Chapter 503 Xiaohai builds a city

Lake Baikal, which later generations, is now called Xiaohai. During the Western Han Dynasty, Lake Baikal was under the control of the Huns and was called "Beihai". It was the famous place where Su Wu shepherded sheep.

The ancestors of the Manchus once lived in this area. At that time, they were called Sushen people and expressed their surrender to the Zhou Dynasty at that time.

During the Western Han Dynasty, after the Huns occupied this place, they also wrote to the court to ask "Paise" Ru to guard the northern territory for the Han Dynasty. The Huns became subordinates of the Han Dynasty. The northern territory under their rule, including the Baikal area, was the territory of the Han Dynasty.

Later, after several twists and turns, this place belonged to the Northern Wei, Tang, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Manchu Jiannu.

This lake, which looks like the moon, has been called Xiaohai by the Han people since the end of the Tang Dynasty. Xiaohai has now welcomed a new master. Yan Yingyuan, the marshal of the Liao Dynasty, sent troops to garrison and hired northern factories to build a large city on the east bank of the lake.

Now Tsarist Russia is under the banner of supporting the hometown and is crazily attacking the Khanate in the Siberian region. These Khanate at sunset are often killed by hundreds of Tsarist Russian expeditions, throwing away the faces of their ancestors, Mongolian Tartars. The Cossacks crossed the Ural Mountains and swept across the Eurasian continent, and wiped out the nomadic peoples that had galloped on the grassland for thousands of years one by one.

It is covered with heavy snow in winter, and the vast white area is covered with snow foam blowing through the north wind is like a blade.

The construction workers of more than twenty factories were huddled in a low house, and the charcoal burning in the iron stove emitted thick smoke and floated out along the chimney.

Before the winter of this year, most of the people in the factory returned to the capital for the New Year. The rest were all those who died at the hands of the Manchu Tartars during the four years of the Northern Expedition and were homeless. Anyway, they were sad when they returned. It would be better to gather here to earn some money for the owner to take care of the equipment, and secondly, they would have a companion so that they would not be able to do so in the New Year.

A big pot was squatting on the stove, and the meat was full of fragrance. In the cold weather, only wine and meat were the best comfort. More than 20 men surrounded the iron pot, each with a bowl in his hand. The boiled meat piece was fat and thin. The soup was splashed everywhere after biting it, and then a mouthful of strong wine, which was indescribable.

A bunch of men who eat meat and drink alcohol always have to say some dirty jokes, otherwise they will feel that they are missing something.

When it comes to women, these men who are alone in foreign lands feel very far away. In this ice and snow, there are only local indigenous people. Ten years ago, Cossack Kurbat Ivanov from the Yenisei River District came to the Baikal area and killed all the men here and snatched all the women. Later, General Yan Yingyuan recovered this place, and it was really uninhabited.

Yan Yingyuan chose to build a city here, and it was carefully considered. This moon-shaped lake is extremely large, with rich aquatic products inside, and many gold mines around it (250 were discovered in later generations), as well as abundant coal, wood, and kaolin.

Kaolin is a non-metallic mineral, a clay and clay rock mainly composed of kaolinite clay minerals. Because it is white and delicate, it is also called Baiyun soil, and is the best raw material for firing ceramics. As long as it is transported back to the Central Plains or a few magnetic kilns are built here, these kaolin everywhere will become exquisite porcelain equivalent to gold in Europe.

Moreover, this place is close to Mobei, and can already support Xia Wanchun's army, and is very close to each other. This newly built city will inevitably become a springboard for Yan Yingyuan and Xia Wanchun to continue their attacks, and it has great strategic significance.

While a group of people were talking dirty jokes unscrupulously, a team slowly approached the half-built city in the storm outside.

In fact, this is an expedition team. Tsarist Russia attacked the east and plundered a large tract of territory. In fact, it was a group of about a hundred people. Because it was too cold here and it was not suitable for large army operations. These people said they were expedition teams, but in fact they were armed robbers organized for money, and came to Siberia to hunt and rob the tribes. It was these less than a thousand armed forces who took away a large tract of territory from Kang Mazi.

Suddenly, a rapid barking of dogs came, and the men in the room changed their faces. There were no guests in this kind of place. The barking of dogs means someone came up secretly, so there was no doubt that the Rakshasa people were on the regular schedule.

The man in charge was calm and shouted: "Close the doors and windows and launch the signal flare."

Yan Yingyuan knew that building a city in such a place would inevitably be attacked by the Rakshasa people, so he reserved a military force in the city. As long as there was an enemy attack, the factory staff would call out signal flares, and naturally there would be troops coming. Because this kind of place was really not suitable for large army garrison, and the cold winter and disease alone would be unbearable. Most of Yan Yingyuan's army was stationed in the Heilongjiang River Basin, and Xia Wanchun retreated to Wuliang Mansion for pre-war training and preparation. The number of soldiers who stayed at this unbuilt military fortress and transit station was no more than 200.

One person asked, "Brother Wang, do you want to confirm it? If the beast passes by, wouldn't it be a waste of time for those soldiers to go there?"

The head of Wang glared at him and cursed: "Li Liu'er, how many lives do you have to try? Listen to my signal flare first. If there is a false alarm, we will apologize for a good time. If you compensate for some wine and meat, it will be a piece of New Year."

The signal flare just developed by the Denlai Navy was specially made for such places. It was loud enough but not dazzling. After the people in the house fired, they hid in the room and dared not show their heads. The barking of dogs outside gradually turned into a few wails, and everyone was convinced that what they came was indeed a group of enemies.

It is inevitable that such a place will be dispatched. Later, the Qing Dynasty and Tsarist Russia fought fiercely, but in fact, there was no more than 2,000 people in each battle. In the ninth year of Shunzhi, more than 200 Russian expedition teams occupied Uzara Village. The Qing army Zhang Jinghai brought 600 regular troops and more than 1,000 auxiliary soldiers from nearby tribes, with 6 cannons and 30 bird guns. The Qing Dynasty was defeated in this battle, causing the surrounding tribes to be slaughtered, leaving almost no living gulf.

The Tartars showed their strange combat power in the early stages when facing foreign enemies, especially European powers. The Manchu Tatars had the advantage after blasting the earth wall, but spent too much time calling out. As a result, the Russians transferred their only two cannons to the gap, but when the large group of Qing soldiers squeezed in through the gap, they were suddenly broken by bayonets on the front cannon. The Russians took the opportunity to chase and found that the Qing soldiers pushed their cannons outside the wall, so they snatched them and used them. Then the Qing army's chain collapse could not stop.

A few years later, Tsarist Russia made a comeback. This time, 1,500 people from the Qing Dynasty and the Korean coalition were beaten and abandoned their armor. If the Cossack soldiers had not had food and water shortage and epidemic, otherwise the reinforcements would have been waiting for the Qing Dynasty to be destroyed. The Qing Dynasty had no choice but to be surrounded and negotiated. This led to the strange news of why they won but ceded the land.

Not far away, a house hidden under the snow nest, Jiang Bin, who heard the sound, jumped up, and the thick white cloak of armor on the boat led his soldiers out of the camp. The snow-white cloak was the best disguise here, and the group bent over to walk towards the factory construction workers' houses.
