144 Jack Black

It has to be admitted that since the right to direct photography to Jack, the filming of "Rush Hour" has been very fast, and it was approaching its end in less than thirty days.

At the beginning, the crew filmed step by step, and on the third day after the start of the filming, the first fight finally ushered in.

According to the plot, Jack Cheng needs to deal with seven or eight people in a bar between three pool tables.

Since the plot setting these guys who "unfortunately" fell into "Jack Become a Happy House" are all Americans, so they cannot use the "Home-Caring Martial Arts" who cooperate with Jack Become more tacitly, but are composed of some ordinary American actors who do not have much experience in action scenes.

That was the first time that Jack Cheng, who was an action director, had a fierce conflict with the photography director. The stubborn photography director believed that Jack Cheng was directing blindly, and Jack Cheng felt that the photography director could not shoot action scenes at all.

Director Brett Ratner is a complete newcomer. He has only directed an unsuccessful movie. The first time he encountered this situation, he was an idol who had to work hard to get a chance to cooperate, and the other was an experienced photography director introduced by his teacher Martin Scorsese.

He is not right on either side!

At this time, he wanted to find the producer and "big boss" Bai Quinn, but the two guys disappeared at the critical moment.

In fact, when Bai Quinn saw that the momentum was wrong, he pulled William, who was planning to step forward to rescue the siege, and ran away. He wanted Brett to resolve the conflict himself.

After watching the crew for three days, Bai Quinn naturally discovered the tension between the "Family Class" and the "Hollywood Locals". Fortunately, other departments, especially the photography team closely related to action scenes, are the line of conflict.

The problem will break out sooner or later!

If he suppresses himself with his identity as the boss of the investor, it will actually cause trouble. It is better to see how the director solves the problem first.

In the end, Brett Ratner chose a method that was not the best but was the most beneficial for shooting. He supported Jack Cheng, and the photography director was so angry that he left.

Therefore, Jack Cheng could only serve as a photography supervisor in addition to his job as an action coach, directing the camera in poorly fluent English, moving around in the small bar, and taking his ideal picture.

After the bar fight is completed, Bai Quinn and executive producer William, who do not need to appear in this scene, appearing quietly, and ignore the absence of the photography director.

From then on, Jack Cheng truly seized the right to direct photography.

Mobilizing the camera in Jack's more familiar way will make the movie's "Hong Kong flavor" stronger, but Bai Quinn thinks, why not? This is great! American audiences need some new things.

In the past two days, we have been night scenes in Chinatown, Los Angeles. The management committee and businesses of Chinatown heard that Jack Cheng was going to film here, so they actively cooperated and contributed their efforts. Not only did they help block the streets, but they also brought a lot of drinks and food to the crew.

I just finished filming a big fight scene in a restaurant. The props team needed to reorganize the layout of the store. It took me half an hour to shoot it, commonly known as "guaranteed one".

Bai Quinn can take the opportunity to rest for half an hour in the lounge provided by Chinatown management committee members.

The so-called lounge is just a single room of a chess and card room. It is temporarily released and free for the crew to use. It is just a bamboo lounge chair more than usual. Judging from the patina of the recliner armrests, this thing is quite old and may be the favorite thing of the owner of the chess and card store.

As soon as Bai Quinn was released, a noise came from outside the door.

After a while, Hannah, with a hooded hood, popped in and said, "There is a little fat man who wants to see you. He was hired by Sayed before and worked as a screenwriter for this movie."

Bai Quinn waved his hand and signaled someone to come in.

The person who came was very distinctive. He was obviously a fat man, but he had a big beard and shoulder-length hair, which was quite rock-shaped.

"Blake...Blake...?"

Bai Quinn recognized the person.

"Yes, I'm Jack Black, it's rare that you still remember me."

"What are you looking for me?"

Bai Quinn speculated that this person must have been brought to the question of adapting the script of "Rush Hour".

According to the agreement between Wademark Image and Brett Ratner and New Line Film, which was responsible for the release, there will be two screenwriters who will have the right to sign, one is the original screenwriter Ross Ramanner and the other is Said.

As for other screenwriters who have participated in script compilation or revision, they will receive certificates issued by the crew. With this certificate, they can earn 8 points from the screenwriters union.

Generally speaking, it takes 24 points to obtain the qualification of a new screenwriter to join the club, and one signed theater movie can be collected.

If you have a certain level of points, you can also participate in the annual screenwriter union selection award. Higher points are also the stepping stone to get work and bargaining chips for negotiating remuneration with investors.

Did Jack Black ask for the right to sign?

Bai Quinn was really unwilling to wipe Said's butt, even though the relationship between them was so good that they could wear a pair of pants.

"There is something you may not know. QB, your lines are actually written by me. The two friends of Said mainly directed Craig and me to work, and then picked out grammar and spelling errors. I was responsible for the dialogue between the lines, and Craig was responsible for the background and plot settings of the characters..."

At this point, it is the same as Bai Quinn's speculation.

Wademark image paid Said the cost of adapting the script. How does Said's team allocate work and how to distribute compensation? Logically speaking, Bai Quinn should not interfere.

Bai Quinn planned to listen to Jack Black's request, then casually say a few words, send the person away, and then let Said deal with the trouble he caused.

Therefore, he acted calmly, nodded slightly, let out a soft hum, and signaled Black to continue.

"I waited until most of the filming was going on before I came to find your... QB, what do you think the lines I wrote? Does it fit your wishes?"

This is also expected. If he breaks up in advance, Said may even risk delaying the shooting and delete the part he wrote. In this way, as long as Black's contribution does not reach a certain share, even if he sues, he will not be able to obtain the support of the judge.

But when the filming is over halfway, will Wademark's image be willing to waste the films he had taken before just to prevent a small screenwriter from obtaining the signature rights?

"good……"

Bai Quinn gave a relatively pertinent evaluation. At least Bai Quinn, who turned into a "laughter", thought the lines were pretty good from a "professional" perspective.

Black said excitedly, "I knew you know comedy!"

Just a compliment for not having money, that's it?

Black's reaction was beyond Bai Quinn's expectations.

"Thank you, QB, but I always feel that I'm more suitable to perform on stage in person than to hide behind the scenes as a screenwriter. By the way, I forgot to say that I've actually played guest roles in several TV series, and some small-cost movies...

I love acting more than screenwriter work!”

"so what?"

Bai Quinn was a little impatient. This guy didn't play by the routine!

"I joined Said's team just to make some money. In the past, I used to participate in screenwriters, and I used a pseudonym, called Jay Booles, and the abbreviation was also **. Sorry, I said it was off topic... I mean, I was not interested in signing or not, as long as my reward was in place, and Said is famous for being generous...

Sorry, I'm off topic again! I'm prone to chaoticism when I'm nervous...

I mean, when I was in the office, I heard that Wademark Image will shoot a comedy film, written and directed by the Farrely Brothers of "Ah Du and Agua". I am a very good comedian. I am naturally good at making people laugh. I am also good at writing talk show lines and comedy scripts. I am also an excellent live host...

I said so much, just hope you can give me a chance to compete for the male lead in that movie!”

Bai Quinn finally understood Jack Black's intention. He wanted to compete for the male lead in "I'm crazy for Mary", but it may be a matter of qualifications. He was eliminated by the casting director early.

Now that the casting work of that movie has been halfway through, the main voice is in the hands of the Fareley brothers. Although Bai Quinn also interfered in the selection of the male and female protagonists, he recommended Irving Wilson and Charlize Theron.

But whether the two can finally get the role is not something that Bai Quinn can decide in one sentence.

Even Harvey did not suppress Matt Damon in the casting of "The Mind Catcher" and let him choose Ross McGowan.

If you do something like forcing the designation of the protagonist, it will be too bad.

It is precisely because of its good reputation that the Fareley brothers rejected the cooperation conditions of 20th Century Fox and chose Wademark Image.

Bai Quinn learned from Lina, who had been quietly following the crew progress, that the Farreley brothers liked Irving Wilson very much, but they had little expectations for Charlize Theron.

According to what Bob Farrely said to his friends in private, he thought Theron was too beautiful and lacked affinity. Comedians first wanted to make people look happy instead of wanting to take off their pants.

In order to get Charlize Theron to win, Bai Quinn needs to take the game off the table.

Just like Harvey's means of squeezing out strong Walt.

I also need to have a little bit of care and make a mistake. I don’t have the ability to care about anything else. Even Irving Wilson and Bai Quinn don’t plan to care about it.

Therefore, judging from the current situation of Bai Quinn, the little fat man named Jack Black has little hope. He satisfied the Farreley brothers' setting for the ordinary male protagonist. Perhaps the sense of comedy is enough, but it lacks competitiveness and has no successful works to support him.

Even if Bai Quinn throws him into the audition session, he will still be defeated.

"I can recommend you, but I can't guarantee..."

Seeing that Jack Black wrote a good line, Bai Quinn could help him with a simple task and recommend him to the audition, but he could not come forward to support him. This was ahead of him.

"Thank you! Thank you, QB, that's enough, I'll try to get that character."

Jack Black didn't seem to have expected Bai Quinn to agree so readily, and his round face smiled and looked a little more round.
