feet. At this time, his mind was a little confused, and he didn't know what he was thinking, but he felt that everything was in a daze. He lowered his head and looked at the corpse in a coffin at his feet. The corpse's eyes were also looking at him, as if he was smiling.
"Do you... know that you have lived?"
“Really lived?”
He asked the corpse like this, as if he was asking himself.
"If falsehood becomes true, are you willing to die in falsehood and be reborn in truth?"
"What's the point of being true or false?"
"Where is true, where is false?"
Chen Yan said to himself, and before he knew it, he was stunned.
In this state, he did not notice that the three demons in the team had arrived at the center of the square at some point in front of the huge disc-shaped object... (To be continued.)
