This place is enshrined with statues of Taoji monks, which are commonly called Jigong. According to legend, Jigong was born in the 18th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1148 AD) and died in the second year of Jiading (1209 AD) and was a Zen monk. When he was born, he happened to encounter the 17th Arhat statue (Dragon-subduing Arhat Hall) in the Arhat Hall of Guoqing Temple, people called Jigong a reincarnation.
In front of the statue, a young lady was kowtowing to the monk Daoji. The huge bronze statue emitted a dim golden light in the incense hall. The lady kowtowed three times, and opened her eyes when she stood up. Looking at the bronze statue, the bronze statue was not as ferocious as other arhats. On the contrary, the bronze statue had a peaceful face. Jigong held a palm fan in his hand, with a pleasant face, his curved eyebrows and wrinkles on his face because of his smile made the bronze statue look lifelike.
The lady stood up, with slender willow-leaved eyebrows, long and upright pair of almond eyes embedded in a fair melon-shaped face, tied with a long ponytail, and a tall and thin figure. The girl is called Bai Meng. She is twenty-two years old this year, a senior graduate from a well-known university in Beijing. She took advantage of the summer vacation to come to West Lake to play with relatives. She grew up listening to her father telling the story of Jigong. When she passed by Lingyin Temple, she heard that the bronze statue of Jigong was enshrined here and ran in to find out.
The cousin Bai Yu followed her and stood aside and waited for her disgust, "You are so strange. What are you doing if you don't worship a crazy monk over there?"
Bai Meng smiled at the bronze statue, and his deep and charming eyes smiled, "Look at how realistic this statue of Ji Xixiu monk is, and it is vivid. What's wrong with me worshiping you?"
Bai Yu was even more impatient and gave her sister a look of evil, "I've been begging you, why don't you leave?"
Bai Meng looked around and suddenly saw a monk in a cloth dress sitting on the incense table at the door, with a sign on the table.
"I'm going to draw a lottery," Bai Meng's eyes were attracted to him and said, walking towards the incense table.
The young monk sitting upright and chanting with his eyes closed, looked only seventeen or eighteen years old, young and handsome, Bai Meng looked at him with a smile, "Little Master, I want to draw a lottery."
Hearing the sound of the beautiful girl as crisp and beautiful as the sound of nature, the monk opened his eyes and saw the beautiful white mist like a fairy. His cheeks immediately flushed, and then lowered his head, "Shi, donor, please give me."
Bai Meng pursed her lips, and her delicate face looked like a picture-like smile.
Bai Meng has such a kind of demonic aura. Perhaps because of his rare beauty, perhaps not just because of his appearance, but just his frown and smile, his eyes flowing or his look back sideways, all reveal a charming temperament that ordinary people can never possess.
Of course, this is also what my sister hates her. Why did the blood of the same surname Bai and the same family produce such a feminine and charming white mist, but she is so ordinary?
Bai Meng shook the signboard and heard the sound of bamboo sticks bumping in the signboard until a bamboo stick fell out. Bai Meng picked it up and looked at the Guanyin spiritual sign on it, "Mengchangjun's chicken crowed to pass the pass."
Bai Meng didn't understand the literal meaning of the signature, so he turned to smile and looked at the little monk who was still lowering his head, "Little Master, what does this signature mean?"
The little monk's voice was still cowardly, "I, I can't solve it, what is the donor asking?"
Bai Meng looked at the little monk's clean forehead and felt condescending, "Then why can't you solve it and sit here?"
Bai Meng's unique voice sounded coquettish, but were there too many artificial complaints? When the little monk heard it, his face turned redder. Bai Meng laughed in his heart. This little monk was too simple. The more shy he was, the more he was, the more he was tempted to make fun of him.
Bai Yu, who was waiting beside him, couldn't stand it anymore, so he walked over and said, "Hey, it's almost done. Are you asking for the Guanyin Spirit Sign up?"
"I'll ask someone to ask about marriage," Bai Meng blinked her charming eyes and became more and more beautiful. Bai Yu couldn't help but sigh, "Then you play for yourself, I'm going back to have a meal."
Bai Meng nodded with a smile, "Then you go back, I want to take a walk." As he said that, he was about to leave with the signature, the little monk found the bamboo stick in her hand and hurriedly called her, "Donor, my signature--"
Bai Meng turned her head and smiled. The beautiful smile made the little monk's cheeks flushed, and immediately rushed up again.
"You said this signature is yours, but you can't solve it. I want to ask about marriage, what does this signature mean? If you can't answer, I will take the signature away."
The little monk blushed, "I, I can solve it."
"Oh?" Bai Meng walked up to him with a smile, "Then, how is this signature explained by the little master?" It was still the charming voice, coupled with Bai Meng's delicate face and agile temperament. The little monk lowered his head and did not dare to raise his eyes. "This, this signature is Mengchangjun's rooster crowing to pass the pass, and the moon is on the east side, and the clouds cover half of the moon in an instant. Don't say that when it is round, you still have to teach the shortcomings to be repeated. What the donor wants is-"
"Marriage." Bai Meng continued without waiting for the little monk to finish his words.
The little monk nodded, "This signature means, it means..."
"Let me solve it." A low male voice interrupted him. Bai Meng was stunned for a moment. Following the sound, a monk in green clothes walked not far away. The monk was not wearing a monk's robe, dressed in a short dress, carrying two buckets. He was about forty years old. The wrinkles on his vicissitudes of life were the mark left by time, deep and full. The old monk put down the wooden bucket, the young monk put down the signature and looked at the old monk, "Master Jiats."
The monk with the Dharma name Keats came over and almost two people stood side by side in front of the tall Bai Meng. Bai Meng looked at the old man in surprise. His resolute face was purely aura that only in Buddhism could he have without asking about the world for many years.
Bai Meng looked at the old man's deep black eyes, and the old man also looked at her firmly. The outstanding Bai Meng was used to the side of others, but she had never had such a look. It was a thorough and unrefined look that she had never known each other but understood. It was so complicated that Bai Meng felt a strange feeling in her heart. She immediately escaped the old man's eyes and believed that she was defeated.
The old man picked up the signature from the table, "Guanyin spiritual signature, Mengchangjun's rooster crows through the gate, the donor asks about marriage?"
Bai Meng nodded, "Master, how can I explain this signature?"
Monk Keats looked at her calmly, "This is the sign of the moon being covered by clouds. It means everything. It is temporarily and conservative. Wait for the time being. You are old in your early years. When you don't meet everything, you will finally be able to reach a good situation. If you work hard for many years, you will finally be able to achieve good situations. Everything goes well. Good times are imminent. I wish you do more good deeds. That is, you will accumulate virtue and make the heavenly magnanimity. You are now the floating clouds covering the moon without doubt. You will have to wait until the clouds open and see the bright moon."
Bai Meng shook her head, "It's just not good?"
The old man glanced at him and said, "Sometimes, the signing documents need to be understood according to the time and the person."
Bai Meng showed her iconic charming smile, and the old man was still calm, "Why should Master Yi explain this letter of my signature?"
The old monk picked up the bucket and walked towards the backyard. Bai Meng didn't know why he immediately chased after him and followed the old man without asking a word.
Somehow he walked around to a quiet villa. Bai Meng looked around, "There is also such villa in Lingyin Temple, and it doesn't look like a reconstruction at all."
The old man walked in front and still said nothing. Bai Meng followed him, and there was a Buddhist temple in front, with an empty plaque hanging on the door. The old man walked in, and Bai Meng followed him.
When I walked into the Buddhist temple, I found that there were no Buddha statues here, but more like a room where a monk lived.
"Master, do you live here?"
Monk Keats turned his head and said, "I have lived here for many years." He lit three incense sticks to offer it to the incense altar, but there was neither Buddha statue nor Guanyin on the incense altar, but it was a formless platform.
"Who is here for offering?" Bai Meng walked over and asked.
"The Buddha also worships without form in his heart."
"Master, I am really pious, but Master, haven't you told me the meaning of the Guanyin Spirit Sign?"
The old monk put down the incense, "The donor's marriage is not bad, but the time is not right."
Bai Meng turned around and thoughts floated out. How could Bai Meng, who had an outstanding appearance since childhood, not have a good marriage? She has been pursuing her for a few years ago, and has been bored with marriage. The endless pursuits are like hungry flies, taking turns to attack around a piece of fragrant cake. No matter how she drives her away, she can't be quiet. Perhaps men are sensory, and women with beautiful appearance are their real principles for choosing a partner, even if this woman is dirty.
"The relationship you are obsessed with now does not belong to you." The old monk said to himself. This reminder was like a thunderbolt, which made Bai Meng wake up suddenly. She suddenly turned around and looked at the old man. "Why not give up?"
