Chapter six hundred and forty-fourth life-saving fish

The Grand Master Guan was a corrupt official with public grievances. He heard that it was a case of "a lot of money", so he immediately sent someone to arrest Jianchang in the yamen for interrogation.

Jianchang denied that there was any stealing, and under severe torture, he had to tell the story of the beads.

When the official heard this, he felt immediately energetic and insisted on Jianchang handing over the beads.

He immediately asked the thugs to pick out the beads from Jianchang's mouth, but when the thugs grabbed Jianchang, Jianchang secretly called "The beads to help me", and the thugs were all over the place.

When Master Guan saw this, he thought that the eel bead was really a magical object. Only by killing Jianchang could he get the eel bead. So he slapped the gavel and shouted angrily: "Turn this troublemaker into the death row, and the Dharma will be rectified at three o'clock tomorrow!"

Jianchang was locked in a dead cell and kept thinking in his heart that he didn't know if Cangzhu could help him escape this disaster.

At midnight, a voice softly said in his ear: "Brother Jianchang, don't be afraid, I'm a cricket dragon, now I've become a green dragon. Tomorrow, when you see two bamboo shoots appearing on the ground in front of you, you should quickly grab the bamboo shoots and don't let go. Then don't be afraid of anything happening: your mother and wife are safe, don't worry." Jianchang felt a little at ease after hearing this.

The next day, Jianchang was pulled to the execution ground of the yamen and kneeled, and two executioners held bright big swords waiting on both sides.

"It's already three o'clock!" The executioner shouted, and the official raised the gavel and was about to take a picture, but the earthquake occurred.

Two bamboo shoots suddenly appeared on the ground in front of Jianchang. Jianchang hurriedly stretched out his hands to grab the bamboo shoots. Then, the ground cracked, and water emerged from the crack, and the water became larger and larger.

In the steaming water vapor, a green dragon rose into the air with Jianchang and flew westward: the entire execution ground, the yamen was soon flooded by heavy water and sank to the bottom of the water, and it turned into a vast ocean.

This is the legend about the formation of Qionghai. It is said that on a night when the moon is bright and the wind is clear, if you take a boat to the center of Qionghai, you can see the city under the sea.

Today's city was called Jianchang a long time ago, and it was named after him, aiming to advocate the quality of Jianchang's hardworking, kindness and filial piety.

In order to commemorate the spirit of punishing evil and promoting good and helping the weak and helping the poor after the cricket and eel dragon became a Qinglong dragon, people built Qinglong Temple on the east coast of Qionghai. There are statues of Qinglong in this temple, and the incense is constantly on the rise every year.

There was a village in which there was a rich man named Yun. There were more than 200 people in the village, all of whom were tenants from Yun Qianzhu’s family.

This year, there was a severe drought in the local area. There was a large pond in front of the rich man Yun’s house. The water level had never dropped for decades, but now it is almost bottoming out.

The rich man Yun was worried and ran to the backyard to discuss with the old housekeeper.

The old housekeeper is ninety years old and helps the Yuncaizhu family to play for three generations. Now he has no business anymore and is worshipped by the Yun family as his ancestor.

When something big or difficult happens, the rich man Yun will ask him for advice.

After hearing the words of the rich man Yun, the old butler opened his half-closed eyes and said, "I'll go and take a look."

He stood by the pond with a cane, looked for a while, sighed to the sky, and said to the rich man Yun: "Eighty years ago, this pond was also used once, and many people starved to death that year. It seems that there is a famine again, so we have to be prepared now."

When he returned to the backyard, the old housekeeper told the rich man Yun: After the pond is bottomed, people are not allowed to go down to catch fish in the pond. Fish and water are the wealth of the Yun family, and people cannot destroy Feng Shui.

After a few days, the pond really saw the bottom, and there seemed to be a layer of dark clouds at the bottom of the pond, rolling and surging. After a closer look, it turned out that there were iron catfishes ranging from rulers to countless.

After hearing the news, the villagers all came. At this moment, every household in the village was short of food. Seeing the fish that was within reach, everyone wanted to catch them, but Yun Qianzhu had already arranged several servants to guard the pond.

Everyone could only look at it and secretly scolded Yun Qianzhu for not being a human being.

Two days later, there was no drop of water left in the pond, leaving only a dense layer of dead fish.

The old housekeeper came out and looked at it, and said to the rich man Yun: "It may be unlucky to die at the bottom of the pond. It must be cleaned up, so let everyone pick it up."

Only then did the rich man Yun do good deeds and allowed the villagers to go to the pond to pick up dead fish.

But the dead fish failed to give the villagers a few meals. Soon, every household had no food and had to borrow it from Yun Qianzhu's family.

Yun Qianzhu is very careful in his calculations, so he will naturally not miss this profitable opportunity. If you borrow a liter of grain, you will have to pay one and a half liters next year, and the interest rate is terrifyingly high.

Everyone knew that Yun Qianzhu took advantage of the situation, but they had no choice but to grit their teeth and borrow it home to survive.

Half a month passed in a flash, and seeing the villagers coming to borrow grain every day, Yun Qianzhu was heartbroken. It was not a solution to borrow like this!

He frowned and tripled the interest rate, hoping to make the villagers give up with the difficulties.

Now everyone couldn't help it and surrounded Yun Qianzhu and scolded him for being heartless.

The noise outside alarmed the old butler in the backyard. He called Yun Qianzhu in and advised: "Now that there is a famine. If you don't borrow food, they can only escape from the famine."

"My grandfather!" Yun Qianzhu said with a bitter face: "Who knows when this disaster year will come to an end? More than 200 people in the village rely on me to support me. Isn't this small family business eaten up by them?"

The old housekeeper pondered: "You can't say that. Everyone has gone to flee the famine. It's hard to say whether they can come back alive. Who will help you grow grain and who will go with your debt?"

The rich man Yun was speechless for a moment and could only rub his hands and sigh. The old housekeeper continued, "Now there is a mess outside, and it is another disaster, so even the king's law is not very effective. If a person is hungry, can he still control the king's law and criminal law?"

When Master Yun heard this, he couldn't help but look at the old housekeeper anxiously and asked, "Then, what should I do?"

"The grain must be borrowed first." said the old housekeeper, "I don't think I don't want the interest."

Don't have interest? Yuncai opened his mouth. The old butler then expressed his thoughts and asked the villagers to dig the silt in the pond to offset the interest. Doing so can clear the pond; secondly, the silt is a good fertilizer and wall-building material, which can be stored and reserved; thirdly, the villagers must be grateful to Yuncai and no longer covets the Yun family.

After hearing this, Yun Qianzhu felt sorry for the free food he had lent out, but he could only do this with a tough bullet.

So he went out and told each family to send a strong laborer to dig pond mud, borrowing one liter of rice every day, regardless of interest.

When the villagers heard this, they were naturally happy.

The Yun family's pond had already cracked and the mud was as hard as stones. When you pried a stick into the crack, you could find a large piece.

The old butler stood by the pond and told everyone to move the silt back to their homes and pile it up before sending it to the Yun family when they need it.

This pond is four or five acres wide. It took us more than twenty days to clear the silt. Every household's yard was filled with silt like a hill.

Each family in the village sent only one person to work, and the others went to the mountains to find wild vegetables. When they came back, they added some rice and cooked it. There was still a lot of borrowed rice left. Of course, everyone was very grateful to Yun Qianzhu.

After the mud was dug, the villagers were indeed thinking about the good things about Yun Qianzhu. They didn't come to borrow food from him and only rely on the saved food to survive, which made Yun Qianzhu breathe a sigh of relief.

A few days later, the old housekeeper asked Yun Caizhu: "Is there anyone in the village to borrow food from you?" Yun Caizhu shook his head.

The old housekeeper sighed: "They should have eaten up all the food. If they don't come to borrow food from you, it seems that they are planning to escape from the famine."

The rich man Yun said with a sad face: "Just run away, I can't take care of so much." The old butler sighed and walked back to the backyard.

That night, the Yun family's door was knocked open with a "bang" and a group of open and fire-ridden robbers rushed in.

The robber leader claimed that they were from the mountain a hundred miles away. Because the food was too short on the mountain, he ran here not far away.

They only rob food and do not harm human lives, but if they dare to resist, they will be destroyed.

After saying that, the robbers swept away all the food that the Yun family could eat and left overnight.

Yun Qianzhu sat on the ground and sighed to the sky: "God, how did you let me live?"

The old housekeeper came over to comfort him, and the rich man Yun smiled bitterly and said, "I really didn't expect that my Yun family will also go to escape from the famine!"

The old butler sighed: "Don't worry, there is no way out, we have not reached that point yet."

Yun Caizhu cried, "Now that there is no grain in the family. Even if you hide some money, where can you buy grain?"

The old butler looked up at the sky and said, "It's dawn, I'll go to the village with you to see."

The two of them slowly walked into the village and found that every household was packing their luggage, and it seemed that they were preparing to go out to escape.

A villager glanced at Yun Caizhu and said, "We originally wanted to borrow some more grain from our boss, but our boss didn't have much grain."

Yun Qianzhu said with a bitter face: "To be honest, a group of robbers came to my family last night and snatched all the food. Now I can only go to flee with everyone."

I heard that the Yun family was robbed, so everyone ran out of the house.

The old butler said tremblingly: "Friends, don't leave! The old saying goes, things are precious when they leave their hometowns, but people are cheap when they go out. If they go out, they will never come back. We will die in the land of our ancestors even if we die!"

An elderly villager said, "Old butler, we don't want to leave either, but we can't starve to death here."

Other villagers also agreed, saying that they could have counted on the Yun family, but now even the Yun family is unable to protect themselves and they have to leave.

The old housekeeper said mysteriously: "As long as everyone stays, there will always be things, and people will never starve to death."

The whole village stared at the old housekeeper strangely. There is no food to eat in the whole village now? The old housekeeper said: "You are helping the Yun family to dig a piece of mud, carry a piece of it." (To be continued)
