Chapter 106 Forced Mission
"Teacher, the patent right of burning agent does not belong to me." Byron whispered.
"Oh? It doesn't belong to you." The middle-aged man in black robe frowned.
"Yes, Gustav." Byron spread his hands and said, "While the concept of the new potion originated from my ideas, some problems have never been solved, and there are other people who finally completed [burning potion]."
"You mean, someone finished this potion before you?"
A trace of solemnity floated on Gustav's face and said in a deep voice.
"If that happens, according to the rules of the Potion Association, you really cannot obtain the patent rights of the new potion, but I'm curious, who solved the problem that left you helpless?"
"Astalo Lilith or Stella?"
The names Gustav said were all formal wizards in the academy who were good at potions. In his opinion, only formal wizards with rich knowledge could solve the problems encountered by Byron.
"Ha, the person who completed the [burning potion] is not an official wizard." Byron shook his head and chuckled, ": He is just a newcomer, and he has been enrolled for less than half a year. He may not even have a second-level apprenticeship."
"Newcomer?" Gustav paused, and a hint of surprise appeared on his face.
"His name is Enzo, and he is my experimental assistant." Byron nodded and said solemnly, ": From the beginning of cooperating with my experiment, he has shown a very high talent for potion. He just assisted the experiment and recorded the refining process of [burning potion], and then he added ice leaf fruit in it with a flash of inspiration."
"It is precisely because of this that [burning agent] is finally completed!"
"Are you sure he has completed the new potion?" Gustav said in a deep voice, "I think you should be clear that research on potion often requires time to accumulate. Without a large amount of knowledge reserves, it is impossible to achieve anything!"
"How much magic potion knowledge can a newcomer who has been enrolled for less than half a year, even if he keeps studying for a while?"
"I have thought about this question, but according to Enzo, the reason why he has mastered so much potion knowledge is that he has obtained some broken wizard heritage before entering school." Byron's face remained unchanged and insisted, ": Enzo has been my assistant for a while, and from him, I can feel no less talent than my potion."
"Oh? No less than your potion talent?" Gustav's eyes flashed, and he was a little surprised.
Byron is a recognized potion genius in the academy. Even if he is well-known in the Potion Association, he already has four potion patents before he has been promoted to a formal wizard. Such a genius naturally has his own pride.
Being able to get his recognition is enough to prove Enzo's talent!
"So, you came this time to help him apply for a patent for the potion?" Gustav said in a deep voice.
"Yes, mentor." Byron raised his head, looked straight at Gustav, and took a deep breath and said, "But, besides that, there is another thing that needs to be considered by the mentor."
"What's the matter?" Gustav asked.
"I hope to recommend Enzo to become your disciple." Byron said solemnly, ": Being able to complete [burn potion] has proved Enzo's talent. I think you should not reject a potion genius."
"Do you want me to accept him as a disciple?" Gustav looked a little surprised and asked in confusion, "Why do you want to help him? If you are just a newcomer, you shouldn't have any friendship."
"Teacher, I plan to be promoted to a formal wizard!" Byron said in a deep voice.
"Have you... finally decided?" Gustav suddenly paused, raised his head, and said in a serious tone, "You have to think clearly that once you take that step, no one can guarantee the result."
"I've thought it very clearly, tutor." Byron sighed and said, ": I've been staying in the state of a third-level apprentice for decades. If I can't condense the magic crystallization, my life will eventually come to an end."
"But...that thing..." Gustav thought of something and said hesitantly.
"This is why I recommend Enzo to you." Byron said slowly with a solemn expression, "If I can successfully condense the magic crystallization during the process of being promoted to a formal wizard, then everything will be as usual. But if I fail, someone must take over me and continue to complete that thing!"
Gustav looked at Byron without speaking for a long time.
"Oh, if you persist, you can only do this." After a while, Gustav sighed and said, "Find some time to bring that newcomer. If his potion talent is really as you said, I will accept this disciple."
"Thank you, mentor." Byron took a step back and bowed.
......
Another month passed soon.
During these days, Enzo hid in the room most of the time, while refining potions, he was familiar with the abilities of new witchcraft and improving his strength as much as possible.
One afternoon, the newcomers ushered in the first batch of mandatory tasks.
"Compulsory Mission: Investigate the deaths of a large number of people in Snowhoof City [Silver Deer Kingdom], Mission Reward: 20 Magic Stones, Mission Responsible Person: Enzo."
Under the bulletin board of the task office, Enzo saw the forced tasks assigned to him by the academy.
"Is it just an investigation task? It doesn't seem very difficult." Enzo frowned in confusion.
As far as he knows, compulsory tasks have always been the tradition of the college. In order to make newcomers take responsibility while honing them, the tasks assigned are often difficult and dangerous, which is also a test for newcomers by the college.
However, Enzo received a strange task. He just asked him to go to the secular kingdom to investigate the disappearance of the population. It was really no difficulty or danger.
"Oh my God! Fight against the fallen wizards hiding in the Beser Mountains?"
A wail came from his ears. Enzo looked at him and saw Jora's expression ugly, looking like his dead father.
"What a joke, I'm a little first-level apprentice, how could I receive such a task?" Jora's face turned pale and said in a daze, "Can't it be that the academy made a mistake?"
"It's not wrong, this is the mission we received." On the side, Bourn nodded in a deep voice and said, "A total of five people received the mission of siege, and the Fallen Wizard in the Bells Mountains is said to be just a third-level apprentice who failed to condense magic crystals. The five of us should be able to deal with it together."
"That's too difficult..." Jora made a moaning sound.
